Chapter 22 Meeting again
Dude Town.
As they were about to enter the town, Glenn noticed that there was a large group of police officers patrolling outside, which was a bit unusual.
Has anything happened in Dude Town recently? It seems to be a big deal... Glenn just stopped and watched for a while, then continued on his way.
Several police officers who saw him immediately stepped forward and asked in a dignified tone: "Stop, what are you doing?"
"We're pulling pigs into town to sell them," Glenn answered, stepping aside.
The leading police officer signaled with his eyes, and the others all came closer to pull the car over for inspection.
They pushed the dead pigs around, and some even took out daggers to peel off some of the skin and flesh to check if there was anything abnormal inside.
Glenn just stood aside and let them do whatever they wanted with the meat. He didn't care as it didn't affect the quality of the meat.
Several police officers fiddled with it for a while, sweating profusely, but in the end, perhaps because they were tired or really couldn't find anything, they had to give up.
They stepped back and shook their heads to the leading police officer, indicating that there was nothing unusual.
Only then did they let Glenn through.
Glenn walked to the cart and straightened the black pig with a few moves, leaving several police officers dumbfounded.
Watching the young man pulling the pig into town, one of the police officers exclaimed: "He looks tall and thin, but he is really strong!"
……
Business this time was much quieter, and Glenn was not surprised. If every business was like the previous two times, wouldn't he have made all the wealth in the town in a few months?
However, even with such a quiet business, the income is still much higher than that of an average civilian family.
His attitude remained enthusiastic, and he quickly became familiar with several repeat customers, even chatting and laughing with them in addition to doing business.
After seeing off another customer, Glenn heard a familiar voice.
"Mr. Glenn!"
Leila came running from somewhere, holding up her skirt with both hands, with a look of surprise on her pretty face.
"Ms. Leila, long time no see. Don't you have to go to school today?" Glenn wiped his bloody hands with a rag and said with a smile.
"Yes, my friends wanted to go out for a walk, and I was dragged out by them, so I had to accompany them." Leila smiled brightly, her eyebrows curved, and then exclaimed, "Are you selling meat? This is a business that makes a lot of money!"
"There are a lot of animals near the town where I live, so I can kill them and sell them," Glenn explained.
"That's really good." Leila praised sincerely, and suddenly felt a little apologetic, "Will my presence affect your business?"
Glenn found it funny to see the girl at a loss. He waved his hand and said, "It's okay. It doesn't matter. Don't be so reserved."
When the two were about to say something, another voice came from behind.
"Leila, is this gentleman your friend?"
The speaker was a plump red-haired boy, who was walking towards Glenn with two men and one woman.
"These are my classmates and friends, Poker, Myer, DeAmela and Pernas."
When Leila saw the person coming, she immediately introduced him to Glenn.
She then introduced him to her friends, "My friends, this is Mr. Glenn, a very kind gentleman."
"Hello, Mr. Glenn." The three boys greeted politely.
Only the blonde girl named Pernas kept her hands covering her mouth and nose, looking away, saying nothing and keeping a certain distance from Glenn's stall.
Glenn nodded in response, then looked at the blonde girl deliberately and smiled meaningfully.
Leila said awkwardly, "I'm sorry, Mr. Glenn, Pernas has a weird temper, please don't be angry."
Glenn was about to say he didn't care, but the other party walked up to the blonde girl, tugged on her dress, pulled her to a distance, and whispered, "Pernas, you are so rude! Apologize to Mr. Glenn!"
However, Pernas persuaded Leila instead, "Leila, my good friend, how could you get involved with such a person? Look at him, he is dirty and smells bloody, how disgusting! Let's just leave and ignore him."
These words shocked Leila. She couldn't believe that these words came from her friend's mouth.
Although Pernas is a noble, he is very kind to his friends. Leila thought that he was different from those arrogant noble ladies, but now it seems...
Her face flushed red and she was very angry. She really couldn't accept what Pernas had just said.
Although Glenn was far away, his super hearing allowed him to hear the entire conversation.
Seeing that the friendship was about to capsize, he interrupted the conversation between the two girls:
"Leila, where is that greedy little girl? Isn't she with you?"
Leila was about to explode when she heard Glenn's question. She could only glare at her best friend angrily, then turned and ran back to Glenn's stall. The latter felt confused.
Throughout the whole process, the three teenagers who followed were confused and didn't understand what was going on.
"Mr. Glenn, I must apologize to you again on behalf of Pernas. She was not like this originally."
Just as Leila was about to bow to Glenn, she was stopped by him.
"Come on, your mother has brought you up so well, why are you always so polite? I won't get angry with a little girl."
Perhaps out of respect for her benefactor, or for some other reason, Leila always subconsciously wanted to be polite and reserved in front of Glenn.
Leila was a little embarrassed when she was supported. She said embarrassedly: "I'm really sorry."
Not far away, Pernas, who was originally covering her mouth and nose and looking aside, changed her expression when she heard Glenn call her a little girl. She turned around and wanted to get angry, but held it back.
Glenn noticed the blonde girl's actions, but just smiled in his heart.
He asked Leila, "Answer my question first. Why isn't that girl named Bonnie with you?"
Leila's expression flashed with a trace of worry, and she hesitated and said: "Bonnie...is not in a good mood and doesn't want to come out..."
"Is it because of you..." Glenn wanted to ask if it was because of your father, but he felt it was inappropriate, so he coughed lightly and changed his tone, "Is it because of the danger we encountered that day?"
"Mr. Glenn, how did you know?" Leila looked a little surprised.
"The police came to see me, how could I not know?" Glenn spread his hands.
Hearing that the police had come to see Glenn, Leila asked worriedly, "They didn't give you any trouble, did they?"
"No, I'm just investigating what happened that day."
"That's good." Leila patted her chest and breathed a sigh of relief.
Glenn saw someone coming to buy meat. While entertaining them, he continued to ask, "Tell me, what happened to that little girl Bonnie? Was she scared and had a psychological trauma? Has she not recovered yet?"
After saying this, Leila showed disbelief, and her tone became a little surprised, "Mr. Glenn, you are right!"
