Legends of Runeterra
Chapter 23 Layer of Routines
Just as Cruse threw his head back and laughed, a broad hand climbed onto his shoulder.
"Huh? Who the hell dares to tap my shoulder?"
Cruse turned around menacingly, and a familiar face appeared before him, and his heart shrank slightly.
"Poison...poison...poison scorpion?"
Cruse looked down at his hands. There was no problem. The head that died with its eyes open was still in his hands.
When he looked up again, he found that the other person only looked similar, but there was no purple-black scorpion tattoo on his shiny head.
"Damn it, you hanged guy, you look quite like that scorpion, you scared me! Hahaha!" After saying that, Cruse laughed, but there was some reluctance in his voice.
"Hahaha! Really? Do you think this looks similar?"
The other party raised his hand and wiped it above his head, and a shiny purple and black, lifelike scorpion appeared above his head.
"Qiang!"
Cruse's blade that was stabbed at the poisonous scorpion was blocked. He immediately took a few steps back and shouted to the mercenaries around him: "The poisonous scorpion is not dead yet! Come and kill him for me! Quick!"
But no matter how he shouted, the mercenaries around him just glanced at him coldly and continued to watch the bandits in their hands.
The bandits were drugged and collapsed on the ground, unable to speak. They could only stare at the reappearing scorpion with hopeful eyes.
"Shut up! Get back to work, why are you yelling?"
"It's you! Your name is Samira, right? I'm Cruse, I'm Lord Abbas's man, and I was the one who gave you the signal! The Scorpion is not dead, you should kill him quickly!"
Samira didn't move when she heard that. She just looked at him calmly and asked, "Well, I understand. So where's the token?"
"Token? Oh! I didn't bring it with me when I came here undercover. Kill the scorpion first, and I'll give it to you when we get back!" Cruse was stunned for a moment and then spoke immediately.
"Give you the token!"
Scorpion slowly threw out an iron plate. Samira caught it and then took out another one from her pocket. The two fit together perfectly!
"Yes, no problem! What shall we do with these prisoners?"
"After I'm done dealing with this guy, we'll kill them all. Don't leave any one alive. Just take their heads!" said the Scorpion casually.
Samira nodded and was about to leave.
"Wait, you are a mercenary hired by Lord Abbas, right? I am his man! You stupid mercenary, come back here!"
"I'm just a mercenary, I do things for money. I only take orders from whoever has the token. Unfortunately, you don't have the token!" After saying this, Samira came to the side with her arms around her shoulders, looking like a spectator.
His hopes dashed, Cruse immediately started cursing, saying that the mercenaries were all scavenger vultures, treacherous and unscrupulous.
"Oh~! Brother Cruse, what a pity, you were supposed to become a noble lord!" Scorpion slowly walked to his side, his tone full of mockery.
"This is Lord Abbas's promise to me. How did you know?!"
Cruz looked up, his eyes full of disbelief.
"You were defeated first and then won, returned home with honor, gained the trust of Soleanna and her daughter, and finally let them die in an accidental assassination?
It was a lie from the beginning to the end. The masters never intended to attack them! The war of the conquest of Uzeris is still vivid in people's minds. No one dares to face the Noxian army! "
"Then why, why..."
"The masters just hope that Soleanna and her daughter can realize their importance and pay more attention to them! As for you, your only value is that you are the leader of the last batch of troops that Cassiopeia can mobilize!"
"Impossible, that's not the case..."
The Poison Scorpion looked at the other person who was falling into collapse, his eyes full of mockery. He raised his hand and wiped it on his head, and the scorpion tattoo disappeared.
"Finally, I'll tell you that I'm the captain of Lord Abbas's first personal guard - Baldan! I'm not some ridiculous poisonous scorpion!"
Baldan picked up the long knife that he had used to cut off the head of his substitute scorpion, shook off the blood stains on it, and came to Cruse.
"Goodbye, Cruz, sir!"
The long sword turned into white light and slashed towards the neck.
"Dang~!"
A black shadow flew out, and the knife flew out of Baldan's hand, broke into two halves, and stuck diagonally into the ground.
"Wow!"
Everyone present held down their weapons and looked into the shadows in the distance.
"Conspiracy and betrayal, blood and wealth, you all really put on a great show for me tonight!"
With black hair and black eyes, a gentle temperament and a handsome face, everyone felt that he should appear at a luxurious dinner party, surrounded by countless noble ladies, instead of in this camp that was like a slaughterhouse.
Some curious people were about to speak when they saw a giant steel figure appear behind the other party. The cold eyes under the ferocious helmet swept across the crowd, and everyone felt as if a sharp blade was placed on their necks.
Baldan recognized the armor style of the other party. In order to prevent the mercenaries from doing something stupid, he said, "This... Your Excellency, I wonder if you have any instructions? I am willing to serve you!"
As Baldan spoke, everyone escaped from the suffocating atmosphere, took a long breath and looked around.
When he saw the soldiers standing quietly in the shadows, he realized that he and his men had been surrounded without making any noise.
Li En ignored Baldan and glanced at Cruse. Seeing that he was still in a state of collapse, he said calmly: "Safet, control these gangsters and that clown!"
"Yes, my lord!"
Safet waved his hand, and the soldiers stepped forward to tie the bandits together. The mercenaries did not move, allowing them to take the prisoners away.
Baldan was also tied up, but he did not resist at all and cooperated very well.
Seeing that the mission was about to fail, Samira stopped the mercenaries who were trying to obstruct her and stepped forward.
Under the mercenaries' horrified gazes, he gritted his teeth and said, "Sir, you have caused my mission to fail by doing this!"
"Huh? What's your name?"
The system notification sound had already sounded, and Li En looked at the desert beauty in front of him with great interest.
"My name is Samira, and I'm a mercenary!"
"Okay, Samira! What do you want to do?" Li En said with a smile, looking at Samira, whose eyes were still intact.
"We suffered heavy losses in this mission. To be honest, if we don't get the bounty, we will starve to death if we return, so..."
"so?"
Seeing the other party's gentle eyes, Samira asked nervously: "Can you give us a task? For example, help you escort these prisoners or something."
"Sir, we are enough to deal with these bandits!" Safet said from the side.
He looked at Samira with hostility, as if he was ready to kill her with a knife at any time.
Li En patted the Safet arm armor and slowly walked to Samira.
As he moved, Samira felt that all the soldiers were looking at her, and her intuition, which had been honed over the years, was sounding the alarm.
