The Blessed Islands turned into the Shadow Islands where the undead roamed.

To use a metaphor that is not quite appropriate: if the burst of Curse of the Ruin is compared to a five-man game in Summoner's Rift, then Viego can only be said to have built this game room, plus the final attack on the enemy crystal.
