Journey to the West: Conquering the Demons

Chapter 106: Tang Monk Departs from Chang'an

Tang Seng has a sense of crisis.

Having a loyal and devoted leader who can take care of everything is probably the dream of many Buddhists. However, as a superior, Tang Seng has a rather inappropriate ambition at this time.

He just felt that he, the theoretical number one figure, had been overshadowed by the top leader who was actually working for him, but he couldn't do without him, so he had to find fault with the top leader, Comrade Sun Wukong, whenever he got the chance, so that he could know clearly who was the boss.

The top leader endured it again and again, until his boss "joked" about reporting his dirty laundry to the big boss, Tathagata Buddha, during the final review of the project. The top leader finally got angry and left. The boss was still aggrieved, saying, "I am so tolerant, how come you are so intolerant of jokes?"

It was not until he was beaten up by the man suspected to be the top leader, all the core project information was taken away, and the other party wanted to form his own team to work alone that he realized the seriousness of the problem.

The boss took his second and third sons crying and looking for people to judge the case, but found that everyone pretended to be ignorant and no one was willing to get involved in this mess. Although Di Ting, a subordinate of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, the leader of the next department, was willing to check the surveillance for him, he would never help him make a decision, that is, the boss beat people.

He complained all the way to the big boss, only to find out that the top leader was drinking tea with the big boss's confidential secretary. Not only did he have an alibi, but he was even more emotional than the one who was beaten. The confidential secretary was the confidant of the big boss and usually had the final say. At this moment, he had to calm him down in a gentle manner.

Where have you seen this scene before?

Finally, the senior leader stepped in to act as a peacemaker, and did not mention the grievance of the boss being beaten up. He only promised the top leader that as long as he helped to complete the project, he would be credited with the first prize. He also asked the confidential secretary to personally send the top leader back ceremoniously, and also specifically told the boss: Comrade Xiao Sun is a good person and very important. You must work hard and don't cause trouble for him.

As for who beat up the boss and where the person who beat him went, the top leader said that he personally sent the man to prison. Do you believe it? There is nothing you can do if you don't believe it, because the top leader believes it anyway.

The boss stopped finding faults, this time he recognized his position.

Who is the boss of this department?

Does this question even need to be asked?

Of course he is the top leader, could it be him?

The people he relied on have now become the boss's backers. He wants to be a mascot, and everyone will be happy. If he doesn't want to do it anymore, he can change the mascot to anyone else. Who doesn't want the opportunity to gild himself? But if the boss doesn't want to do it anymore, he will leave with a bunch of things to do, and the project will be over. To put it bluntly, with the boss's ability, he can complete the project even if he pulls four monkeys.

The boss was able to complete the final stage of the project happily thanks to the fact that the top leader was really an honest person who was able to let go of past grudges and not make things difficult for him.

The above is Wen Jiao’s summary.

Xuanzang had no idea that he would cause so much trouble in the future. He thought about her question with a bitter face for a long time and shook his head: "I still can't think of it."

Wen Jiao held her forehead with her hand: "Then I'll give you an idea. Choose the wisest one to be the leader, and let the others be under the leadership of the leader. As for you, don't employ people if you doubt them, and don't doubt them if you employ them."

This was also the conclusion she came to after careful consideration.

Tang Seng could have just laid down and gilded himself, but he insisted on going through all this trouble. After going through so much trouble, he finally managed to move himself from a project initiator to a mascot, and even received a major criticism from the Buddha. Who wouldn't say he was bored?

So Wen Jiao thought about it and decided that it would be better to let him face the reality early. You just don't have any ability, just accept it. Just be responsible for being a handsome sign-keeper, and let the monkey deal with the rest of the monsters and ghosts on the way to the West, Bajie's sneaky tricks, and Sha Seng's lack of effort...

More than 50% of leaders are able to avoid causing trouble for their subordinates. I hope Xuanzang can do it.

Xuanzang nodded repeatedly: "My son will remember this. Is there anything else you want to tell me, mother?"

Wen Jiao thought for a moment and said, "Well, one more thing is... be nicer to the monkey."

On the day Xuanzang set out, Wen Jiao did not go to see him off. But it was said that all the female Bodhisattvas in Chang'an came to line the streets to see him off, and the scene was very lively.

Some of the female bodhisattvas looked sad: "Master, the road ahead is dangerous, please take care!"

As soon as he finished speaking, his die-hard fans angrily rebuked him: "Our Master Xuanzang is highly skilled in martial arts. Horses can run on his arms and rocks can be crushed on his chest. A few demons and monsters should be easily captured by him."

Some waved their handkerchiefs and said, "Master, when will you come back? Give me an accurate message so that I can grab a good seat in advance when you start preaching again!"

Other die-hard fans angrily rebuked him, "Are you hinting that Master Xuanzang should reserve a seat for you? You little idiot, if you have the guts, go spend the money to buy a cushion in the front row. If you can't afford it, shut up and don't dance in front of the Master. Aren't you ashamed?"

Four noble ladies led four teams of strong maids, all dressed in pomegranate red clothes and pomegranate red silk belts on their heads, which were the same color as Xuanzang's robes made specially for him. They pulled out long red cloths with golden silk threads embroidered on them: "Xuanzang Xuanzang."

"This is the way to the west."

"The merits are boundless."

"Obtain the true scriptures."

The people around shouted, "It's the wrong way around, the third and fourth sentences are out of place!"

The third and fourth teams quickly turned around. The red silk was flying, and the scene was spectacular. When Xuanzang led two lines of monks to them, the four ladies beat the drums themselves, and the maids waved long flags. With the sound of the drums, everyone shouted in unison: "Xuanzang, Xuanzang, go to the West!"

"Seeking the true scriptures will bring you boundless merits!"

The monks couldn't help but look at him sideways. Xuanzang looked at his nose and his heart, trying to act calm and peaceful, but in fact he wanted to get a piece of tofu and hit it head-on to death.

Some simply cried their hearts out and washed their faces with tears. Of course, it was not only the female Bodhisattvas, but also many male Bodhisattvas who cried like a rain of tears. Judging from their behavior, it seemed that Xuanzang was not gone, but dead.

Although the road to the West is extremely dangerous, there is not much difference between going there and dying.

Li Shimin was also worried about his conscience, so he specially selected two strong servants with excellent martial arts to serve Xuanzang, and also selected a magnificent white horse from the Imperial Horse Administration, complete with saddle and bridle, and gave it to Xuanzang as a footstool. Suddenly, Xuanzang was seen whipping the horse to the west, with the sound of the white horse's hooves, and the strong servant riding a mule followed him. Soon, the three people and the horse had turned into a small dot at the other end of the Ba Bridge, and the male and female Bodhisattvas immediately cried loudly.

Li Shimin looked around and said intoxicatedly: "To be able to worship Buddha to this extent, my Tang Dynasty is indeed a place with honest and kind people!"

The civil and military officials bowed their heads when they heard this. Fu Yi, who was standing in the team, heard this and sneered disdainfully.
