Genshin Impact: Return of the Water Queen

Chapter 168 Black Snake Knight

Luo Chaya understood what he meant, but now was not the right time. She turned around and looked in another direction, where a black snake knight was standing. However, the black snake knight did not attack Luo Chaya and the others, but disappeared in front of everyone in an instant.

"Hey! He disappeared! He didn't attack us!" Paimon shouted in disbelief.

"That Black Snake Knight seems to have something to say...why?" Ying frowned and looked at Luo Chaya and Dainsleib in confusion.

"The Black Snake Knights were once the palace guards of Kanria. They were... all my subordinates." After seeing Ying's inquiring gaze, Dainsreb was silent for a while before speaking to everyone.

"But how did he stay conscious during these hundreds of years? Was it a miracle?"

Luo Chaya said slowly, "Isn't it good to believe in miracles, Dainsleb?"

After hearing what Luo Chaya said, Dainsleb laughed and nodded, "Maybe it's good. Traveler, Paimon, let's go to the upside-down city and take a look."

The group found a way to the upside-down city, but when they got close, they found obstacles. Just when Ying and Paimon were trying to find a mechanism to open the way forward, Dainsleb easily cleared all the obstacles.

"Huh?" Paimon looked at Dainsleib in shock.

Dainsleb said slowly: "I am very familiar with Kanreya's technology and the aura of the abyss. Opening these mechanisms is just a piece of cake."

"So, is this the ruins of Kanriya?" Ying asked curiously.

Dainsleb shook his head. "No, it doesn't look like that. The closer I get to this city, the more I'm sure it came from an older civilization, but was beaten to it by the Cult of the Abyss. It doesn't belong to Kanria, nor does it belong to the Abyss."

"Let's continue investigating further." Luo Chaya said.

After entering the upside-down city, Ying and Paimon went to investigate separately from Rochaya and others. Dainsleb was going to go in another direction, but he caught up with Rochaya.

After walking for a while, Luo Chaya stopped, looked back at Dainsleib, and said, "Are you still following me? Are you going to keep following me without saying anything?"

Looking at the smiling Luo Chaya, Dainsleb sighed and said slowly, "You can still laugh, Water Goddess Egolia."

"Do you want me to cry in front of you?" Luo Chaya asked back. She continued, "From just now, when you mentioned the demise of Kanreya and the curse of the Hillichul people, your eyes were always looking at me. Do you think I should be responsible for this?"

"The gods destroyed Kanriya. Shouldn't you be held responsible for this?" Dainsreb looked at Luochaya and said slowly.

Luochaya shook her head and denied Dainsreb's accusation. She said: "It was Kanria who destroyed Kanria, not us. Your accusation against the Seven Gods is groundless and is only mixed with your subjective resentment."

Dainsleb fell silent, and Luo Chaya continued, "If it wasn't for Kanria introducing the power of the abyss and causing the catastrophe of the entire continent, would the "Heavenly Law" have nothing better to do than summon the Seven Gods to destroy you Kanria? You Kanria paid the price, but didn't other countries pay the price? How innocent are they? The Seven Gods, how innocent are they?"

If there hadn't been the problem with the abyss back then, the Seven Gods would never be in their current half-dead state!

"You only know that the Seven Gods destroyed Kanria, but you have never thought that if Kanria was not destroyed, then it would be Teyvat and the other seven kingdoms that would be destroyed." Luo Chaya sighed again when she said this, "I don't want to argue with you. Our argument here is meaningless."

"Yes... Things have come to this point. It is indeed useless for us to argue." Dainsleb nodded.

Just when the two of them fell into silence, Paimon's exclamation suddenly came from a distance. After hearing this voice, Luo Chaya's body turned into a beam of water light and flew quickly towards the direction where the voice came from. In the blink of an eye, she arrived beside Ying and Paimon.

"What's going on?" Luo Chaya asked.

Paimon pointed ahead in panic and said to Luo Chaya: "Look over there, there are so many Black Snake Knights!"

Looking in the direction Paimon pointed, Luo Chaya also saw those Black Snake Knights, but these Black Snake Knights seemed to be protecting something behind them, and each of them had a very strange posture.

They seemed to be shouting something.

Ying didn't understand what they were saying, but Luo Chaya understood their shouts.

They were shouting, "Run away, tell the hillbillies behind them to run away." This was the ancient Kanreya language, which the Black Snake Knights had heard when they first came to Kanreya.

Dainsleb also came here, and after seeing the state of those black snake knights, he seemed to understand something. However, before he could say anything more, those black snake knights rushed towards Luo Chaya.

They completely ignored Ying and Paimeng, and only had Luo Chaya in their eyes.

Luo Chaya was not merciful and sent them to meet the former kings of Kanriya.

After dealing with the Black Snake Knight, Ying and Paimon noticed the Hillocks that were protected by the Black Snake Knight. Paimon looked at it blankly, "These are all Hillocks, but why does the Black Snake Knight want to protect the Hillocks?"

Luo Chaya looked back at Dainsleib and said to him, "Then we have to ask this Sword of the Last Light."

Dainsleb was silent for a long time before he said to Ying and Paimon, "As I just said, the Hillocks are cursed Kanreya people. During the catastrophe, I issued an order, "Tell all Black Snake Knights to protect the people of Kanreya no matter what."

“So, even though they have become like this, they are still protecting the people of Kanreya…” Ying fell silent.

Behind him, more Black Snake Knights gathered, but they were quickly driven away by the Black Snake Knight who had appeared before. After that, the other party also left.

Dainsleb's eyes had been following the Black Snake Knight, and suddenly he realized, "I remember! He is Halfdan! He is the elite of the palace guards! It seems that after these hundreds of years, he still remembers his mission... Even though Kanria is no longer Kanria."

Luo Chaya withdrew her gaze from the hill people and said to them, "Let's go, continue walking down."

Dainsleb took one last look at the hillbillies who were sitting on the ground and gradually accepting their own death, sighed, turned around and followed Luo Chaya deeper into the city.
