The Necromancer in the Wizarding World

Chapter 33 Return and Anger

Matthews rode alone on two horses, crossing quickly without any escort, and resolutely embarked on the journey. Behind him was a box full of rare medicinal herbs, which he carefully packed with the best materials to prevent any damage during the long journey.

The next afternoon, Matthews arrived at Albert Castle. He went straight back to his room and ordered his personal maid to help him tidy up his appearance, wash off his travel dust, and change into a set of clean and tidy clothes. In this way, he could appear in front of his parents in the best condition.

Matthews had no time to eat and hurried to the main hall of the castle. However, before leaving, he did not forget to tell the maid Mia: "Prepare the meal for me immediately, I will come back to enjoy it later."

Maid Mia wanted to report something to him: "Master Matthews, I have something important to report to you..."

But Matthews was eager to go to the main hall to meet his parents, and before the maid could finish, he interrupted her and said, "Let's talk later. I have something urgent to deal with now."

The Earl and the Countess were talking in the main hall of the castle when Matthews rushed in: "Father, Mother, I'm back!"

The countess looked at her son, with a flash of reproach in her eyes: "Little Matthews, you are so disobedient that you took so long to come back. Do you know how worried we are?"

Matthews anticipated that his mother would blame him, so he quickly bowed his head and admitted his mistake: "Mom, I know I was wrong. It's all my fault. The scenery over there is so charming that I lost myself for a moment."

Matthews could sense his mother's worry, but was afraid that she would continue to dwell on it, so he quickly changed the subject, hoping to divert her attention: "Father, Mother, Hunter Rio just sent me an invitation letter. He wants to invite me to visit Rio Castle. And he specifically mentioned that I will have the opportunity to meet Grand Duke Rio."

The Earl responded with relief and seriousness: "This is really good news! Hunter's personal letter to invite you shows that he truly regards you as a friend. Archduke Leo enjoys a high status in the kingdom and is known as the 'God of War'. His willingness to meet you is undoubtedly an excellent opportunity for your future."

Matthews immediately agreed: "Father is right. I also think this is a rare opportunity. Therefore, I plan to set off for Rio Castle as soon as possible to avoid missing this precious opportunity to meet Archduke Rio."

The Countess did not dwell on Matthews's delay in returning, but instead reminded him, "Don't forget to prepare an appropriate gift."

Matthews responded immediately: "Mother, I have replied to Hunter and told him that I will bring precious medicinal herbs that I collected from the mountains as a gift."

The Countess nodded with satisfaction: "Very good, this shows both respect and sincerity."

The Earl pondered for a moment, then said to Matthews: "Matthews, you will most likely face Hunter again on this trip. Remember, Hunter is a tough opponent. He has learned a lesson from the last duel and will surely make great progress. Are you mentally prepared?"

Matthews responded firmly: "Father, don't worry. I will never be defeated easily. I have received strict training from Master Lieben. I am definitely not an ordinary person."

Seeing Matthews's confident look, the Earl was very pleased: "Very good! When do you plan to leave?"

Matthews responded: "Father, I plan to set out early tomorrow morning so as not to miss Archduke Leo."

The count expressed his understanding: "I had hoped that you could stay a few more days, but since you have something important to do, I will arrange it according to your plan."

The Countess half-jokingly responded, "I'll let you off this time. I'll instruct the butler to prepare a suitable carriage and necessary guards for you. After all, when we nobles visit each other, proper etiquette and appearance are very important."

After a brief conversation with his parents, Matthews hurried back to his room to eat in a hurry. He had almost no time to eat during the trip.

The little maid had been carefully serving by his side. When she saw Matthews finish eating, she finally had the chance to speak and reported a piece of news that made Matthews uneasy: "Master, the little slave you brought back last time actually dared to peek at your books."

"What, what book did he read?" Matthews was shocked, because he knew that there were many important notes on his desk, which not only recorded the acupoint knowledge taught to him by Instructor Lieben, but also the acupoint knowledge from other worlds that he added.

This knowledge was extremely important to him, and once it was leaked, the consequences would be disastrous. At the same time, he blamed himself for being careless and forgetting to put away these notes in time.

"It's on your desk." The little maid felt Matthews' anger and dared not say anything more.

"He's simply courting death. Apart from that damn guy, who else would dare to peek at my notes?" Matthews was filled with uneasiness, and his tone revealed a strong murderous intent.

"Master, no one else has seen it except that little slave." The little maid hurriedly explained. She could feel her master's anger.

"So, what about the Earl and Countess? Have they read these notes?" Matthews felt a little relieved, but still had doubts.

The little maid replied, "No, absolutely not! After I found the little slave reading those books, I immediately reported it to the housekeeper. He was originally going to be executed immediately, but he insisted on seeing you, so we had to put him in the death row and wait for you to come back to make a decision."

"I don't have time to deal with him now. I'll make use of him when I come back this time." Matthews said very coldly. He didn't think he would let this damn slave go. His fate was to be the most cruel experimental guinea pig.

Matthews' cruel words made the little maid feel extremely frightened, and her body trembled involuntarily. However, Matthews did not care about it, as he thought it was a necessary warning to the maid.

He walked to his desk and carefully checked his notes, making sure there were no signs of loss or damage, only the top few pages had been flipped through. Then, Matthews quickly sorted the notes and put them in a drawer to ensure their safety.

"Don't let anyone enter my room, and don't touch anything inside, remember?" Matthews sternly ordered the maid, his eyes firm and cold.

The little maid nodded timidly and agreed in a trembling voice, fearing that any carelessness would bring her even greater blame.

Seeing this, Matthews softened his tone a little, but still reminded her with dignity: "If it happens again, you know the consequences. Now go and do your work." The little maid felt as if she had been pardoned and hurriedly left the room.
