Rocot: Reborn

Chapter 13

Rocot touched the heart of extinction, and the black flames spread upward, turning into a series of reincarnation plots. "If simply killing me could solve all the problems, then it would be easy for me." Hayes smiled bitterly, and he finally faced his fate, which was death and sacrifice. He had no regrets, because that was the eternal destination that heroes pursued.

Rocot ignited the fire of life in flesh and blood, and that flame will illuminate the future of the Shadowlands. Sorrow and memory, present and future intertwine to form the fate of the universe. Hayes fades, and the light of life becomes brighter. Rocot gave him the oath of rebirth, so that his generosity will not be in vain.

"I need your help, Hayes." Roccod was captured by the whisper. He admitted that it was a sweet deception. He smiled bitterly and finally welcomed his fate, which was death and sacrifice. He had no regrets, because that was the eternal destination pursued by the hero.

At the edge of the Shadowland, Rocot stood at the starting point of a long rotten wood bridge. In front of him was an endless mist, so thick that he could almost touch it. This bridge was said to be the path to rebirth, but no one could tell exactly what the unknown world at the other end looked like. Rocot was wearing a black cloak, and his eyes were firm but a little tired.

Behind him, the tower of the Shadow Kingdom loomed in the night, just like his former glory - everything seemed to be quietly disintegrating. At this moment, Rocot was no longer the authoritarian leader who made the whole country tremble. He had lost all his power and influence, and only had a heart longing for atonement and rebirth.

"To the heavens, or to the dust?" Roccod muttered to himself, his voice particularly clear in the silent night.

Suddenly, the silence was broken by footsteps coming from the other side of the bridge. Facing this unknown guest, Rocot tightened his grip on the hilt of his sword. He knew that on this road to rebirth, there might be all kinds of tests hidden.

"Stop, who is coming?" Rocot's voice was calm and powerful, trying to find the figure of the person coming in the dark.

"Oh, Rocot, once the King of Shadows, but now a lost soul." A mocking voice came from the fog, and then an old man in a gray robe appeared at the bridgehead.

Rocot frowned, "You know me?"

"Know you? Ha, I not only know you, I also know all your unfulfilled wishes." The old man chuckled, and every step he took was like a hammer hitting Rocco's heart. He continued, "You seek rebirth, you want to wash away all the sins of the past, but, Rocco, are you really ready to face the past? Are you really ready to understand your dark desires?"

Rocot's hand, which was tightly gripping the hilt of the sword, began to tremble slightly. The old man's words touched upon the deepest fear in his heart.

"Tell me, what is at the end of the journey?" Rocot finally asked the question that had been in his mind for a long time.

A mysterious smile appeared on the old man's face. He waved his hand gently, and the fog in front of him began to dissipate slowly, revealing the road to an unknown world.

"Go, Rocot, walk along this bridge and you will find your answer, whether it is salvation or destruction." The old man's voice slowly dissipated in the air with the wind.

Rocot took a deep breath, knowing that this would be the most crucial step in his life. He stepped onto the bridge, and the mist surrounded him again, leading him step by step into the unknown abyss.

Rocot's steps were heavy and resolute. The old wooden bridge under his feet made a creaking sound, as if telling the endless years. The mist around him seemed to be thicker than before, tightly wrapped around him, leaving him with only a vague gray in front of him. On the way, other passers-by had long disappeared, leaving him alone on this unknown journey.

As he took a deep breath, Roccod's mind was filled with chaotic thoughts. His past was like a fast-moving pearl gray film, spinning endlessly in his mind. The glory and power of the past, the conspiracy and betrayal he planned, every scene pierced his tired soul like a sharp blade. He was once the omnipotent Lord of Shadows, but now, he embarked on a journey of atonement.
