Rocot: Reborn
Chapter 18
Rocot stood alone in front of the dim skyline, facing the broken time and space gate. The glory and ruins of the old world intertwined in his sight. His figure was lonely and determined, like a warrior confronting the entire universe. At this time, he was no longer the absolute leader of the Shadow Kingdom, but a traveler abandoned by fate, looking for a way to rebirth.
"Locod, have you really made up your mind?" A low and somewhat sarcastic voice sounded behind him. It was his old friend and competitor, Marias.
Rocot turned around slowly, his eyes flashing with coldness and calculation, "You know, Marias, I never regret it." His voice was like a winter that had been frozen for a thousand years, revealing an unfathomable determination.
Marias stepped forward, his shadow lengthening in the dusk. "You have been running away, running away from past failures, running away from your own weaknesses. Rebirth? Do you think the new world will accept a ruler like you with blood on his hands?"
"Maybe not." Roccod's mouth curled up into a bitter smile, "But at least, I will have a chance to change, a chance to atone for my sins. You don't understand, Marias."
The scene of the two men's confrontation was filled with a tense atmosphere. Marias sneered, said nothing more, turned around and left, leaving Rocot alone to face the unknown light that came out of the crack.
Rocot took a deep breath and stared ahead. Time seemed to stand still at this moment. He knew that once he stepped into the crack, nothing would be the same again. His heart was filled with various emotions: fear, tension, anticipation... but more of a sense of relief.
Suddenly, a faint light shone from the crack and illuminated his face. Rocot closed his eyes and felt the call from the unknown world. He knew that this was his fate, and he had to face it one by one, whether it was glory or annihilation.
In this solemn silence, a warm hand gently rested on his shoulder. Whose hand was it? A new ally, or an old enemy? Rocot slowly opened his eyes, ready to meet his new destiny.
Rocot slowly opened his eyes. For a moment, the dazzling light made him feel uncomfortable. His vision gradually became clear, and what came into view was a strange and cold face. This was a tall and burly man with silver hair like a waterfall and eyes like ice. His hand was still on Rocot's shoulder, and his expression was complicated and difficult to read.
"Who are you?" Rocot's voice was low and alert, his body slightly tense, ready to deal with possible danger at any time.
The man smiled faintly and put down his hand. "I am Rex, a wanderer and your guide." He withdrew his hand and pointed to the light in the crack. "The world over there is full of unknowns and opportunities."
"Guide?" Rocot frowned. "Why are you here?"
"Because it is fate," Rex said calmly, "Don't you think this rebirth is a new opportunity? Or, an opportunity to atone for your sins?"
Rocot was silent for a moment. He recalled the past and suddenly a complex emotion surged in his heart. What he had done in the past had hurt too many people and planted countless seeds of hatred. Perhaps, Rex was right. This was a chance for rebirth and the beginning of atonement.
"Okay, I'll go with you." Rocot finally made up his mind, and there was a hint of determination in his voice.
Rex nodded, turned around and walked forward. Rocot followed him, gradually approaching the light in the crack. The light became stronger and stronger, and the surrounding scene gradually blurred, and was finally completely swallowed by the white light.
When the light faded, they were standing in a completely unfamiliar world. There were huge floating islands in the sky, and strange plants and creatures were everywhere. There was a faint fragrance in the air, as if it was a mixture of flowers and soil.
Rocot looked around, feeling a mixture of emotions. "Where is this place?"
"This is Kalandar," Rex replied, "a world full of magic and wonder, and your new starting point."
Rokod took a deep breath and felt the magical atmosphere here. He knew that the road ahead of him was full of unknowns and challenges, but he was no longer the shadow leader driven by hatred and desire. He would start over with a new attitude.
However, he didn't know that in the dense forest in the distance, a pair of eyes were watching them coldly. It was an enemy hiding in the dark, with a sneer on his lips.
Roccod and Rex continued to move forward, passing through a dense forest. Just as they passed a lake, they suddenly heard a burst of hurried footsteps. Roccod stopped alertly, his ears slightly erected, trying to identify the source of the sound.
"Someone is following us," Rocot whispered.
Rex nodded, "It seems that our arrival is not a secret."
Before he finished speaking, several fully armed soldiers rushed out of the forest and surrounded them. The leader was a sturdy man holding a huge sword, staring at Rocot and Rex fiercely.
"Who are you? Why are you trespassing into our territory?" the burly man shouted, his tone full of hostility.
Roccod's hand quietly moved to the dagger at his waist, but Rex motioned him to calm down. Rex stepped forward and said with a smile, "We are just passing by and don't mean to offend. We are just passing by here and hope to rest for a while."
The sturdy man snorted coldly, "Passers-by? Don't think we are easy to fool! Take them away!"
At this moment, a cold light flashed in Rex's eyes, and a long sword suddenly appeared in his hand, flashing with a cold light. "If you must fight, we will fight to the end."
Roccod also drew his dagger, his eyes fierce. The two sides were on the verge of a fight, and the air was filled with tension.
Just as the two sides were about to clash, a clear female voice rang out: "Stop!"
Roccod turned his head and saw a woman in a gorgeous robe walking slowly towards him. Her steps were light and steady, and her face was full of majesty. Her arrival made the whole scene stop instantly.
Rocot and Rex also apparently noticed her presence, and their eyes became sharp.
The woman walked up to Rocot and Rex, smiled and said, "Hello, two friends who have come from afar." Her voice was pleasant to the ears, making people feel like spring breeze.
Rocot looked at the woman. She had a noble and elegant temperament, and a strong magical fluctuation emanated from her. "Who are you?" he asked cautiously.
The woman smiled, "I am Eleanor, the protector of this land."
Rex stepped forward and said respectfully, "Miss Eleanor, we have no intention of offending you. We were just passing by here and were misunderstood by your subordinates."
Eleanor nodded, turned to the sturdy man and said, "Marco, this is my mistake. These two are indeed passers-by and have no ill intentions."
Marco was obviously in awe of Eleanor. He put away his great sword and said respectfully, "Master Guardian, we were reckless."
Eleanor nodded slightly, then turned to Rocot and Rex and said, "If you don't mind, you can come to my territory to talk. There, we can better resolve misunderstandings and discuss future cooperation."
Roccod and Rex looked at each other, and both saw a hint of doubt in each other's eyes. "We are willing to follow the arrangements of the Guardian." Rex replied.
Led by Eleanor, they arrived at a huge floating island in the sky, suspended above the clouds and surrounded by crystal clear crystals and shining colored glass.
There is a magnificent palace on the floating island, which is a masterpiece of nature. The walls are inlaid with various exquisite reliefs, depicting rich mythological stories. The top of the palace is soaring into the sky, and a huge gem is inlaid on the top, shining with colorful light.
Marco stopped in front of the palace and said respectfully to Rocot and Rex, "Please wait here. The Guardian will be here soon."
Not long after, Eleanor came in wearing a gorgeous robe. She smiled and said, "Sorry for the long wait. Please follow me."
They followed Eleanor into a spacious hall, where there was an exquisite long table filled with all kinds of delicacies and fruits.
Eleanor asked them to sit down, and then said, "You must have a long journey. Please have some refreshments to relieve your fatigue."
Rocot picked up a piece of cake, took a bite, and then said, "May I ask what the guardian means by misunderstanding and cooperation?"
Eleanor smiled slightly. "The misunderstanding has been cleared up. Now we can talk about cooperation. We need warriors like you to join our alliance and fight against the erosion of the shadow together."
Rocot's heart was moved, and he couldn't help but think of his past life, the days of wanton rebellion in the Shadow Kingdom. "Does the Lord Guardian want me to fight against the forces of the Shadow?" he asked.
Eleanor nodded. "Yes, the shadow of darkness continues to spread, posing a huge threat to our country. We need brave and powerful warriors to drive out the darkness and protect the light."
"Am I not darkness?" Rocot couldn't help asking, "Protecting the light means destroying the darkness, and darkness is my refuge."
Eleanor looked at him and smiled. "I believe you have your own choice, Mr. Rocot. You can choose to stand on the side of light, or continue to wander in the darkness. Whatever choice you make, I will respect your decision."
Roccod pondered for a long time, his heart wavering between confrontation and compromise. Finally, he raised his head and said firmly: "I am willing to join the alliance."
Rex nodded with relief, "I believe this is the right choice, Rocot."
Eleanor's eyes sparkled with joy. "We welcome you to join us, warrior. Please become the backbone of this alliance and use your strength and courage to drive away the darkness and protect the light."
Rocot smiled slightly, with a hint of determination in his eyes. He put down the burden of the past and prepared to start a new journey in this new land.
