Rocot: Reborn
Chapter 23
In the ruins of the future world, the moonlight is as silver, and Rocot's figure seems particularly lonely. This ruin, once his throne to rule the darkness, has now become a silent witness to his failures and betrayals again and again.
"Hey, old friend, are you back here again?" A contemptuous voice came through the air, breaking the silence.
Roccod turned around, his eyes sharp as a knife, staring at the figure that suddenly appeared. It was Jerick, his former right-hand man and now one of the betrayers. Jerick was wearing gorgeous armor and stood arrogantly at the other end of the ruins, with a provocative light flashing in his eyes.
"Jerrick, you still dare to come to see me? Aren't you afraid that I will skin you alive?" Rocot's voice was so cold that every word sounded like a whisper from hell.
"Hmph, Rocot, you are just a shadow of your former self. I am here to see your final ugly appearance." Jerrick smiled contemptuously, his eyes full of disdain.
The conflict was about to break out, and the air was filled with tension. However, Roccod suddenly showed a strange smile, which was full of infinite meaning.
"Really? Do you think what you saw is all?" Rocot said slowly, and suddenly the scepter covered with ancient runes appeared in his hand, shining with dark golden light under the moonlight.
"You...how could you still have that thing!" Jerrick's face suddenly changed. The previous contempt was gone, replaced by horror and disbelief.
Roccod did not answer, but smiled faintly and began to chant a complex spell in a low voice. As he chanted, the ground suddenly trembled, and a crack quickly opened under his feet. Jerick watched all this in astonishment, at a loss.
"Listen, Jerick. This is just the beginning." Roccod's voice spread far in the night wind. The crack behind him gradually expanded, as if it led to another world. He turned around, stepped into the crack, and disappeared into the darkness.
Jerick was left standing alone in the ruins, his face pale, his heart filled with anxiety and fear. He knew that Rocot's revenge had just begun. And he was probably the first person to fall into the darkness.
The ruins under the moonlight fell silent again, with only the wind blowing gently, as if whispering, foreshadowing the coming storm.
In Jerrick's shock and panic, Rocot's figure has been swallowed by the darkness, and this ruin seems to have become the stage for him to take action. Not far away, a line of vague and silent figures slowly approached. They were the old subordinates who had betrayed him and the newly promoted dignitaries. They gathered outside the ruins, quietly watching the revenge drama that was about to explode.
"Shh, don't make any noise, that beast Rocot is hiding here." A cold-blooded man in the lead commanded in a low voice, the gloom in his eyes revealing his hatred and suspicion towards Rocot.
"Lei Luo, are we really going in? I heard that the guy came back to life and is even more unpredictable." A young man asked in a trembling voice, his body unconsciously stepping back.
Lei Luo turned around and glared at him: "Coward, there are so many of us, he won't be able to escape even if he has three heads and six arms. We have to fight him quickly while he has not recovered his strength."
They quietly formed an assassination team and approached Rocot's hiding place step by step.
Meanwhile, Rocot had already awakened in the secret room. In the darkness, his eyes were like two cold gems, illuminating the desolation around him. He knew what these fools were up to and sneered in his heart. They thought they were hunting a sheep, but they didn't know that the real wolf had awakened.
Rokod gently touched the totem on the wall and whispered a mysterious spell. One secret warehouse after another opened, hiding the magic tools and treasures he had accumulated in his previous life. With a flash of cold light, Rokod had a strangely shaped long sword in his hand. The sword body emitted a faint blue light, which was the power of the stars.
He swung the sword lightly, and the mysterious patterns on the sword began to shine, like the Milky Way flowing under the night sky. "Old and new hatreds are all settled today." Roccod's voice revealed a hint of determination from the gloom.
Not far from the secret room, Lei Luo and his companions felt a subtle fluctuation. "Quick! Over there!" Lei Luo drew his sword and rushed out first, followed by the others. Unexpectedly, as soon as they reached the entrance of the secret room, a large wave of blue star power hit them like a rainstorm.
"No, retreat!" Lei Luo shouted, but it was too late. A gem-like blue light exploded in front of them, and several figures were blown away in the enchanting sparks, and screams echoed among the ruins.
Only Lei Luo barely managed to block the force, his face as pale as paper. When he raised his head with great effort and stared into the darkness of the exit, he saw the cold and heartless face of Rokod. The anxiety and fear in his heart were like a raging flood, making it almost impossible for him to stand still.
Rokod raised the sword in his hand and pointed it at him: "Leiluo, the next one is you."
Endless darkness enveloped him, and Lei Luo became isolated and helpless in the ruins. The warriors who supported each other's revenge seemed to be yesterday's news under the moonlight.
In a remote corner of the future world, in the shadows of densely packed streets and tall buildings, a faint light is emitted from an abandoned factory. It is a place called the "Dark Laboratory", which once gave birth to countless forbidden technologies and supernatural powers, but has now become a forgotten corner.
That night, the laboratory was unusually quiet. Only a closed experimental chamber was emitting a low humming sound, as if something was about to awaken.
Suddenly, the light in the warehouse flickered violently, and the entire space seemed to shake. The sealed door slowly opened, and a figure staggered out.
"Lockold..." The man whispered, as if searching for his own identity and past. He was Lockold, a ruler who fell due to conspiracy, but now miraculously revived from the ruins of this future.
Walking out of the secret room, Rocot's sight was attracted by the shadow reflected on the opposite wall. He moved closer and looked through the dusty glass. What came into view was his own face - pale and indifferent, with eyes full of endless resentment and desire for revenge for all this.
"Everyone will have to pay the price..." His voice was low and cold, and every word sounded like a declaration from the abyss.
Rocot recalled his past glory and moments of betrayal, those former allies, now enemies, who acted recklessly and plundered everything that belonged to him. And he would make them feel fear and despair one by one.
He stepped out of the factory, the night was as dark as ink, and the stars were shining. In this world, technology and magic are intertwined, and the contest of power is everywhere. Roccod wants to rebuild his empire in this era.
The first goal is to regain his power base. Rokod knows that the resources and believers he once hid are scattered in every corner of this ruined city. He needs to organize a team of his own to regain power.
Among them, there is a character who is his important chess piece - a young magician, Fork, who was once his most loyal follower. It is said that after Rocot's death, he continued to secretly collect information related to Rocot.
Finding the problem is equivalent to grasping the key to recovery.
Roccod took a deep breath, and the dark power in his body began to surge. He knew that he didn't have much time, and he had to strike his first blow before the enemy fully grasped the situation.
He stepped into the night, with ruins forgotten by time behind him and a new era world full of unknowns and challenges in front of him.
"It's time to start..." he said to himself, his tone full of unyielding and determination.
And in this corner of the future, a story about power, betrayal and revenge quietly begins.
The night was as dark as ink. Roccod walked on the low and dilapidated road of the ruins. The former glory had turned into dust. The dark power surging in his heart made him feel the long-lost sense of power. Behind him were endless forgotten ruins, and in front of him was a new era world full of unknowns.
Near the city center, there is a gorgeously decorated underground bar called "Shadow's Nest". It is the hub of the underground world, where criminals, intelligence dealers and psychics gather to make a living by exchanging interests and information.
Roccod pushed open the heavy iron door, and a strong smell of cigarettes and alcohol hit him. Under the dim light, people of all kinds were hiding in the shadows, talking in low voices or looking at each other.
Rocot's eyes scanned the bar and soon locked onto a corner, where a young man in a wide-brimmed hat sat, his eyes flashing with alertness - Fork, the loyal magician in Rocot's memory.
Fork was looking at a deck of supernatural cards in his hand, as if thinking about the curtain of fate. Roccod appeared at his table without warning, which made him startled.
"You..." Fork's words got stuck in his throat, and the shock in his eyes turned into disbelief.
"It's me, Rocot." Rocot said coldly.
"You're back?" Fork's tone was full of uncertainty and mixed emotions. He had been looking forward to this moment, but he didn't dare to truly believe it.
"It's the result of hard work." Roccod sneered, "But now is not the time to reminisce. We have more important things to do."
They sat opposite each other, their forks tapping gently on the long table, the sound steady and rhythmic. "What is your plan? What can we do now?"
Rocot whispers, "We need to rebuild our country!"
A complicated look flashed in Fork's eyes, and his gaze moved between Rocot and the long table. "Rebuilding the country... do you have a specific plan, Your Majesty?"
Roccod sneered, "Of course. Do you remember our former secret base? The place we called 'Heart of Shadow'?"
"Of course I remember." Fork's voice was deep and nostalgic. "You built it yourself. It has strong defenses and abundant resources."
Roccod nodded. "The first step is to retake the Heart of Shadow. Only by controlling that stronghold can we have enough resources and secrecy to carry out a bigger plan."
Fork's fingers tapped lightly on the table, his brows furrowed, "But, Your Majesty, that place has been occupied by the enemy for many years. Now the defense and surveillance have been strengthened a lot. It's not easy to take it back."
Rocco said calmly, "We won't wait until now to do easy things. We need an opportunity, an insider."
Fork hesitated, "You mean, penetrate it?"
A cold light flashed in Roccod's eyes. "That's right. We need someone who can penetrate deep into the enemy and understand their defenses and movements. And this is exactly the task that needs you to complete."
Porky's brow furrowed slightly, but he didn't object, "I see. Your Majesty, are there any other arrangements?"
"It's not just the insiders." The dark power in Roccod's hand surged again, "We need to reorganize the past members and summon those loyal subordinates back. Do you know their whereabouts?"
"Of course." Porky nodded. "For many years, I have been secretly in contact with them. But they are also very secretive. Only I can find them."
Roccod sneered, "Very good, let's get started. We need to be careful with every step we take, but as long as we succeed, those bastards who betrayed us will pay the price."
Prong's eyes met Rocot's with a firm one. "I will do my best, Your Majesty. To rebuild Shadow Heart and to regain the glory that belongs to us."
Rocot nodded with satisfaction. "Very good, Prongs. We don't need any more words. The most important thing now is action. You go and make preparations. I will wait for your good news outside Shadow Heart."
At this moment, there was a commotion at the door of the bar. A group of young men in fancy clothes pushed the door open, obviously from some wealthy family. The leader had a contemptuous smile on his face and walked straight towards Rocot and Fork.
"I heard something interesting. How dare someone mess with my business on Shadow Lair's territory?" His provocative gaze paused on Rocot, and then he smiled disdainfully.
Roccod narrowed his eyes, stood up, and looked at the newcomer indifferently, "What's your name?"
The young man raised his head and responded arrogantly, "Rex, the eldest son of the Taylor family."
Roccod raised his lips, and a cold light flashed in his eyes. "The Taylor family? You really don't know how to live or die..." His cold voice was like an icy blade. The majesty of the monarch of the Shadow Kingdom was fully revealed at this moment.
Rex was stunned for a moment, then became angry and said, "You are looking for death!" He gave an order, and the guards behind him drew their weapons. Just as the situation became tense, the dark power in Rokod suddenly erupted, and the whole bar was filled with a cold atmosphere.
The future is full of unknowns, and also full of Rocot's cold and resolute heart of revenge. The awakening shadow power, the surging dark fate, a great change that will shake the world, quietly unfolds.
Rocot stood in front of the window of the tower, and the future world unfolded before his eyes. Various aircrafts shuttled between the towering buildings. In the distance, a huge energy barrier was like a rainbow in the sky, isolating the Shadow Kingdom from the outside world. His eyes reflected all this, but his heart was as complicated as a tangled mess. He had a glorious life, and was born and died. Now, he was no longer the king of the night admired by everyone, but an ordinary person who had just been reborn and started all over again.
