Rocot: Reborn
Chapter 26
"Take back the silver chain. I didn't expect you to break my spell so easily." Hamlet's voice was still cold, but it could be heard that he was already on guard. "Lockold, perhaps you are more difficult to deal with than I thought."
"What do you think?" Rocot gently played with the silver chain in his hand, and the grass stem in his mouth twitched at the corner of his mouth, looking extremely relaxed and contented.
"But this is the real show. Don't you want to explore what makes me different from ordinary people? I am looking forward to seeing who is crazier, you or me." He released the black blade in his hand and glanced at the police. "It is a stupid choice to make my enemies angry. I have never tried to regain my freedom so easily."
"Can't you handle me?" He tilted his head, his eyes sarcastic.
"Or maybe, should I say you are not good enough, or do you admit that you are not good enough?" His noble and invincible appearance like an emperor made a group of people tremble in their hearts.
"Forget it, I won't tease you anymore. It's time for you to wake up. This is not the place for you to act wild." Rocot tilted his lips slightly and sneered back with disdain. He sheathed the black blade again, picked up a piece of grass and held it in his mouth, smiling like a dandy boy who teases cats and dogs.
Rocot walked over and looked at Hamlet who kept resisting but couldn't break free from the silver chain. "I forgive your superficiality. It's just your first time killing someone. It's inevitable that you will be flustered. Come to the high-end restaurant from time to time to cultivate the atmosphere. Don't show off your money all day long. Do you know how much this affects my image among the villagers!"
Hamlet blushed and wanted to retort, but looking at the grass in Rocot's hand, he dared not speak.
Seeing that they didn't make any other moves, Rocot slowly paced around Hamlet, making a clicking sound.
"Hey, I'm sending you a dream to show you how strong I am." He said jokingly, then slowly changed the subject: "Don't scare you to death."
"I hope you won't meet me again in your next life!" Rocot said, his tone was solemn and dignified: "Then, goodbye!"
Rocot began to gather strength in his hands, and black mist seemed to spread in the air, surrounding Hamlet. Fear crept into his heart as he was about to lose his life, and he began to make his final struggle.
"If I'm not mistaken, you're smiling happily."
"I must have stood ahead of you, my king..."
After saying this, Hamlet turned into smoke and disappeared into the air. The police were immediately in a panic. They were not the bravest of people, but they also stared with their eyes wide open and their mouths opened wide, obviously very shocked by the scene before them.
Rokod calmly looked at the blood on his middle finger, and in their shock, he looked into the distance. Desire and ambition burned in his heart like a flame, and he smiled bloodthirstily: "Next, wait for my commander..."
"You really don't know how to pick the time." Rocot bent down and looked at the fat policeman who had fainted on the ground because he had stayed in the house for too long. His expression was a little melancholy but fleeting. He had more important things to do.
Rocot walked out of the house again and saw several police cars parked steadily. He saw that they were "his own people", so he stopped and looked at them from a distance, smiling and said, "You are here, where is my boat?"
"Are you okay?" John stared at Rocot with eyes that were twice as big as before, feeling a little creepy, but when he thought that Rocot knew nothing about the Luo residence, he let down his guard.
"I'm fine," Rocot said. "Did you find the ship?"
"Aren't you...looking for a girlfriend?" John asked puzzled.
"I'll go look for him on the ship." Rocot looked at John seriously, his eyes seemed familiar. He stood alone in the shadows, as if he was just waiting for someone to decide his future fate.
"The boat is here." John pointed to the right of the gate in confusion. "I can't tell where your girlfriend is. She disappeared suddenly."
"Huh?" Upon hearing the word "missing", Locot was unable to accept this fact for a moment, and his whole body froze and did not move.
"Pfft, haha, sorry." Noticing that there was no response from below for a long time, the officer smiled awkwardly and got out of the car. The others followed his wink and walked down the path. "What do you mean missing? It's just a joke! It's because you didn't marry a good young lady and insisted on going out to fall in love with your lover. We have to complain about you for a long time."
As he said this, he pulled Rocot and tried to pull him into the car, but suddenly found that he was no match for him.
"Come on, where did you get the boat?" Rocot finally returned to his normal form, but he still felt upset about the joke.
"Don't talk about the mission assigned to me by the organization." The police officer said righteously.
"Hey! Do you know?" Rocco deliberately leaned close to John's ear, "I know it even if you don't tell me."
After saying those words, Rocot turned and walked towards the car, but just as he was about to sit in the passenger seat, the police officer's tone changed again.
"No comment!" he said.
"Although I think it would be better if you pretended you didn't know," he added.
Rocot's brows were tightly knitted together, and then he turned his back and asked knowingly.
"How to say?"
The police officer took a deep breath and returned to the driver's seat. The screen showed a profile picture and text.
“Lonely is forced to interact with other NPCs to make a living. Lacking human friends, he can only project his emotions to the person he places his hopes on. Then a series of poignant love stories and illogical fighting plots occur.”
"Hey! Isn't that me?"
"Yes, he is you but you have to pretend you don't know that we have never discussed this plot." The officer said slowly, and Rocot could clearly feel that his face was hidden behind the mask.
"I might as well put on a public show to wake up the discordant plot elements such as jealousy, hatred, domination, and loser narratives..." The police officer turned around and looked at Rocot after saying this, as if he expected Rocot to be discouraged by the complete disclosure, but he could only watch Rocot mutter with starry eyes.
In the foggy night, Rocot passed through the wasteland at the edge of the road, his sharp eyes shining with the cold light of war in the darkness. Although the dilemma of amnesia made him full of doubts about the real world, the flame of revenge never went out and still burned in his heart.
"Crash!" A black shadow suddenly jumped out from the chaotic dim light and collided with several panicked neighbors. Roccod sneered and turned to hide in the dark alley.
"What ridiculous puppets!" Rocot said to himself, with a somewhat playful tone. In this future world, humans have become subordinates of technology, reduced to being played with like specimens. And he, Rocot, will surely break the barrier that separates reality and fantasy.
Looking around, everything looked familiar, but at a second glance it became mysterious. Under the yellow street light, a girl was laughing at the camera, and the screen was full of numbers jumping upwards. Roccod's lips curled up, revealing a hint of sarcasm.
At this moment, an illusory figure vaguely appeared in Rocot's perception. He turned around slowly and saw a man in an old-fashioned uniform standing in the mist.
"Officer?" Rocot raised his eyebrows. This kind of ambiguous presence was just like the officials in his previous life, and also very much like this world that was both real and illusory.
"Lockold, I spent a lot of effort to find you." The man spoke in a deep voice, inadvertently revealing admiration. He wore a mysterious mask on his face, and his facial expressions were unpredictable.
Rocot remained calm. "So what? Are you trying to remind me that as a victim of a conspiracy, I should be more cautious?"
The police officer smiled, and there was a hint of temptation in his insincere tone: "Perhaps, or perhaps I just want to see how you, the future King of the Night, struggle on the road to a new life."
"King of the Night?" Roccod repeated the title, with a smile on his face. "Don't make it sound like it's real. You and I both know how I will pave the way for the future."
In an instant, the air around them seemed to be penetrated by electricity, and the atmosphere between the two seemed to be pulled by an invisible force, high pressure and full of confrontation.
The police officer tapped his mask. "Remember, Rocot. Nothing in this world is absolute. Especially power... and revenge."
The smile on Roccod's lips grew more intense, his eyes fixed on the police officer's mask like a knife, and the boundary between all this and the afterlife was getting farther and farther away. "Good reminder. But in the next game, I will let those of you who play with power experience real fear."
After saying this, he turned and walked into deeper shadows. Behind him, the police officer looked through the mask, as if he was surprised and sighed.
Just as Rocot was about to disappear into the depths of the dark alley, his footsteps suddenly paused, and the malice and cunning in his heart filled his cold body. What happened next was bound to cause a huge wave of shock to the whole world.
After walking a few steps forward, he could hear the faint sound of steel pulling in the mist. Suddenly, Rocot stopped.
"After all, haven't I given up my love of long-distance travel?" he murmured.
As the voice fell, a swaying cross suddenly appeared in the silhouette of the night. Roccod relaxed his muscles, slightly bent his calves, and the cross slid slowly in the night like a ghost.
"Will you keep me here for a night? I promise not to touch your hands," Rocot whispered to the cross.
The cross paused, and the chains slid a few times, as if in response. Rocot smiled, but did not try to untie it.
It was like an international joke network was pulled in the night, and the air around was filled with an atmosphere of teasing and appreciation of human stupidity. Rocot narrowed his eyes, stretched out his hand and drew a circle in the air.
At his signal, the pitch-black cross emitted sound waves, and transparent arms stretched out, surrounding Rocot.
The chains made a scraping sound, as if they were alerted by Roccod's actions. However, Roccod looked unconcerned and even began to adjust the shackles that bound his body.
"What a sturdy cage, what a solid sense of security..." Rocot squinted his eyes and looked lazy.
Iron whispered in the darkness, crossing the two sides of Rocot's body. The control robot arms, which were dimly lit in the darkness, bent and lifted Rocot high. In the night sky, it was like a sacrifice that was ready to die, unfolding in front of the camera as a god.
A series of numbers and letters appear in the anti-slip interface of the screen.
"What is this place?" There were sounds of laughter coming from downstairs.
"What are you doing? Don't you know this is the working area for senior staff? Stop hanging around here!" a passing guard shouted.
Rocot raised his chin slightly, looking at the cute little people with admiration. He chuckled a few times, and the sound waves echoed in the dark mist of Jinling, stirring up a cloud of dust on the ground.
A traditional red light scan flickered on the red dot on Roccod's face.
"Ding, advanced laboratory, danger level Alpha-Indigo, facial recognition in progress..." A warning sounded from the other side of the cross, and an infinite countdown appeared in the pause between sentences.
Rocot tilted his head, pretending to cooperate, but it also looked like he was forcing and teasing him.
The red light conducted a comprehensive and detailed identification scan, but the face of Locotte was just filled with a voice of heavy contempt, replacing the next step.
"Enough is enough. No one has yet managed to hold me prisoner. You have already exceeded your authority. Even in disguise, you are still powerless clowns." Rocot looked around and mocked the aura around him.
The entire cross hummed, as if it were an animatronic cartoon character growling, reflecting a lamentation that was universally incompatible with human emotion.
