Rocot: Reborn

Chapter 56

He looked up at the world in the past, but the road ahead was still unknown. He didn't know where he would go or what he would encounter. But it didn't matter, because he had found the direction.

He started his journey again. This time, he was no longer alone, because he brought with him his memories, his experiences, and his struggle against fate.

He knew that the road ahead was long, but he was willing to face it, because he knew that only in this way could he regain everything he had lost and find the self who led them to a new world.

However, when he took the first step, a powerful energy surged out, and his body fell into a dark wormhole. In the darkness, a big hand stretched out and grabbed him tightly. He struggled hard, but could not resist the strong gravitational force.

"No, this is not the end!" His voice echoed in the void, "I am Rocot, I am the monarch of the Shadow Realm. What I want to strangle is not only what those children have done, but also... those things in myself that I hate."

"Lokold!" A frosty voice came from the void, "Do you think you can escape your past by starting over? Your mistakes, your sins, those innocent lives... What do you want to exchange for them?"

The moment he felt the cold voice, Roccod's body seemed to be corroded by a deep cold beast. Every inch of his skin was trembling, but his face always maintained a kind of patient stubbornness.

He struggled in the dark wormhole, exerting force in every vein and muscle, but the force that bound him seemed to be connected to the majesty of the universe, making it impossible for him to move even a little.

"I, Rocot, was once the monarch of the Shadow Kingdom. Now..." He shouted in the darkness, his voice low and resolute, "I want to kill not only the things those children have done, but also... those parts of myself that I hate."

Then what they saw was the black light that seemed to cut through the void flowing through his body, transforming into a strange totem that surrounded his body, like a kind of sacrifice and atonement.

The God of Falling Frost suddenly fell silent, and then there was a long wait. When the voice sounded again, it became low and deep, as if it came from some distant and mysterious existence.

"Lockold, the redemption you have always thought of may not be the real redemption. In this long time and space, you will face more choices. Are you ready to face it all?"

Rocot closed his eyes and took a long breath, as if somewhere deep in his heart, a chain had been unlocked.

"I am Rocot. I have never been afraid of any choice, and I am not afraid of this one."

His words passed through the darkness, and the violent energy shock made the void tremble. He stared ahead, as if he saw the prospect of returning to dust after eternity, and that chaotic and magnificent picture spread across his sight.

And in this dark abyss, he is the only light.

"Okay, Roccod." The cold voice of Falling Frost sounded, and the tone seemed to carry a bit of desolation and tranquility, "Then you go and face your fate. Remember, choices are often more important than results."

An unknown prophecy seemed to sound in the dark wormhole, and Rocot's figure slowly disappeared in this mysterious and complex power, leaving only a low roar that shook the abyss.

"My choices are never wrong!"

However, at the moment he disappeared, a flash of red light suddenly appeared in the dark wormhole, streaking across like a meteor, almost igniting the chaos of darkness. It swept away, chasing after Rocot's receding figure, but never caught up.

That was... a bloody meteor, or rather, a symbol of some kind of price.

That cold voice emerged in the void, trembling slightly, "Lokode, your future is full of unknowns. I hope you can find your true home."

Then, everything was silent. In the darkness, only one sentence echoed.

"My destination... perhaps, is at the end of this journey." However, that voice was no longer to be found.

In the darkest part of the future world, Roccod woke up from his sleep, but the surroundings were suffocatingly dark. He was in an abandoned scientific research facility. It was the end of the world, a forgotten corner of history, full of broken machinery and dim light. His heart suddenly beat, and his heavy breathing vibrated in the empty metal structure, with a dull and long echo.

"Are you feeling a bit cold, old friend?" A pretentious voice broke the silence. It was Watus, his former servant, who had also betrayed him.

Rocot smiled contemptuously, but he was not surprised in his heart. In this future ruin, he had long been accustomed to forgetfulness and betrayal.

"Votus, it's no surprise that you are here too." Rocot's voice was cold, just like the Shadow Kingdom he once ruled.

The gaze between the two was like a spark in the darkness, destined to cause a storm. Watus smiled dryly and looked around, as if looking for some chance to escape.

"Locked, you don't know what your rebirth means." Watus' tone was a little cunning, indicating that he might know something that Locked didn't know.

The smile on Rocot's face gradually disappeared, and the purpose of arriving at this time and space suddenly became unclear. "What does it mean? Watus, don't keep me in suspense."

"This time, Boss, you were actually summoned back," Watus paused slightly and lowered his voice, "You were summoned by that forbidden technology."

These words struck Roccod's mind like lightning. He remembered that in the last days of his previous life, he had come into contact with a technology that could change everything, but he was betrayed at that time and nothing could be realized.

"Take me there," Rocot ordered without hesitation.

Watus nodded and led Rocot through the intricate corridors, finally arriving in front of a closed laboratory. The door slowly opened, and a dazzling light fell, reflecting the intricate mechanical structure and flashing instruments inside.

"Here lies the secret of rebirth, Rocot," Watus' voice suddenly became low and mysterious, "but every secret has its price."

Just as Rocot was about to step into the light, a faint warning sounded from deep within the laboratory.

The warning echoed in the dim laboratory like a nightmare. Roccod paused and looked into the deep shadows, his eyes flashing with cold light. "What's that sound?" He asked in a cold and commanding voice.

Watus's expression changed slightly, and he answered hesitantly: "That is a warning system. It...it reminds us of the possible danger ahead."

"Danger?" Rocot laughed sarcastically, "I am a person walking on the edge of a knife. Watus, what else do you think can scare me?"

After that, he walked towards the machinery group that was filled with light, and lightly touched one of the instruments with his palm. The light on the surface of the instrument changed with his touch, as if sensing his presence. In the light, Roccod's face reflected a kind of aloofness and coldness, forming a sharp contrast with the gloomy equipment around him.
