Rocot: Reborn

Chapter 71

Rocot simply smiled, a smile that was like a thorn in the night, elegant but deadly: "I need the latest intelligence on the southern border."

The demon quickly pulled out a roll of parchment filled with runes from the hollow skeleton workbench and presented it to Rocot as if it were a treasure. Rocot spread his fingertips, and the paper opened invisibly, unfolding in the air as if it had life, revealing obscure symbols.

As he interpreted the information, a strange light flashed in Rocot's eyes. "So, this so-called unusual traveler is probably not from this mortal world."

"That's right, my Lord," the demon bowed and added, "As far as I know, there has been a mysterious fluctuation of aura on the southern border recently, which is very different from the laws of our world. I suspect..."

Rokod didn't intend to let the demon continue to speak. His cold eyes were enough to show his decision. He put down a coin. It was magic gold minted in the lost ancient city. It was priceless and enough to slow the demon's heartbeat to almost stop.

However, just as he turned to leave, the lights opposite the exchange suddenly flashed, the screams of demons and suppressive spells echoed in the air, and a strange vision suddenly swept across.

Rocot's steps suddenly froze, and he turned around, his stern eyes piercing through the dust and fog. This was not only a physical change, but also a change in fate that could not be ignored. He knew that this turmoil would be the first step in his reconstruction of the empire, and even though the road ahead was full of thorns, he had to proceed step by step.

Behind the smoke and dust, Roccod's eyes that could see through everything were deeply locked on the disordered light. In this chaotic atmosphere, it seemed that some powerful existence was about to descend, challenging the known limits of this world.

He spoke slowly, "Is the traveler you mentioned the one who caused all this?"

The demon swallowed, his lips trembling: "Yes, my lord. That traveler, he...the power he possesses is completely unrestricted by the laws of our world."

"Hmm..." Rocot frowned, as if he was assessing the value and potential threat of this traveler. "I'm going to meet him."

Before he finished speaking, the demon showed a look of horror: "Lord, this is different from any opponent you have faced before. He is..."

Rocot interrupted him impatiently: "I am the monarch of the Shadow Kingdom. Do you think I am afraid?" His voice was cold, but it contained absolute confidence.

The demon lowered his head, not daring to say anything more. Rocot turned around and put on a cloak with dark scales, which caused an ominous wind to blow over his body. With steady and firm steps, he stepped out of the exchange office and headed towards the southern border.

In the night, a deserted tower stood alone, the light on its top trembling slightly as if it had foreseen Rocot's arrival. In the shadow of the tower, a hound made of black mist waited quietly.

Rocot had no time to care about these details. He approached the tower quickly and mysteriously like a ghost in the dark night, determined to take advantage of this opportunity and use the traveler as a springboard to climb back to the pinnacle of power.

He was already approaching, a great king, as treacherous as a shadow. His figure flickered in the moonlight, and his eyes were like a beacon exploring the abyss, gradually seeing through the truth ahead. Then, Rocot stopped and taunted softly: "It seems that I am not the only one who foresaw this change."

At the root of the tower, a figure appeared like a ghost, with the same purpose as Rocot. He was another force in the Shadow Realm, a dark master who rose quietly after Rocot's fake death.

Two equally powerful forces confronted each other, and the oppression in the air became more and more obvious. The Dark Master's voice was low and full of hostility: "Lockold, you are really brave. You dare to take the initiative to step into my territory."

Roccod smiled faintly, his smile always made people shudder: "If you think you can dominate this future world, you are too naive."

The confrontation between the two sides was like two beasts in the dark, waiting for the opportunity to launch a fatal attack. Suddenly, the light on the top of the tower burst, and a crack that traveled through time and space tore through the void. A traveler who was neither human nor beyond the demon clan walked out of the crack.

As the void cracks expanded, the fluctuations of time and space became more intense, as if the order between heaven and earth was twisted by an invisible hand. At the top of the tower, the light was radiant, shocking people. Just as the Dark Master was about to attack, he suddenly felt an unusual pressure.

However, Rocot did not waver at all. He had expected the change to happen. He sneered and watched the traveler who came out of the crack intently. The traveler's robe was embroidered with strange totems, flowing with an indescribable light. His eyes were filled with an ancient and deep light, as if he could see through the essence of the world.

"Who are you? Which world are you from?" Rocco said in a cold tone and slowly, not taking the other person seriously.

The traveler smiled faintly and replied slowly: "I come from a faraway place, and the name means nothing to you." There was a transcendent elegance and confidence in his tone.

The Dark Master who was watching narrowed his eyes and looked at the traveler calmly. He realized that the traveler's power was far from simple. He coldly challenged: "Sir Traveler, since you don't mind sharing with us, why don't you tell us your purpose?"

Suddenly, a breathtaking wave swept over. The space behind the traveler twisted, leaving a hole, as if connected to another dimension. He turned his head and looked directly at the hole through Rokod and the Dark Master.

"My purpose?" The traveler's voice was a little amused. "Actually, it's very simple. I need a guide to lead me through this future world that is about to end."

Roccod and the Dark Master looked at each other, and they both knew that this so-called "guide" must be murderous. However, whoever can control it firmly in his hands will also gain a power that does not belong to this world.

The tense atmosphere was like a string about to burst, and Rocot's unfired attack was hidden under a bottomless undercurrent. He leaned forward slightly and asked tentatively: "So, respected traveler, how can I be called your guide?"

Rokod's words seemed to have triggered some kind of mechanism. The hole suddenly emitted a sharp whistle, and a piercing chill filled the air. The traveler waved his hands, and the hole suddenly emitted a dazzling light, and then, the cold flames that soared into the sky engulfed everything.

In the darkness, a few rays of moonlight shone through. Roccod blinked and slowly adjusted to the world in front of him. This was a place that looked a little strange.

"Where is this?" Rocot muttered to himself.

Then, he began to look around cautiously. This was a huge and abandoned factory, and it was unknown how long it had been idle. In the center of the ceiling was a swaying lamp, illuminating the entire factory.

Suddenly, Locot heard a faint light flickering in the darkness. He turned his head suddenly and found a pair of deer eyes blinking in the darkness, as if countless lights were jumping in them.

Rocot walked forward carefully and pushed aside the defective products that were blocking the view. The creature in front of him was curled up in the iron box, wrapped in some garbage. It was only slightly taller than the box when it stood up, and its body was wet. It had a messy gray hair on its head, and it stretched out its hoof to poke Rocot's calf.

"...Woof?" It spoke.

Roccod raised his eyebrows, not quite believing the "woof". After a long while, he spoke:

"Hello, I'm Rocot."

This new character doesn't seem to have a very high IQ, so I won't ask his name for now.

"Um, are there dragons in this world?" Rocot decided to get straight to the point, because it was a bit difficult to find out the whereabouts of dragons from the Dark Master.

The little fellow replied to Rocot with an inarticulate "Woo-woo."
