Rocot: Reborn

Chapter 78

At this moment, the ground suddenly shook, as if a huge animal's foot was approaching. Rocot and Savile looked around vigilantly. In the darkness, pairs of fiery red eyes began to appear. They were like a pack of wolves in the wilderness, gradually surrounding them.

"It seems we are not just fighting one enemy." Rocot gripped the hilt of his sword, but his voice was unusually calm.

Just as the two were about to swing their swords again, a familiar and powerful voice was clearly heard in the storm: "Don't even think about fighting alone!" Then, a fierce light flashed, and a figure landed nimbly beside them. It was their old friend, and a warrior who also vowed to fight against darkness, Reina.

Reina's arrival injected new vitality into their morale. The three of them stood shoulder to shoulder in the dark encirclement, pointing their swords at the grinning eyes that were flashing red all around them.

"Well, since we are partners, we should face the wind and rain together." Reina smiled arrogantly, with sparks of fighting flashing in his eyes.

And those eyes in the darkness, under the illumination of this powerful light, gradually revealed their true forms - they were seeds of fear that escaped from the abyss, and began to dissolve little by little in front of the warriors of light.

The howling of the beasts was deafening, and the inhuman gazes around them were like oil lamps, faint but full of murderous light. Xavier, Rocot and Reiner stood shoulder to shoulder, pointing their swords at the darkness. Although they frowned with determination, their eyes were bright and fierce, as if this was the determination and invincibility of a warrior.

Suddenly, the leader of the abyss beasts, the Demon Eye Giant Tiger, leaped out of the darkness with phosphorescence flashing all over its body. The ground trembled under the tiger's feet. Rokod took on this tremendous force. He leaned forward and stabbed the tiger waiting in the air with his sword. At this time, Savile also jumped into the air, but suddenly felt an indescribable huge force and darkness pressing towards him from all directions.

This…what is this?

"God's Trial..." Reina gripped the hilt of the sword tightly and shouted to Xavier.

The invisible force fell, and Xavier's body suddenly fell down, and the pain and nightmare-like darkness bound him tightly. These forces were not the power to murder him, but just... the power to reject Xavier?

These invisible pressures did not hurt him, but instead acted like a magnetic field, constantly pushing him away.

The giant tiger with evil eyes also rushed towards him at this moment. It could not see Xavier's body. It could only see Reina in front of it. It roared and prepared to devour him.

"Reina, be careful!" Xavier shouted urgently, almost thinking that he heard the echo of his own voice.

Seeing that the sword was not powerful enough and the giant tiger was so majestic that darkness gathered at once, Reina faced the sky and the earth turning dark, but he was not afraid, because there was a more dangerous existence behind him. He accepted the challenge, and in the storm, he rode alone and resisted alone.

But Rocot did not understand all this. He only saw the giant tiger with evil eyes waving its claws, and Reina fell down. His sword was dripping with blood, and Rocot's sight was full of blood.

"Reina!" His voice cracked and fire burned in his eyes.

At this moment, what walked out from behind Reiner was no longer a giant tiger with demon pupils, without claws, tail, or hair, but an entity that looked more ferocious, more vulgar, and more full of fear than any other beast. Xavier, Roccod, and Reiner raised their heads and saw a form in the darkness. This was their enemy, the embodiment of darkness.

"Reina!" Rocot shouted in grief, swinging his sword as if to split open all the darkness in front of him.

The cold sword edge spewed out a sharp and blazing light, piercing into the strange beasts that were the embodiment of darkness around it, instantly burning out countless sparks.

"Reina, what happened?" Xavier asked with disgust, glancing around. His injuries temporarily made him lose his combat effectiveness, but he urgently needed to know whether Reina was alive or dead.

"I'm still alive." Heavy panting came from the ground. Although Reina's voice was weak, it was extremely firm. "You retreat first, I'll hold it back!"

However, they did not retreat. On the contrary, there was only determination in their eyes, just like their swords, they would never give in.

At this moment, they had no other choice but to face the darkness head-on. Therefore, what shone on their swords was not only their fighting spirit, but also their faith and determination.

The giant tiger in the darkness pounced towards them desperately, its eyes flashing with terrifying light, and its sharp claws were also full of murderous intent.

"Little evil!" Xavier shouted in disgust, and suddenly rushed towards Reiner who was crouching on the ground. "I'll show you who is the real strong one in this world!"

Seeing the giant tiger leaping into the air, Rocot and Savile used their swords to strike at the center of the giant tiger with a force of a thousand jin. This force seemed to break the heaven and earth. The roar of the giant tiger was instantly weakened by the sword energy. Under their swords, the terrifying giant tiger was left with only the fear of defeat.

In the darkness, the strange beasts around also retreated, as if they were frightened by the will of the two people in front of them to hold their swords and move forward bravely.

When the dust settled, the monster finally fell down, its body transformed into the most primitive black gas and dissipated in the wind.

Rocot and Savile fell to the ground, exhausted. But their eyes were still firm, because their hearts were burning with an unshakable belief, that is - "We will be the winners of this battle!"

However, although they succeeded in defeating the Demonic Tiger, the threat of darkness did not seem to be completely eliminated...

The darkness did not disappear with the fall of the Demon-Eyed Tiger. Although Xavier and Roccod were exhausted, their eyes were still determined when facing the darkness. They were already familiar with this kind of darkness. They were in the darkness, but they longed for light.

Only Rainer, lying there unconscious, was worrying. Both Savile and Rocot knew that they had to take action and not let this darkness take advantage.

Rocot looked at Xavier beside him with a firm gaze, "We can't just wait for this darkness to pose a threat again." He stood up despite the wound he had received in the previous battle. "Reina is still here. We have to protect him."

Although Xavier agreed, his eyes were fixed on his good friend Reina. He was confused. They had tried their best, but how could the impossible darkness appear several times in a row?

He looked around. This was truly a world dotted with stars. However, there was always a dark patch among the stars.

He knew that darkness was but the shadow of the light, and that in the light their world was safe. In the light no one could be harmed, either physically or mentally.

He had to change the world with his own hands and let the darkness go away. He bent down and took Rocot's sword in his own hand. There were no extra words, only firm belief: "I have made a decision, Rocot, I will break this darkness."

Rocot looked at him, speechless, then he stretched out his hand and held his sword in his own hand, "Savior, you always do it for us. This time, I will accompany you."

The two stood side by side, and Reina sat beside them. Although his consciousness was blurred, he still heard their words. He closed his eyes, and a thought flashed through his mind: they were reliable.

When the two men thrust their swords into the darkness, they did not flinch, because they knew that this was the right thing to do. When their swords touched the darkness, all the darkness seemed to suddenly disappear, leaving only the two of them, and Reina beside them.

But at this moment, a deep, mocking voice suddenly sounded in the darkness.

"I think your efforts are in vain," the voice from the depths of darkness said, "You can't stop the coming of darkness at all."

The voice in the darkness was low and full of mockery. It echoed in the ears of Rocot and Xavier. The two stood side by side, their swords still vibrating in the black space, as if confronting the essence of darkness. But the voice seemed to be everywhere, like a cold wind blowing through their wills.
