Hogwarts in the shadows

Chapter 103 Hermione's Weird Excitement

Hephis took Hermione's hand and rubbed her head.

But Hermione slapped his hand away and muttered, "It took a lot of effort to do that."

Hephis' eyes were full of doting: "Okay, okay, I was wrong. To make it up to you, I'll take you to a special place, okay?"

Hermione looked up curiously, "Where are you going? You're always so secretive and refuse to tell me."

Hephis smiled and said, "You'll know when you get there."

Hermione snorted and raised her chin.

Hefeth took her out and hailed a taxi.

The journey was not far, and they arrived at their destination half an hour later.

As soon as Hermione got out of the car, she started asking questions, "Did you use Apparition to take me home just now?"

Hephis nodded, "Yes! If you want to learn, I will teach you!"

"I want to learn! No, I mean you already know how to Apparate, so why did you take a taxi just now?" Hermione asked puzzledly.

"Apparition also has its limitations." Hephis patiently explained to Hermione.

"Not to mention the distance, it depends on the strength of one's magic power."

"Also, use Apparition, preferably to a place you've been to before."

"Although I know the address of this place, I have never been here before and I have no idea about the surrounding environment."

"That is to say, there is uncertainty about the target location."

"If I force you to Apparate, there might be a risk of you splitting into two."

"Oh, so that's how it is!" Hermione nodded cutely.

"Okay! Look at this." Hephis pointed to the building on the right.

"Wow! Is this... a haunted house?" Hermione's eyes lit up instantly.

"To be precise, this is the haunted house version of escape room," Hephis said with a smile.

"Escape Room?" Hermione looked curious.

"It's a game where you escape by solving puzzles in a closed space. How about giving it a try?" Hephis explained.

"Yes, yes." Hermione said eagerly.

Hephis knew that Hermione loved haunted houses.

But they visited haunted houses all over the UK and it was really boring.

So he deliberately moved the haunted house version of the escape room from his previous life to this world.

The person in charge of the construction is naturally Weir, and he is not the only one.

Hermione dragged Hephis along and excitedly walked into the house with a sign saying "Escape Room".

A blonde young lady was sitting at the front desk with a professional smile on her face.

She had received a notice from Weir long ago and knew that two special guests would be arriving tonight.

The boss repeatedly told them to serve them well and to agree to all their requests to ensure that they had a good time.

Seeing someone coming in, the young lady immediately stood up and bowed respectfully, "Hello, do you two have an appointment?"

"I've said hello to Will." Hephis nodded.

"Okay, both of you. This is a new type of game launched by our boss - escape room." The young lady said, handing over two introduction sheets.

"Currently this store only has the haunted house version. You two can take a look at the rules of the game first, so you will have a better gaming experience."

Hermione took the introduction sheet and read it carefully.

"Hephis, this looks great! We have to decipher the code to escape the Chamber of Secrets, and there are ghosts trying to stop us!" Hermione said excitedly.

"As long as you like it, let's get started!" Hephis habitually touched Hermione's head.

"Okay! Okay!" Hermione said impatiently.

"We now have three levels of difficulty: mild terror, medium terror, and severe terror. Which one would you like to choose?" the young lady introduced.

Hermione looked at Hephis with anticipation, and the word "severe fear" was almost written on her face.

"Serious fear." Hephes smiled.

"Heavy...Okay." The young lady took out the walkie-talkie and said a few words softly.

She then turned to the two of them and said, "The theme of this chamber of secrets is castle exploration. You two will play the role of secret breakers and explore the secrets of the castle."

The young lady handed them each a cross and a head of garlic.

"Both of you, please follow me. I will put blindfolds on you, and then a staff member will take you to the first room."

While putting on the eyepatch, Hermione subconsciously held Hephis's hand tightly.

The staff took them into the first room.

The temperature in the secret room was slightly chilly, and occasionally a cold breeze would blow by.

The sound of nails scratching against objects could still be heard in the room.

"You two... can take off your... blindfolds now." The voice of a staff member came from the loudspeaker above our heads, intermittently.

They took off their blindfolds and saw darkness in front of them, with only a candle emitting a faint light.

There are many dark brown spots on the walls, and the bookshelves are full of books, many of which have become damp and moldy.

On the desk there was a bottle of dried ink and a feather pen whose hair was almost falling off.

"Hephis, it looks like this is a study." Hermione's eyes sparkled with excitement, "Let's look for any clues."

"Okay." Based on the principle of letting Hermione have fun, Hephis helped Hermione from behind.

He would sometimes deliberately point out false clues to mislead Hermione.

There's no way around it; the gameplay of the escape room was provided by him, and most of the puzzles and plots were also designed by him.

How does this make him play?

Besides, he really had no mood to play this kind of low-end game.

Finally, with the help of Hephis, Hermione finally found all the clues.

There was a torn page of a book under the candlestick, and the light from the candle was just enough to determine the scope of the book.

After finding the book, Hermione turned to the torn page, which had a string of letters on it.

Each letter represents the first letter of a book on the shelf.

Then she got a set of codes based on where each book was placed.

The password can open a small password box under the desk.

There is a small box inside the password box, and there is a small hole on the box.

She poked the tip of her quill into the small hole, and with a slight click, the lid popped up.

Inside the small box was a key and half a piece of parchment. The key was just enough to open the door of the study.

Hermione cried out and opened the study door.

The candlesticks in the corridor emitted a faint, flickering light, and the crackling sound became louder.

Suddenly, there was a strange noise from the ceiling, and a zombie covered in bandages fell down suddenly.

"Ah! Ah! Ah!" Hermione screamed in horror and pulled Hephis away and ran in the opposite direction.

The zombies were chasing them closely, forcing them into a small, narrow room.

Hermione slammed the door and propped the cabinet against it.

The zombies outside the door were banging against the door panels frantically, making loud banging noises.
