Hogwarts in the shadows
Chapter 168 Karasen
A beam of sunlight shone in through the hole.
The sunlight shone through the slits in the cell bars onto Blake.
Blake's body seemed to be cut by an invisible force in the sunlight.
The areas where the sunlight hit seemed to be blown away by a sandy wind and gradually disappeared into the air.
Only those parts covered by the shadow of the railing remain.
Blake lowered his head, watching in horror what was happening to him.
He wanted to scream, he wanted to escape, but he was completely unable to move at all.
He could only watch the sunlight moving upwards little by little, and soon it would touch his head.
Snape stood aside and witnessed it all, and all the doubts in his heart finally had answers.
He understood how those who lost their shadows were ruthlessly deprived of their lives under the sunlight.
Snape watched Black's body disappear bit by bit, feeling indescribable joy in his heart.
But he finally chose to let Blake go.
He pulled out his wand and cast a spell, "Repel quickly!"
A powerful impact instantly hit Blake, throwing him into the corner of the cell like a broken doll.
It was dark and gloomy there, just enough to save Blake's life.
"Professor..." Hephis didn't really want to kill Black, but he didn't expect Snape to rescue him so quickly.
"Thank you, Hephis." Snape pursed his lips.
He looked at Blake again, his eyes flickering with an inexplicable emotion, "That's enough."
Hephis shrugged. He didn't care whether Blake lived or died.
Everything he did was just to help Snape let go of his obsession.
Hephis first released Black's shadow, allowing it to recover, and then took it back again.
"Blake is better off hiding in a dark corner."
Hephis looked at Black who was lying unconscious on the ground, with a hint of sarcasm in his voice.
Snape did not object anymore. He knew that Hephesus had no grudge against Black and everything he did was for himself.
Over the years, he had only felt this kind of sincere care from Hephis.
Next, Hephis did follow Snape's decision and released Black.
He asked Kiki to take Black back to the Shrieking Shed in Hogsmeade.
As for whether Blake continues to escape or does something else, it has nothing to do with him.
Ron's mouse, Scabbers, was currently playing with a bunch of female mice in Hefeth's suitcase.
I just don’t know whether these female mice can get pregnant in the end.
Blake's appearance was not completely useless to Hephis.
As he was looking through Black's memories, he not only saw what happened back then, but also saw the situation in Azkaban.
It is guarded by Dementors and never sees sunlight all year round, making it a perfect place to provide shadows.
To be honest, Hephis was a little tempted, so it’s better to take action.
But now the sun is shining and the weather is nice, so it is more important to stay with Hermione.
The few days of waiting for the results after the exam are a rare period of leisure time for all students.
Little wizards playing can be seen everywhere.
In the corner of the castle, behind a big tree at the edge of the forbidden forest, behind a low bush.
These places are most lively at night.
Hephis brought Hermione to the Black Lake, and the two walked side by side in the clear lake water.
The sunlight shines through the water, and mottled shadows sway in the lake.
A school of colorful little fish swam past them.
They shuttle among the water plants, they are carefree and free.
The scales of the little fish sparkle under the refraction of light.
One of the small blue fish swam towards Hermione curiously, staring at her with its round eyes.
Hermione was very surprised to see the little fish swimming around her for the first time, and the smile on her face never stopped.
"Hephis, look." Hermione gently pointed at the little blue fish with her fingertips.
The little fish didn't seem afraid and continued to swim leisurely around her.
Hephis smiled and looked at Hermione lovingly, "Why, do you like it? We can take it away."
Hermione shook her head, "It belongs here."
At this moment, there was a sudden wave in the lake and a huge tentacle quickly rolled towards them.
Hephis immediately erected a magic barrier to keep the tentacles out.
They looked up and saw a fifty-foot-tall giant octopus slowly approaching.
As the giant octopus approached, a hint of doubt appeared in its two eyes that looked very similar to humans.
These two students-looking kids don’t look like they fell into the water!
What are you doing here!
Hephis recognized the octopus as Karasen, the guardian of the Black Lake.
It was Hufflepuff who gave it this name.
Hephis established a magic channel directly with it and communicated with it using divine thoughts.
It turned out that Karasen mistook them for students who accidentally fell into the water and wanted to use his tentacles to send them to shore.
Hephis also explained to it that they came down to play and reassured it.
Karasen's big eyes blinked, "Hephis, are you the heir of Helga Hufflepuff?"
"I guess so." Hephis thought for a moment and admitted it.
He did receive a lot of inheritance and benefits from Hufflepuff, and even mastered Hufflepuff's exclusive magic.
Therefore, it is not wrong to call him the heir of Hufflepuff.
Karasen's big eyes blinked again, seeming to be satisfied with the answer.
It suddenly pointed at itself with its tentacles and said, "Do you want to play slide?"
"Slippery?" Hefeth was stunned. He looked at Karasen with some confusion.
Karasen scratched his head humanely with his tentacles, and seemed to have no idea how to explain it.
But since Karasen has invited him and Hephis can guarantee the safety of him and Hermione, let's give it a try!
"Hephis, is this the giant octopus from the Black Lagoon? It really is..." Hermione made a big circle with her arms.
"Its name is Karasen and it's the guardian of the Black Lake. It wants to invite us to play together. Do you want to try?" Hephis explained.
Hermione's eyes lit up and she nodded quickly.
Well, this little girl doesn’t know what fear is.
"Karasen, let Hermione come first, thank you for your help." Hephis telepathically said to Karasen.
He planned to watch and protect Hermione in case anything happened to her.
Karasen nodded, extended a huge tentacle, gently curled Hermione around with the tip, and then rushed out of the water.
Then, Hermione's screams merged with the sound of the waves.
It turned out that Hermione was sitting on the natural slide formed by Karasen's tentacles, enjoying the excitement and thrill of rushing into the water rapidly.
Karasen skillfully wrapped Hermione and the tentacle in magic.
Make sure she doesn't slip away, but continues to glide smoothly in the water.
