Hogwarts in the shadows

Chapter 44 A Warm Christmas

"Ding-a-ling-a-ling, jingle-a-ling-a-ling..."

Hefes was awakened by the ringing of the phone. He rubbed his sleepy eyes and picked up the phone.

"Hermione." Hephis said lovingly.

"How did you know it was me?" Hermione was a little surprised.

"You are the only one who knows my phone number."

"Oh, Hephis, I'm sorry, I should have called you earlier." Hermione said apologetically.

"What nonsense are you talking about? You didn't know I was here before." Hephis said gently.

"I received the gift. The necklace is very beautiful." Hermione said with a blushing face.

"I like your scarf, too. I plan to wear it all the time."

"It's just...it's not knitted very well." Hermione said embarrassedly.

"It's well-woven and very warm." Hephis said sincerely.

Hermione asked cautiously, "Hephis, are you alone now?"

"Ah."

"Why don't you come over to my house for Christmas?"

Hephis looked at the sky outside and said, "It's already late, and it will disturb your family."

"I don't want you to spend Christmas alone," Hermione said firmly.

"This..." Although Hephis was very tempted, he was still a little hesitant.

"Come on, Hephis~~~" Hermione cast the spell in a baby voice.

"Thank you, Hermione." Hephis was helpless. He really couldn't stand the loli voice.

"That's great! I'll wait for you to have dinner together. My mother's cooking is delicious!" Hermione's cheerful laughter came from the other end of the phone.

"Okay, wait until I get off."

"Ah."

Hephaest sat up suddenly and washed himself inside and out, and the eight black hands also got busy.

Ten minutes later, a well-dressed, handsome and energetic young man appeared.

He summoned the timely rain An An, who brought him directly to Hermione's doorstep.

An An happily left with Hephis's Christmas gift.

By the way, he had already ordered the gifts for several professors in advance and they will be delivered directly today.

Hephis took a deep breath, picked up the gift in his hand, and knocked on the door gently.

Hermione opened the door in a flash. She didn't expect Hephes to come so quickly. She looked at him in a daze.

"Hermione, who's here? Is it Hephis?" Mrs. Granger's voice came.

"Yes, Mom." Hermione called inside and said a little panickedly: "Come in, Hephis."

"Thank you, Hermione." Hephis first hugged Hermione gently and walked in confidently.

Mrs. Granger greeted them warmly, "Hephis, welcome to our home for Christmas!"

Hephis greeted the Grangers politely and presented them with a gift.

Mr. Granger was very considerate and did not pester Heffers with questions.

After expressing his warm welcome, he and Mrs. Granger went about their business, leaving the drawing room to them.

"This young man is good-looking and very polite," Mrs. Granger said with a smile.

"It's okay, not as handsome as I was back then."

"You old man, just be nice and don't cause trouble."

"That's the kind of person I am."

"What are you doing here!"

"I don't know what to say. It's a bit awkward. I'll hide here with you for a while."

"How about you...cut out the carrots and potatoes," Mrs. Granger ordered unhappily.

The Christmas dinner started quickly. Perhaps because there were two wizards present, Mr. Granger did not perform the traditional prayer before the meal.

They just welcomed Hephis once again and started eating.

Mrs. Granger was a very gentle person, constantly bringing all kinds of delicious food to Hephes.

Mr. Granger seemed a little nervous and often spoke incoherently.

But after a few drinks, his funny nature was exposed.

The wine Hephis brought came from the wizarding world. I wonder if it was mixed with a euphoria drug.

Anyway, Mr. Granger was drunk, and in the end he even put his arm around Heffis' neck and said he wanted to take him out to spend money.

Hephis was so embarrassed that he could only look to Hermione for help.

Mrs. Granger's face became darker and darker, and finally she twisted Mr. Granger's ear and took him upstairs.

When Mrs. Granger went back downstairs, Mr. Granger was already fast asleep upstairs.

Heffies wanted to leave, but Mrs. Granger would not let him and insisted that he stay overnight.

Of course, he didn't sleep in the same room with Hermione, but a room was specially cleaned up for him.

The cottage is not big, but it is very cozy.

Hermione also changed into pajamas, wearing the necklace, and walked into the cabin.

Under the slightly dim light, the whole space seems to be filled with a faint pink atmosphere.

Hephis hugged Hermione quietly, feeling her soft body.

Hermione's face gradually turned red.

"Hermione, you know what? This is the first time I feel the warmth of home since I came to this world." Hephis said softly.

"Hephis, you can come to my house often in the future. My parents like you very much." Hermione responded.

"how about you?"

"I like it, too," Hermione said, raising her voice.

"Thank you, Hermione."

"Go to sleep, Hephis. We'll go to the amusement park tomorrow."

"Do you want to come together?"

"Hephis~~~" Hermione stepped lightly on Hephis's foot, turned around and left with a red face, and closed the door gently.

"This little girl is so cute." Hephis took off his clothes and went to bed.

He lay on the bed, feeling the soft bedding and the warm room, and felt satisfied in his heart.

The next day, they had a crazy day at the amusement park.

Hermione looked more like a young eagle than a young lion.

The roller coaster, the pendulum, and the bungee jumping are all not to be missed.

They ate ice cream together again, and the ice cream was warm in the cold winter.

Mrs. Granger tried to persuade him to stay, but this time Hepherd firmly refused. After all, he couldn't live in Hermione's house forever.

Hermione was about to return to Hogwarts and didn't have much time to spend alone with her family.

Hefeth didn't want to destroy the warmth of their family.

Amid Mr. Granger's embarrassment, Mrs. Granger's blessing and Hermione's reluctance to leave, Hephis boarded the Knight Bus.

The big iron gate of the yard has been repaired, the yard has been cleaned up, and the newly planted flowers and plants are swaying in the breeze.

Brian's old house also looked brand new and was cleaned up by An An.

Hephis walked to the wooden door that An An couldn't open.

The door was as black as ink, with intricate inscriptions carved on it.

There was no handle on the door, and Hephis tried pushing it, but the door didn't budge.

He looked carefully and finally found a strange little hole on the side of the door, just big enough for a finger.

Out of curiosity, Hephis inserted his index finger into the small hole.

As soon as I put my index finger in, I felt something prick me lightly.

He quickly pulled back his finger, blood still flowing from his fingertips.

Hephis put his fingers in his mouth and sucked them.

The inscription on the black door suddenly lit up, and with a creaking sound, the door slowly opened and the lights in the house came on.

Hefeth couldn't help but complain: I won't get stabbed every time I enter this door, will I?
