Hogwarts in the shadows

Chapter 51 Swallowing the Dragon Egg Shadow

Hephis and Hermione walked side by side on the path back to the castle.

As the night deepened, the two people walked hand in hand under the starlight.

The castle covered in silver looks even more majestic in the night.

"Hermione, I'm sorry about what happened today." Hephis said sincerely.

"It's okay, Hephis, it's normal for boys to like dragons." Hermione smiled faintly, her voice soft.

Hephis was relieved to see that Hermione was indeed not angry.

"Thank you, Hermione."

"But raising a dragon is against the law. We have to persuade Hagrid." Hermione said worriedly.

"It's okay. It's illegal to raise a dragon if you're caught," Hephis corrected.

"But a mature Hungarian tree can grow up to fifty feet tall. How could it go unnoticed?"

"If you are discovered, just send him away." Hephis didn't care.

"Hepherd, Hagrid will be locked up in Azkaban." Hermione was a little angry and shook off Hepherd's hand.

"Hey! Hermione, do you know whose territory Hogwarts belongs to?" Hephis looked at Hermione helplessly.

"Uh...Principal Dumbledore?" Hermione was stunned.

"If something really happened, Dumbledore only had to say that the dragon was smuggled or flew here by itself. Would Hagrid still be responsible?"

"But what if the Ministry of Magic doesn't believe it? Isn't Hagrid..." She was still a little worried.

"Hermione, do you know why Headmaster Dumbledore is called the greatest white wizard of this century?"

There was a hint of helplessness in Hephis' eyes. Hermione still had too little experience.

"Because of capturing Grindelwald, and fighting Vol... Voldemort."

"Hermione, don't say that name, call him the You-Know-Who." Hephis said seriously.

"But I'm not afraid of him!" Hermione said unconvinced.

"Names are magical. Only wizards of the same rank can address each other by their given names. I don't want you to develop a bad habit now. The mysterious man is not dead yet. He will come back one day." Hephis explained.

"Ah! How could it be? Wasn't he killed by Harry?" Hermione's face was full of astonishment.

"Sadly not."

"Then how could he...but everyone said he was dead."

"I don't know about this either, but most of the pure-blood families in Slytherin are convinced that the You-Know-Who is not dead."

Hephis didn't know how to explain it, so he could only blame it on those pure-blood families.

"Okay! I understand. I'll pay attention." Hermione nodded.

"Good boy! Let's get back to business. Why is Headmaster Dumbledore called the greatest white wizard of this century? That's because he won."

Hephis took Hermione's hand again, looked at Hermione seriously, and continued.

"He is the most powerful wizard in the world. No one dares to disobey him as long as he wants."

"But the law." Hermione was still a little hesitant.

"Hermione, power is the law. As long as he can give a reason, even if everyone knows it is false, no one will risk offending him to expose it."

Hephis hadn't said half a sentence yet. If someone really did it, it must be that old Dumbledore who was cheating people.

Hephis's words had a great impact on Hermione.

Hermione has always been a well-behaved child, but these remarks almost shattered her conscience.

Hephis felt sorry for the devastated Hermione and suggested going to the Room of Requirement for dinner.

They came in a hurry and didn't even have time to eat dinner.

However, because it was almost curfew, Hermione refused to do anything.

Hefeis could only ask An An to help deliver dinner to the two of them in their respective dormitories.

Hermione left in a daze, still unable to accept this fact.

He was still too impatient and shouldn't have told Hermione this so early.

Hephis Dormitory——

Hephis is showing off like crazy.

Theodore stood aside, watching eagerly.

He couldn't help but feel a little doubtful.

Today is not the day to favor him!

Why call him over?

Watching Hephis show off his fans?

Give him the shadow first and then show off!

Seeing that Hephes looked like a starving ghost, he didn't dare to ask and could only wait obediently.

"Huh." Hephis finished the pumpkin juice in the cup in one breath and let out a long breath.

Hephis scratched his round belly, feeling very satisfied.

Seeing that Hefeth had finally finished eating, Theodore asked in confusion: "Hefeth, why did you call me here tonight?"

"I need your help with something." Hephis said slowly.

The energy reserves are in place, he is ready to give it a try and not wait any longer, after all, the opportunity is rare.

"I'll go through fire and water without hesitation." Theodore knelt on one knee with a firm tone.

"Hurry up and get down to business." Hephis shook his head helplessly.

He had told Theodore many times that there was no need to kneel.

But Theodore just wouldn't listen, and he was too lazy to talk now.

Theodore quickly stood up, sat down obediently, and waited for Hephes's instructions.

"I got a special shadow - of a dragon egg."

"Dragon eggs." Theodore exclaimed.

"Yes, I plan to devour it. But I don't know what the consequences will be after swallowing the shadow of a magical creature or a non-human creature. So..."

Theodore stood up suddenly and said excitedly: "I'll do it. Hephes let me do it."

"Calm down, Theodore." Hephis shouted in a deep voice.

"How can the master bear the risk? What should I do then?" Theodore couldn't calm down at all.

"Theodore, this is an order." Hephis' tone became stern.

"But Master..."

Theodore still refused to give up, but was interrupted by Hephes.

"Obey my orders or leave." Hephis's aura emanated involuntarily.

"Yes, master." Theodore replied through gritted teeth.

Looking at Theodore's expression, Hefeth could only explain a few words.

"Theodore, my physical strength and magical reserves are stronger than yours, so my chances of success are the greatest."

He paused and continued, "Now I put my life in your hands. I hope you won't let me down."

Theodore's eyes were red and he nodded vigorously.

Hephis took a deep breath, took out the prepared potions one by one, and placed them neatly in front of Theodore.

Then he took out the Felicis and dropped a drop into his mouth.

Hephesus slowly took out the shadow of the dragon egg, gritted his teeth and swallowed it into his stomach.

As soon as the shadow entered his stomach, Hephis lost consciousness and blood began to spurt out of his body.

Theodore's face changed drastically, and he quickly picked up the potion he had prepared in advance and poured it into Hephis' mouth.

But he found that Hephis couldn't even drink the potion, and he was instantly at a loss.

"What should I do? What should I do?" Theodore pinched his thigh anxiously, trying to calm himself down.
