Hogwarts in the shadows

Chapter 69: Heading to Knockturn Alley

Hephis took out an old wand from his small bag, along with some books he used for his first year at school.

All were placed on the table.

"Practice basic magic well, and I will help you grow quickly in the future."

"Yes, Master." Vanassa's hand unconsciously reached for the wand, but stopped in mid-air.

"What's wrong?" Hephis was a little puzzled.

Vanasha quickly calmed herself down and knelt down beside Hephis's legs again.

"Master, Vanasha is still a virgin. If you don't mind, Vanasha is willing to serve you." She looked at Hephes with loving eyes.

Hephis's face froze, and he smiled bitterly in his heart: This is too cruel! He is only 12 years old, it's illegal.

"Ahem... that's not necessary. You should make good use of the time to practice magic. There will be more important tasks for you later." Hephis said in a serious tone.

"But... yes, Master." There was a hint of loss in Vanasha's voice.

Hephis said nothing more, he turned and left the room, forgetting even to take the furniture.

Only then did Vanasa slowly stand up and walk to the window.

She looked at the beauty reflected in the glass, a faint smile appearing on the corner of her mouth, but the bitterness in her heart could not be shaken off.

The summer vacation lasts nearly two months, which is neither long nor short.

But there are still many things that Hefeis needs to plan.

He even made a special schedule for this purpose.

If this schedule fell into the hands of the Ministry of Magic, he would probably spend the rest of his life in Azkaban.

Three days passed in the blink of an eye.

After some disguise, Hephis once again came to the Leaky Cauldron.

He found old Tom and got a room.

Then he took out a tube of Polyjuice Potion that Theodore had obtained.

Hephis put a hair he found on the Knight Bus into the bottle.

The decoction immediately began to boil, like a bottle of boiling water, bubbling vigorously.

A second later, the originally clear liquid turned viscous and purple-black.

Hephis hesitated for a moment, but still pinched his nose and swallowed the decoction in one gulp.

The taste is a bit strange, like spinach juice, but not too bad.

His body began to change, a burning sensation quickly spreading from his stomach to his entire body, even reaching his fingers and toes.

He felt as if he was melting, and his skin began to blister as if it had been scalded by boiling water.

The hands and feet began to grow larger, and the whole body swelled.

Fortunately, the deformation process is very fast and the pain is fleeting.

Hephis looked down at the empty bottle on the ground.

Although it was his first time taking Polyjuice Potion, he was quite familiar with it.

After this experience, he found that this potion should have more potential to be explored.

When school starts, I can have a good chat with Snape.

Hephis quickly put on the clothes he had prepared in advance, not intending to waste time.

After all, the effectiveness of the polyjuice potion only lasts for one hour, so he must act quickly.

Hiding under his hood, Hephis quietly went downstairs and headed for Knockturn Alley.

There aren't many people in Diagon Alley today, and the street seems a bit deserted.

The wizards on the street seemed accustomed to his appearance and no one wanted to take a second look at him.

Knockturn Alley is not far from Diagon Alley. As soon as Hephis entered it, he could feel the strange atmosphere.

This place is almost entirely filled with black magic shops, with all kinds of strange and bloody plaques.

The decorations in front of each store are more bizarre than the other.

Withered human hands, bony human heads, bloodstained dry pots...

The only thing missing was writing the five big words “Dark Magic Shop” in front of the store.

Some wizards dressed the same as Hephis were wandering in the alley.

Hephis walked slowly in Knockturn Alley, searching for a suitable target.

He first calmly took out a Galleon from his pocket and held it in his palm.

He slowly walked to an inconspicuous corner where a wizard was curled up.

Before Hephis came close, the wizard suddenly opened his eyes, and his wand instantly slipped from his sleeve into his hand. He looked at Hephis warily.

Hephis stopped not far from the wizard and pointed his palm towards him.

The Galleon in his hand was particularly conspicuous through the gaps between his fingers.

The wizard did not let down his guard. He raised his left hand, signaling Hephis to come closer, but his right hand was still tightly holding the wand.

"What do you need from me?" the wizard's voice was hoarse.

"Help me keep an eye on someone."

"Who? How much is the reward?"

"One Galleon every ten days. As for who I need to monitor, I can't tell you now." Hephis replied calmly.

"Too little, three days." The wizard frowned.

"Haha, three days? People like you are worthy of it." Hephis sneered.

The wizard's expression remained unchanged as he continued to bargain, "Five days, that's the market price."

"Okay, I've booked a room at the Leaky Cauldron. The man will be here in the next few days, you can stay there first." Hephis nodded.

The wizard hesitated when he heard this. It was indeed too dangerous for someone like him to enter the Leaky Cauldron.

It's just that he doesn't have much money on him now, and if he's just under surveillance, the risk is really not that big.

"Pay the deposit first." The wizard stretched out his left hand.

Hephis threw the Galleon directly to the wizard.

The wizard caught the gold coin steadily and looked at Hephes in surprise.

"That person may come at an uncertain time, so this Galleon will serve as a deposit," Hephis explained.

The wizard held the Galleon and seemed to have some evil thoughts.

"I still have a lot of work to do. Do you want to run away with this Galleon or make more money from me? It's up to you to decide."

Hephis said lightly, and took out a purse and shook it, and a crisp metal collision sound suddenly came out from it.

A trace of greed suddenly flashed in the wizard's eyes.

He licked his lips and glanced around.

"Which room did you book?"

"Third floor, the one on the far left."

The wizard nodded and walked towards the exit of Knockturn Alley, but the distance between him and Hephis was getting shorter.

He raised his wand and suddenly struck out, "Stupefy!"

Almost at the same time, four other voices sounded:

"Choke and seal the tongue!"

"Shattered to pieces!"

"Confinement quickly!"

"Confuse the public!"

Hephis had been waiting for this moment, without any panic.

He waved his wand gracefully, and walls of earth rose from the ground.

All those spells hit the earth wall, making dull echoes.

At the same time, five black snakes sprang out from the shadows of the five people and coiled around them like ribbons.

The black snake bit the wands they were holding, and they screamed and their wands fell to the ground.

Hephis cast five consecutive stunning spells, hitting all five people and causing them to fall to the ground.

He deftly stuffed them one by one into the newly bought box.

The space in the box was limited, and the five of them just filled it up.

The others in Knockturn Alley just watched coldly and had no intention of taking action.

They gathered in twos and threes, wands clutched in their hands.

Those who were originally in the store also came out and stood in the distance to watch the fun.

Of course Hephis had no time to waste. He picked up the box and turned to leave Knockturn Alley.
