Hogwarts in the shadows

Chapter 7 Ollivander's Wand Making

The atmosphere of their shopping trip to Diagon Alley was more harmonious and pleasant.

Professor McGonagall led Hephis through the bustling crowd and introduced many things about Hogwarts in detail.

She introduced the characteristics of the four colleges very impartially, as well as some things to note about Hogwarts, except how to sort the colleges.

I don't know if it's because of that boring tradition, but Professor McGonagall automatically ignored it.

Professor McGonagall first took Hephis to Madam Malkin's robe shop and bought three plain black robes.

Hephis's complaining spirit could no longer be suppressed.

After Madam Malkin operated on him for a while, he got three robes that were very loose and could not be said to fit him at all.

Anyway, the robes for new students are all plain and not made to fit the body, so can’t they be made into finished products directly?

Also, there are only three clothing stores in the entire Diagon Alley, and they only sell robes and outerwear. What about other things?

What about underwear?

Are these wizards all idle?

If not, where can I buy other clothes?

Can someone give him a rough explanation?

Afterwards, Hephis and Professor McGonagall came to Flourish and Blotts.

In addition to the books on the purchase list, Hefeth also purchased some additional books that interested him.

Then, at the suggestion of Professor McGonagall, I bought a small suitcase that could perform the traceless extension spell.

Their steps then turned to the Crucible and the Drug Store.

Hefes has temporarily ruled out pet stores because he has no plans to keep a pet at the moment.

Finally, they arrived at the wand shop, the most important destination of this trip.

Ollivanders: Making Fine Wands Since 382 BC

"This is it, the best wand-making shop in the world," Professor McGonagall introduced.

When they stepped into the store, a clear bell rang from somewhere in the store.

It was a very small place with nothing in it except a chair.

Hephaestus couldn't help but complain in his heart.

This old and dilapidated house is the most important weapons supplier to the British wizarding world!

But that's true, except for freshmen, few people will buy a wand again.

This was a one-time deal, no wonder Ollivanders had no money to renovate the store.

"Ah! Lady Minerva. Fir wood, dragon heartstring, 13 inches, if I remember correctly."

The unkempt Ollivander suddenly appeared from behind the shelf, startling Hephes.

"Of course, your memory is as good as ever. He is Hephes Dam! A freshman this year." Professor McGonagall said gently.

Before Hephis could react, he was pushed by Professor McGonagall and came in front of Ollivander.

"Oh, of course, kid, which hand do you prefer?"

"Right hand."

Ollivander pulled a tape measure from his pocket and measured from the shoulder to the fingertips, up and down, left and right, like an old tailor, even measuring the circumference of the head.

Ollivander didn't even look at the tape measure as he walked through the shelves, muttering to himself. Ten thousand words are omitted here.

Then he took out a box from the shelf inside and handed it to Hephis.

"Beechwood, dragon heartstring, 9 inch size, very powerful, give it a try."

Hephis took possession of the weapon and swung it, and a ball of white light suddenly exploded, which startled him.

"No, no, no...it's definitely not that!" Ollivander snatched the wand back and continued to mutter to himself while looking for a new wand.

"Maple wood, phoenix feathers, 7 inches, very elastic, give it a try."

Heffies was about to try, but before he could raise the cane, Ollivander snatched it back.

"No, no, ebony, unicorn hair, eight and a half inches, tough and loyal."

"No, it's not. Ebony, ptarmigan feather, twelve inches, hard and straight."

Hephis tried again and again, and the pile of tried wands was getting higher and higher on the chair.

But as more wands were brought out, Ollivander became more and more excited, his eyes sparkling.

"Don't worry, you're a very picky customer. We'll definitely find one that suits you. And why not?"

Ollivander walked to the end and pulled out a wand box from the bottom shelf.

"Elderwood, phoenix feathers, thirteen inches, a very unique combination, and very picky."

As soon as Hephis held the wand, the magical power that he had not felt before penetrated into the wand.

He waved it gently, and a black and golden flame emerged from one end of the wand, and dancing sparks splashed all around.

"Ah! What a perfect, unique choice! Death and life coexisting side by side."

Ollivander's wrinkled old face trembled with excitement and he couldn't help but sigh.

"I have only successfully made this magic wand with this combination. Destiny is waiting for your arrival. Everything is destined..."

Hephis complained in his heart: "Old Deng, isn't this bullshit? There is no identical leaf in the world, not to mention the pattern of trees. You really think I'm a complete novice, don't you? You just act cool all day long!"

Ollivander continued to tell the origin of the wand.

How did he come up with this idea, how did he choose the right materials, and how carefully did he polish it to the current pattern and length...

And so on, there is an endless stream of talk.

It wasn't until Professor McGonagall coughed softly that Ollivander came back to his senses.

"Remember, child, that the wand chooses the wizard."

Ollivander stared at Hephaestus.

Hephis could only nod slightly.

"Maeke, seven galleons."

Hephthah paid the bill and Ollivander bowed as they left his shop.

After a long and exciting trip to Diagon Alley, Professor McGonagall sent Hephesus back home.

Before leaving, she repeatedly confirmed with Hephis whether he needed someone to accompany him to King's Cross Station.

Only after Hephis repeatedly assured her that he could go alone did Professor McGonagall agree.

She explained the precautions for Platform Nine and Three Quarters and waved her wand gently.

With a "puff" sound, the shadow disappeared into the night.

Hephis spent his money to enjoy a sumptuous dinner, robbed someone by the way, and then went home happily.

At this moment, he was flipping through a book called "Magic Diagrams and Magic Prescriptions", searching for the formula of magic potions that could enhance physical fitness.

However, after a quick look through it, he did not find what he needed.

Hephis was not discouraged. He bought many books about potions.

Even if he couldn't find even these books, the rich collection of books in the Hogwarts library would surely provide him with clues.

If that doesn't work, just go find Snape.

Hmm...Snape doesn't seem to be easy to approach.

But his eyes are also green, so is that okay?

No, no, he's straight.

It must not be bent, not even 1.
