Hogwarts in the shadows
Chapter 72: Gathering at Diagon Alley
Theodore lived in the old Blaine house all summer.
There is shielding detection magic in the old house, so you can practice spells freely.
Although you can use those spare wands, it is more appropriate to use your own wand.
After Humphreys returned from the Malfoys, he lived in South Kensington.
He had a lot of things to do in the Muggle world, and it was really inconvenient for him to live in the old house.
The first is Vanasha. Since she was able to use magic, her growth rate has far exceeded Hephis' expectations.
In just half a month, she had mastered all the first-year spells.
Even Hephes is inferior to Vanassa in talent.
Therefore, during the period before school started, Hephis devoted most of his energy to the training of Vanasha.
He directly let Vanasa devour the shadow of a wizard and keep it in her body for a long time to make it grow faster.
There was another reason why Hephis chose to leave the old house, and that was Hermione.
When he lived in the old house, he could only use owls to contact Hermione.
The owl was also a gift from Hagrid, given to him along with the other magical creatures in the trunk.
The owl's name was given by Hermione at that time, Skadi.
But since Heffers moved to South Kensington, Skadi has been unemployed again.
During the summer vacation, Hephis and Hermione went out and had fun several times.
Hermione seems to have a special liking for places like haunted houses.
With An An's help, she took Hephis to visit all the famous haunted houses in the UK.
Hephis complained in her heart more than once that there were so many ghosts in Hogwarts and they were still not enough for her to see!
Mrs. Granger's skin, with the help of the beauty potion, changed noticeably.
She looked at least ten years younger, which made her even more enthusiastic about Hephis.
Every time she knew Hephes was coming, she would prepare a large table of delicious food to entertain Hephes.
Hermione always couldn't help but complain about this, saying that Heffies looked more like Mrs. Granger's biological child.
Hefes expressed his helplessness. Shouldn't pleasing the mother-in-law be a necessary skill for every prospective son-in-law?
One fine morning, Hephis received a letter from Hogwarts.
The basic content of the letter was: On September 1st, take the Hogwarts "Express" train from King's Cross Station and return to school.
In addition, the letter also included a list of books for the second year of study.
The Standard Book of Spells (Level 2) by Miranda Goshawk.
And seven novels by Gilderoy Lockhart, a con man and bookseller.
Less than ten minutes after Hefeth received the letter, the phone rang.
"Hephis, have you received the book list?" Hermione's voice came from the receiver.
"Just received it, it seems you received it too." Hefeth said with a smile.
"Have you read it? Almost all of it are Gilderoy Lockhart's books. He must be a very knowledgeable wizard." Hermione's tone was full of admiration.
"Gilderoy Lockhart? That guy is just a novelist. How can he know anything about science?" Hephis said disapprovingly.
"Hephis, what novel? Those are textbooks, the teaching materials specified by Hogwarts." Hermione said seriously.
"Okay, okay, it's the textbook," Hephis said soothingly.
"So are you free next Wednesday? I want to go to Diagon Alley to do some shopping, do you want to come with me?"
"Of course, I'll pick you up? Or will your uncle and aunt go with you?" Hephis asked.
"They also want to go to Diagon Alley together." Hermione said a little embarrassedly.
"Okay, let's meet at the Leaky Cauldron at nine in the morning." Hephis didn't care.
"Okay, Hephis." Hermione was very happy.
They talked on the phone for a long time, and most of the content of their conversation revolved around study-related matters.
Hephis listened quietly to Hermione's complaints. She always complained that she couldn't practice magic at home during the holidays.
But he told Hermione that they could go to Brian's old house, where they could perform magic at will.
But Hermione didn't want to violate the Ministry of Magic's regulations.
So! Hephis is just listening and complaining along.
On Wednesday, when Hephis arrived at the Broken Axe, he saw Hermione walking in with her parents' hands.
He hurried forward and greeted them warmly: "Uncle, Auntie, Hermione, good morning!"
Before Hermione could open her mouth, Mrs. Granger took his hand affectionately.
"Heffie, have you had breakfast?" She glanced at Hermione in a reproachful manner, "I told you to bring some breakfast, but Hermione wouldn't let me."
"Thank you, Auntie. I've already eaten." After saying that, Hephis took Mrs. Granger's hand and walked towards the backyard.
Hermione and Mr. Granger looked at each other, shrugged helplessly, and followed.
Not long after, Hephis and Hermione arrived at Gringotts to exchange Galleons.
In order not to disturb them, Mr. and Mrs. Granger had gone shopping.
It was only during her last conversation with Hephis that Hermione learned that in addition to pounds, precious metals could also be exchanged.
This made her very sad that she had exchanged one thousand Galleons less in the last school year.
To use Hermione's own words, the loss of a thousand Galleons meant she had to buy fewer books!
Fortunately, Hermione can be considered a wealthy woman now, after all, Hagrid always gives her things.
But they still exchanged them for 1100 Galleons. After all, it can only be exchanged for seven years, so it would be a waste not to exchange it!
As soon as they stepped out of Gringotts' door, Hagrid and Harry appeared before them.
"Hi! Hagrid, Harry," they waved at the same time.
Harry looked up and saw Hephis and Hermione standing on the steps of Gringotts.
"Oh, Harry, what's wrong with your glasses?" Hermione asked, looking at Harry who was covered in coal dust.
"I just..." Harry glanced at Hephis, paused and said, "By the way, have you seen the Weasleys?"
"I think you'll be able to see them soon." Hagrid smiled.
They looked around and saw the five Weasley men walking quickly towards them through the crowded street.
"Harry, I hope you only missed an oven door..." Mr. Weasley panted. "Molly is going crazy."
"Where did you come from?" Ron asked curiously.
"Knockturn Alley," said Hagrid in a deep voice.
"That's great!" the twins shouted together.
"The adults never let us go." Ron said enviously.
"I think it's best not to go," said Hagrid gruffly.
Just then, Mrs. Weasley hurried over, holding Ginny's hand.
Mrs. Weasley worriedly began to brush the soot off Harry with a coat brush.
After that, Heffernan and Hermione got to know each other, the Weasleys and Ginny, and then left.
