Hogwarts: The Wizarding World's First Capitalist

Chapter 347 Grindelwald's Routine

"What nonsense are you talking about!" Carl's face turned red and he looked at Grindelwald in disbelief.

"I can't believe you said such words. They are far from what I expected from you at the beginning."

"I thought that if I could really meet you one day, I would have a powerful ally who could provide unlimited help for my future plans."

"But I didn't expect that what I got was just a pervert who likes to pay attention to other people's private lives."

"Pervert?" Grindelwald also seemed a little angry. He looked directly into Carl's eyes and said without flinching.

"You can't use these words to describe me, your biological father. I'm just fulfilling my responsibilities as a father."

"Father's responsibility?" Carl looked disdainful.

"I didn't even know you existed until I was 10 years old, when I was imprisoned in that dark hell."

"Where is my father? I don't even know how I was born."

"Who are you to talk about father's responsibility? If Aunt Wenda Rozier hadn't found me, I might still be wandering the streets of New York."

"There wasn't even a legal identity, and of course there may not be one now."

Hearing this, Grindelwald's eyes looked a little lonely. He slowly leaned back in the chair, lowered his eyes and said helplessly.

"I'm sorry kid, the situation was too chaotic. Even the Muggle world was thrown into chaos by the war."

"When I learned that you were born as nothing more than a soulless shell, I lost all hope."

"It is even more impossible to expect that one day that body will truly give birth to a soul. I have always believed that that magic was a huge mistake."

"We never gave up looking for you, but we never thought that you were imprisoned in a place like that. I am really sorry for you."

When he spoke, Grindelwald's tone was extremely dejected, and that sense of helplessness and sadness magnified his old age.

Carl suddenly realized that the person in front of him was no longer the high-spirited demon king who made the entire European magic world tremble.

He was just an old centenarian, looking at the other's face which was no longer young and full of sadness.

Karl inevitably felt a little sad. He took a deep breath and looked at the other party and said.

"Okay, all the past has turned to ashes with that fire. There is no need for us to discuss it anymore."

"The most perfect regret is not as good as a flawed action, as long as you stop asking such stupid questions."

"I can still forgive you."

"That won't work!" Karl had just said he wanted to forgive the other party when Grindelwald suddenly raised his head and looked at him with that disrespectful smile.

He stretched out a finger and kept waving it while speaking.

"I can agree to all your previous requests, and even give you a lot of compensation, but I can't agree to that one."

“What!!” Carl’s cheek twitched as he looked at the old man in front of him who changed his attitude faster than turning the pages of a book.

"What's wrong with you? You want me to forgive you with this attitude."

Facing Carl's questioning, Grindelwald seemed justified. He took out a bunch of keys from his pocket and placed them in front of Carl.

The keys have various shapes, including gorgeous keys made of pure gold, bronze keys covered with rust, and even some electronic keys that look very advanced at first glance.

There were so many of them that it was estimated that there were at least 10 of them. They were strung together by a metal king and placed on the dining table between the two of them.

Grindelwald pointed at the keys and said with a smile.

"I will never shirk my responsibilities. This is part of my compensation to you. As for the request you just made."

"Please forgive me for not being able to agree to this, because that is my last right as a father and I must keep it."

Looking at those colorful keys, Karl's cheeks twitched wildly and he said with disdain.

"If I'm not mistaken, these are just some keys to the vault. Do you think I'm still short of money now?"

"And the plan I'm going to implement next can't be accomplished with money alone. I need a strong ally."

"Instead of a pile of cold money, it's the gold coins lying in the vault and the cold numbers in the bank account, which are meaningless to me now."

"And I want to ask, what is the final right of a father? Would a good father be a pervert who wants to know about his child's private life all day long?"

"Don't be so harsh, kid, and don't use that adjective." Grindelwald restrained his smile and sighed as he looked at Carl.

His face was full of helplessness, which made Carl beside him a little scared, and he started to question.

"Is there something wrong with me? You keep shaking your head and sighing. I'm really uncomfortable with you."

"Not a child." Grindelwald shook his head helplessly. "You don't have any problem. Or rather, your only problem is that you are too good."

"What bullshit is this?" Carl was confused by this sentence.

Grindelwald had taken a glass of beer in his hand at some point and explained while drinking it.

"I wasn't wrong kid. Your biggest problem is being too good. Let's just list them briefly."

"The help a father can provide to his child, the care and support he needs to grow up when he is young, is something I can no longer do."

"I don't need to help him learn during his student career. There is probably no one more talented than you in Hogwarts. Any magic is easy for you."

"Then it would be a good idea to extend this to provide guidance and help for his career when he grows up."

"You are now the richest person in the British wizarding world. Your name will definitely be on the Forbes rich list in the United States next year."

"So what can I do? Nothing."

As he spoke, Grindelwald poured a full glass of beer into his stomach, like a middle-aged man who had just been called a waste by his boss in the company.

His whole body exuded a decadent atmosphere, and he looked at Karl helplessly, then sighed again, slowly stretched out two fingers, and continued.

"Then in addition to the above, the only two things I can do are to provide you with some life advice when you feel confused in your life."

"But this one is no longer possible. I have never seen you confused. You are more goal-oriented than I was back then."

"You can keep moving forward according to your own inner thoughts, take revenge when it's time to take revenge, and do whatever you want."

"In contrast, rather than giving you life advice, it's more likely that you'll give me and Alti life advice."

"So!" Grindelwald slammed his empty beer glass on the table and stared at Carl.

"As a father now, there is only one thing I can do, and that is to help my child when he is lost in adolescence."

"Provide him with valuable advice to prevent him from missing out on the true love in his heart due to worldly prejudices."

"And before the other party is actually married, you should always be on guard. So, which one do you like?"

"Is it our gentle and lovely Mr. Diggory, or the cold and professional Mr. Lestrange?"
