Hogwarts: The Wizarding World's First Capitalist

Chapter 543: Traveling back in time from the future to the present?

When I came out of Professor Snape's secret chemistry laboratory, it was already late at night and the whole Hogwarts was unusually quiet.

The drama rehearsal in the morning consumed too much energy of these young wizards, even the most noisy little lions of Gryffindor House.

Carl seemed particularly obedient and quiet that night. Walking in the empty corridor, changed back into men's clothes, he looked at the dark night sky outside the corridor.

He unconsciously developed a sense of loneliness, which drove him back to his dormitory for some unknown reason.

Looking at the familiar yet unfamiliar house in front of him, Carl hesitated. He hadn't walked into it for more than a week.

Kevin Lestrange was the first to move out of the house after Cedric went crazy writing code.

He asked for a suitcase for himself, moved his office and bedroom into it, and slept alone in a corner of the Hufflepuff common room.

Because Carl had made so many mistakes recently, he rarely stayed in Hogwarts at night, and over time he had forgotten about it.

He also had a poor little dog, which he had forgotten in a corner.

It just so happened that in this quiet night, the inexplicable feeling of emptiness and loneliness made him want to find someone to chat with.

Or maybe just being together is enough.

Driven by this thought, he slowly pushed open the door of his dormitory and walked in quietly.

When I entered the room, the smelly scene I had imagined did not appear. The whole room looked very clean and tidy.

Carl looked around with some disappointment. It seemed that Cedric had fallen asleep. He smiled bitterly and was about to leave, but suddenly heard a familiar voice behind him.

"Intruder detected. Dormitory defense system activated. Already sending a distress signal to the nearest target for help."

The voice was so familiar that Carl couldn't help but feel a little surprised, because if he heard it correctly, it should be his voice.

It just sounds a lot more childish, a bit like the voice he had before he grew up and his voice changed.

Shortly after the voice of "Little Carl" ended, the dormitory door that had just been opened was immediately closed.

A string of red signal lights above my head began to flash continuously, accompanied by a sound of mechanical rotation, which appeared in a corner of the room.

A solid fortress was created instantly, even though only simple wooden planks were used, and at the same time, Carl felt a vibration in his pocket.

He reached in and found that it was his cell phone ringing. He took it out and saw an urgent message from Cedric.

The content is very simple.

"Come and save me. (灬? ?灬)"

Looking at the emoticons behind the text, Carl's cheeks twitched wildly, and his mentality also exploded a little. I didn't expect it to take so long.

This guy came up with something like this, and Carl felt that his research funds were wasted.

He walked angrily towards the "solid fortress" and punched through the thin wooden board in front of him with a straight punch.

Then he ripped the wooden door open and shouted angrily.

"What the hell are you doing here, you......"

The angry words were stuck in his throat and he couldn't utter them. The scene before him made him really not know what to do.

Cedric was alone, curled up in this small corner, surrounded by two huge servers.

There were several display screens in front of him, with countless 1s and 0s jumping on the screens, and as for Cedric himself.

Karl didn't know how to describe it for a moment. After thinking for a long time, he only thought of an adjective that was more appropriate, which was "sloppy".

Messy hair, dark circles under the eyes from staring at the computer for too long, and a greasy face from too much blue light radiation.

There were also a pair of eyes that contained fear and some surprise.

Cedric was also looking at Carl, and it was obvious that he was very happy to see Carl suddenly, but that happiness did not last long.

Soon he began his clumsy performance, pouting his lips with an unsatisfied look and speaking in a sarcastic tone.

"Hey, hey, isn't this our busy man, Mr. Hohenzollern? I didn't expect you to have time to return to your dormitory."

"I came to visit you, my roommate who has been neglected for a long time. I have already sent my food application report five times. Are you really not afraid that I will starve to death here?"

"It seems that the gentle countryside in the drama did not make you lose your mind. You even came to see your chief engineer."

Faced with Cedric's sour and sarcastic attitude, Carl adopted the simplest and most brutal method of dealing with it, and directly chopped the big head with a knife.

Then, after briefly washing the guy's face with magic, he pointed at the strange equipment in front of him and said with some confusion.

"What is this? Aren't you writing programs for the next generation of mobile phones? How could this kind of hardware be in our dormitory?"

"And what's with that strange noise that just appeared? What the hell are you doing here?"

Hearing this, Cedric immediately straightened his chest, looked proud, and stood up with a smile.

Then he stretched out his hands in an exaggerated manner, pointing at the device behind him that was still running the program and said.

"Let me introduce to you the world's first truly useful artificial intelligence, "Kaldric"

"I am here!!"

The familiar "Little Carl" voice appeared again, and a green screen flashing 1s and 0s appeared, and suddenly a pair of big pixel-style eyes appeared.

Those eyes were so cute and silly, looking around curiously, looking at those eyes and that familiar answer.

Carl was stunned on the spot, while Cedric on the other side was stroking the computer screen with excitement on his face.

"I remember that there were several sets of conceptual drawings in the wafer factory you built in the UK. Those were very innovative GPU drawings."

"Using advanced manufacturing technology, more than 5000 Kutta cores are integrated on a single chip, and the number of transistors stacked has exceeded 10 billion for the first time."

“When I saw this blueprint, I thought that the computing power improvement brought by this thing might not only provide improvements for traditional software projects.”

"We can use it to create a real artificial intelligence, deeply reshape the underlying framework, and give the program the ability of deep learning."

"If this idea can really come true, then this program will definitely help humans break through the limits of productivity in the future."

"As long as productivity is once again revolutionized, there will be no need for mankind to engage in so many terrible and tragic conflicts over limited survival resources."

Cedric was so excited and so happy, his face was filled with a smile from the heart.

This kind of smile is not because of doing something great, so it seems a bit complacent and proud.

This smile was so pure, so pure that Carl couldn't bear to break the fantasy in the other person's mind.

After taking several deep breaths, Carl shook his head helplessly.

Seeing Carl shaking his head, Cedric's face darkened instantly, but soon, he took the initiative and tried hard to keep smiling.

"I know what you want to say. Not to mention that this artificial intelligence is still in its early stages and can only answer simple questions based on the information it has already learned."

"Or we can follow the existing procedures and do some simple work. For example, this set of equipment that keeps it in existence is so large that it is obviously not ready for the civilian market."

"What's more, if we take this equipment out now, it will only stay in the advanced laboratories of various universities."

"But don't worry, I still have this."

As he said that, Cedric turned his head to look at the "big eyes" and shouted loudly.

"Kaldric, show the video program currently being developed."

"Okay, let's start showing the developed video programs and various functional demonstrations."

As the voice of "Little Carl" disappeared, the computer screen, which had been flashing numbers, immediately began to display various images.

Looking at the familiar UI and the text description next to it, Carl had to admit that he was shocked once again.

If he was not dazzled, the program in front of him was the short video that was very popular before he traveled through time.

Looking at this perfectly running program, he turned to look at the excited Cedric and asked with a bit of a smile.

"Why are you doing this?"
