Chapter 110 Buying a House

"Dad, you sit in the front passenger seat. Mom and I will sit in the back seat." She squeezed in between the two of them, wanting to ask if the pregnancy test stick was taken away by her.

Father Li was not happy, "No, if I sit in the passenger seat, I will quarrel with Xiao Li."

Kong Zhixi was sitting uncomfortably in the passenger seat. His mother should be able to read the pregnancy test stick, right? Is she really pregnant? The two elderly people sitting in the back seat smiled at them from time to time.

"What's wrong with you?" Li Li asked while driving. "Nothing, I just wanted to have something cold."

"Hey, you can't eat anything cold or icy now. Although it's still early, you still have to be careful." Mother Li sat forward unconsciously and reminded.

"Mom, did you really see it?" She knew she must have seen it.

"Ah, but don't worry, I didn't say it. I understand." She waved her hand and winked at her.

"What did you see?" These three people started hiding something from him again.

Li's mother covered for her, "It's nothing, it's a secret between us, I'll let you know when the time comes."

She explained to the back row with difficulty, "No, Mom, you misunderstood. That's not what I meant."

"Ah? Two bars means nothing?" Li's mother blurted out in a hurry.

The driver immediately knew what it meant, and he braked suddenly and stopped on the road. The car behind him rear-ended him, and he subconsciously protected his stomach on the passenger seat. After parking the car, he asked, "Really?"

The driver of the car behind got out and knocked on the window. Kong Zhixi frowned, tilted his head and uttered two words with difficulty: "No!" He got the answer, unbuckled his seat belt, got out of the car and apologized to the driver.

Li's mother said, "I saw what looked like two bars." Li's father also asked, "Did you bring it out? Can't you just take a look at it?"

"No, I threw it in the trash can." Li's mother thought that this thing would be useless after the test.

"Then let's go back and take a look?" Kong Zhixi was not sure whether it was true or not.

"Then... ask Xiao Li to turn around and go back?" Father Li glanced at his son who was apologizing to someone outside.

"Don't worry, come back and have a look after you've looked at the houses." She thought the two elders were a little cute and couldn't help laughing.

Li Li apologized and asked again in the car: "Really?"

Father Li, sitting in the back row, answered: "Oh, we'll know when we get back. Let's go check out the house first."

"After looking at the house, why don't we go directly to the hospital for a check-up?" He was a little impatient to know the result.

"No need. After you finish looking at the houses, go home and check again. What if it doesn't fit?" Seeing his expectant look, she also wanted to know the result.

Mother Li felt it was a pity and couldn't help but sigh: "Oh, I thought Zhixi wanted to give you a surprise, but now it's all exposed."

"This was supposed to be a surprise." He felt that if she was pregnant it would be icing on the cake, but if she wasn't, it was also a good thing, at least his wife would still be his.

After visiting several real estate agencies, the opinions of several people were more or less different. The three of them exchanged glances and felt that after all, this house was for them as a couple, and the name on the house was Kong Zhixi, so they let her decide in the end.

After much deliberation, she decided on a house in a residential area not far from her original house, thinking that it would be convenient for them to get together and that it would be suitable for them to go home for meals. Most importantly, the price was within their affordable range, and she calculated the monthly payment and it was also suitable.

After signing the house contract and completing the formalities, they couldn't wait to go home and look through the trash can. They found only one line. Li Li breathed a sigh of relief, but Li's father and mother were a little disappointed.

"Um...it's my fault. This thing shouldn't be thrown around." She felt a little embarrassed for causing such a misunderstanding.

"It's okay, there will be time in the future." Li's mother comforted her. Li Li also climbed onto her shoulders and said, "This way we can have a few more years of just being the two of us." He held her tightly and refused to let go.

Li's mother said it was time to go out to buy groceries, and he dragged her along.

In the supermarket, she asked, "Aren't you disappointed?" He pushed the shopping cart, put his arm around her shoulders and replied, "Actually, I don't really want a child. By then, your attention will be entirely on the child, so there won't be room for me."

"Then you..." She thought he was just trying to coax her. "I'm afraid you want a child. Having a child is icing on the cake, but I care about you more. We don't spend much time together, and if we have a child, won't you have even less time to spend with me? Besides, we have a mortgage now, and raising a child is stressful." He went to choose beef.

Why did she want to have a child? It seemed to be to divert her parents' conflict about her divorce. What about now? Was it because of their relationship or age? She didn't know, but she felt that she would have to have a child sooner or later.

"Are you still going to have the baby?" she asked from behind. "Just let nature take its course." After choosing the beef, I prepared to pay the bill and leave.

Zhang's parents went to the police station to inquire about the progress of the case. Kong Zhixi pulled them to sit on a stool at the door, poured them some hot water, and said, "The case is definitely related to the Zhao family, but the specific murderer is still under investigation. The criminal police will notify you of any progress. Don't worry, someone is always investigating."

"We came here because we have something to say." The old lady hesitated and looked at her husband, who also frowned, not knowing whether to say it.

"Just tell us, this is the police station, it's very safe." She comforted them, and seeing that the old lady was wearing thin clothes, she took out her own scarf and put it on her.

"The Zhao family sent someone to discuss compensation with us, saying it was out of humanitarianism. What do you think?" The old lady finally spoke out.

This was the first time she heard of a company asking for humanitarian compensation before the case was fully investigated. "Compensation?"

"They hope that we will take the money and drop the case." The old man stated their purpose.

"Do you know what that person's name is?" She looked at her colleagues around her, but no one was paying attention to them.

"Zhou Yaming." The old man took out a business card and handed it to her.

"If the case is dropped, Xiaotang's death would really be in vain." She looked at the business card and knew that she could not compromise with them on this matter.

"Officer Kong, is there really someone investigating the case?" The old lady was a little worried, thinking that they were rich and powerful after all.

"The truth will come out one day, don't worry." After seeing the two people off, she felt a little worried.

Zhou Yaming, she looked up this person from the household registration office and found out that he was Zhao Yanxin's bodyguard and had been detained for theft when he was young. She took a photo of his business card and showed it to Li Li, telling him what Zhang's parents had said.

After receiving the news, Li Li asked Liu Yanjun and Xiao Zhao to find Zhou Yaming. According to his confession, the reason he talked to them about compensation was to gain their forgiveness so that Zhao Zhiting would not be sentenced too heavily. This was also what Zhao Yanxin meant. After all, they are uncle and nephew, so they should be saved.

"Can you just withdraw a criminal case like that? Did you know that someone has died?" Liu Yanjun didn't believe what he said.

"So you have to pay compensation. Even though it happened after get off work, whether it's out of humanitarianism or to save your uncle, this is what you should do, right, officer? " He was not panicked at all.

"Don't you look even more guilty like a thief by doing this?" Li Li appeared, took his information and threw it to Liu Yanjun.

"Officer, I am only following orders. The leader is kind-hearted and helping the lonely elderly is a good deed." He said lazily, and Liu Yanjun became even angrier.

Because no direct relationship between them was found, they had to release him first. According to the clues given by Fu Yan, the Zhao family’s casino and KTV were basically sealed off.

Kong Zhixi found a stool and sat on the balcony to unpack and wash the summer police uniforms. Li's father sat in the living room watching TV and complained: "Has Little Li not been home for almost a month?"

"No, I just come home late and go out early in the morning," she replied.

"His birthday is coming up soon, and I don't know if I'll have time to celebrate it."

"Birthday?" She suddenly stopped what she was doing. Why do such days come one after another?

"Yeah, this kid probably doesn't even remember. Why don't the three of us go out for a meal and not bring him along." The financial news was still on TV.

"I think it's okay, Zhixi, what do you think?" Li's mother also asked.

"It's my son's birthday and my wife's suffering day, so I can't let him get away with it. Daughter-in-law, how about we go out for dinner and let him pay?" Father Li added.

"How do I give it to you?" The shoulder straps of the police uniform had been removed. The two elders looked at her in unison, as if to say, "You're not going to be able to handle this." "I ask?" She pointed at herself.
