Unfortunately, due to the limitations of current equipment, chemical synthesis and material processing technology cannot accurately control the composition and microstructure of magnesia carbon bricks, so it is still difficult to develop magnesia carbon bricks at this stage. We can only hope to replace them after the successful development of chemical equipment in the future.

At least at this stage, magnesia-chrome bricks should be sufficient to construct the main structure of the oxygen top-blown converter. As for the internal structure, magnesia-dolomite bricks, dolomite bricks, and magnesia-chrome bricks can be used alternately to extend the service life of the oxygen top-blown converter.

As for steel, Zhou Tian had previously provided several formulas for military factories. Although they were not as good as Type P steel, they were sufficient for the shell and frame of oxygen top-blown converters.

The only thing that bothers him now is the choice of material for the oxygen lance.

Compared with general high-temperature materials, the steel required for the oxygen lance needs to withstand higher temperatures and must be guaranteed to have a sufficient service life. Otherwise, the life of the oxygen lance will be too short, which will easily affect the efficiency of the oxygen top-blown converter.

It’s not that he doesn’t have such a recipe, but he is struggling with which one to choose.

In the past, the oxygen lances of many oxygen top-blown converters used three types of steel: stainless steel, cemented carbide and special alloy steel.

These three types of steel have their own advantages and disadvantages. However, considering the parameters of the virtual space in my mind, it seems that the stainless steel oxygen lance is more suitable.

Having made the decision, Zhou Tian wrote down the stainless steel formula in his mind, and also wrote down the previous formulas and experimental steps of magnesia-chrome bricks, dolomite bricks, and magnesium-dolomite bricks.
