The End of the World: Chaos

Chapter 452 No Need to Fear

Wanda slowly pursed her lips, as if to echo her emotions. "Who are you?" She asked again, with a slight tremor and uneasiness in her tone.

Yang Yi stared at her, smiling, his eyes gentle and firm, like a ray of sunshine in the cold winter. He tilted his head slightly and responded slowly: "I am just a traveler passing by here, and I have no intention of making enemies with you. You don't have to be afraid."

Wanda felt mixed emotions, wariness and curiosity intertwined. She thought to herself, "How can this person be so calm? Why is he so indifferent to me here?" She sneered, with a hint of disdain in her eyes, "A passerby? Even so, you can't easily step into this place!"

"I understand your concerns," Yang Yi nodded in a gentle manner, "but I am not here to be your enemy. I have other intentions."

"If you don't want to cause trouble here, then what is your purpose?" Wanda remained vigilant, the red energy on her arms never diminishing, as if reminding her of her sense of crisis.

"My purpose is simple," Yang Yi leaned forward slightly, his breath friendly, "I want to help you. Seeing you trapped in this situation, I feel very sad."

Wanda was stunned, and seemed to be reflecting on his proposal. For a moment, her vigilance was slightly relaxed, and she became slightly curious about his words. "You want to help me? Why?"

Yang Yi slowly put down his hand, and the energy ball that was originally flickering in his palm quietly dissipated. He stared into her eyes, revealing his determination and faith. "Because I know that you are a person with potential and should not be trapped here. Your power should be used by you, not by others for experimentation."

Her eyes were attracted by his words, and she unconsciously turned from vigilance to contemplation. After a moment's silence, she asked in a low voice: "How do you know my ability?"

"I have seen many people like you, all of whom have superpowers but are unable to realize them. How can I just sit back and do nothing?" Yang Yi's voice was as gentle as water, full of concern.

"You make it sound simple," Wanda protested, though she was still shaken. "If that's the case, why didn't anyone else come to help me?"

"Because they don't understand your power," Yang Yi shook his head slightly, his eyes flashing with understanding and sympathy, "They only see the surface and cannot see the deeper truth. They regard you as a test material. But I believe that your ability contains real power."

"How do you know why?" Wanda frowned slightly, doubts gradually rising in her heart.

"Strength does not only come from the display of ability," Yang Yi said in a deep voice, his eyes deep, "it also depends on what your heart desires. Only by truly accepting your own abilities can you look at the outside world from a new perspective."

Wanda was silent. Yang Yi's words pierced the softest part of her heart like a needle. For many years, she had been isolated, studied, and even used as a test subject. For mutants, this experience was undoubtedly as heavy as a mountain, but at this moment, she heard a different voice.

"Do you... really want to help me?" she asked softly, with a hint of uneasiness and desire in her eyes.

"Of course," Yang Yi nodded firmly, "I will do my best to help you get out of this place and let you discover your true self."

Wanda stared at him, a long-lost hope rising from the depths of her heart. "If I am willing to trust you, what should I do next?"

"First, we need to find a chance to escape from here." Yang Yi frowned slightly and looked around. "What's your plan?"

"I can sense the energy around me, but this environment limits my ability." Wanda lowered her head, her expression gloomy, like a small boat submerged by despair.

"We can try to merge our powers," Yang Yi suddenly suggested, his eyes flashing with anticipation, "Combining your energy with my will, perhaps we can break the shackles of this place."

"Then...how do you know this method will work?" Wanda looked at her with doubt.

"I can't guarantee success, but how can you know the result if you don't try?" Yang Yi smiled slightly, like a ray of warm sunshine shining into her heart.

Wanda's heart was moved, and she slowly straightened her body. The red energy on her arms flickered slightly, as if sensing the changes in her heart. "Okay, I'm willing to try."

"Excellent, it's a start." Yang Yi took a step forward, showing a firm and confident aura, as if this force could inspire Wanda's determination, "Focus and sense the energy around you."

She closed her eyes and thought quietly, trying to calm her turbulent emotions, and slowly turned her attention to her surroundings. The red energy slowly gathered in her hands and began to flow.

"Very good, maintain this state," Yang Yi guided in a gentle voice, "Now, merge your power with my will."

Wanda slowly opened her eyes, and a determined thought surged in her heart. The red light blended with Yang Yi's will, as if forming a new source of power. Her sense of oppression gradually dissipated, replaced by a desire: "I want to escape!"

"Yes, you can do it!" Yang Yi responded to her. Wanda felt his full trust and support, and her inner strength was gradually increasing.

"Keep going, don't weaken!" Yang Yi encouraged her from the side. Her voice was like a spring breeze, fueling her inner courage.

"I can feel it!" Wanda responded excitedly, a smile gradually appearing on her face. It was a long-lost sense of freedom.
