The End of the World: Chaos

"Gentlemen, have you heard that strange sound?" Li Qiang turned around and asked Wang Lei who was behind him.

"I did hear it. It seemed like something was tearing apart." Wang Lei clenched the spear in his hand and looked through the darkness, trying to discern the situation ahead.

"I just hope this is nothing we worry about," Zhang Wei interjected, sounding somewhat optimistic, but his words did little to ease the tension.

The guards looked at each other for a moment, and all of them showed uneasiness in their eyes. Although this place was their base camp, there were always unexpected events and dangers everywhere.

"We cannot stop and move forward. We should quickly find out what's going on." Li Qiang said in a deep voice. He took a deep breath and led everyone to quicken their pace and head towards the source of the sound.

At this moment, the strange sound rang out again, like tearing something hard, low and harsh, as if being in a nightmare without sunlight.

"Damn! What is this?" Wang Lei's voice trembled, and his intuition told him that this was no ordinary crisis.

"The sound comes from behind that door. Be careful." Li Qiang motioned for everyone to move closer, his alertness reaching its peak.

"Do you really want to break in? If there's danger inside..." Zhang Wei's tone was filled with uneasiness.

"Are we just going to stay here and wait to die?" Li Qiang responded coldly. He knew that it was their duty to find out the truth of the matter.

Everyone looked at each other again, and after hesitating for a moment, they finally chose to follow Li Qiang and move forward. They gathered in front of the door, and the air was filled with a thick atmosphere of tension.

"Gentlemen, prepare to open this door." Li Qiang ordered in a low voice. Although his tone was deep, it revealed his determination.

Wang Lei was nervous, but he still mustered up his courage, walked forward slowly, and held the door handle. The door didn't seem to be locked, and he pushed it open easily, and then a low creaking sound came out, like a sharp blade cutting through the quiet air.

"It's dark inside..." Zhang Wei muttered in a low voice, feeling uneasy.

"Come on, follow me closely!" Li Qiang stepped into the darkness without hesitation, and the others followed closely behind.

As soon as you enter the door, there is a suffocating smell in the air. The guards raise their guns carefully and look around vigilantly, with a growing sense of tension in their chests.

"Listen, that sound is coming again!" Zhang Wei exclaimed. The tearing sound in his ears became clearer and clearer, making him uneasy.

Li Qiang suddenly raised the muzzle of his gun and scanned the surroundings, trying to find the source of the sound: "Everyone, be careful and stay alert."

Instantly, a blurry figure flashed in the corner, and a figure seemed to jump out of the shadows. Li Qiang shouted reflexively: "Who is here?"

The figure said nothing but nodded slightly, as if sizing them up. Li Qiang's scalp tingled, and he pointed at her warily.

"Why are you here? Answer me now!"

"Pfft..." The figure laughed softly, not caring about Li Qiang's vigilance at all. "You guards are really interesting. Why do you always seek answers in the dark?"

"Shut up! Answer me!" Li Qiang frowned and tightened the gun in his hand involuntarily, keenly aware of the potential danger around him.

"I am not your enemy." The figure slowly approached, and as she moved, she finally revealed her identity. "My name is Alyssa, and I am not here to harass you."

"Alyssa?" Wang Lei frowned slightly, "Why are you here?"

"Because I'm looking for what you lost." Alyssa's voice was soft, like a ray of light in the darkness.

"Lost things?" Li Qiang's heart tightened, as if he vaguely understood something, "The daughter you mentioned, is it that girl?"

"That's right, she is here, and you can choose to help her." Alyssa's eyes flashed with a strange light as she stared at them, as if revealing some urgency.

"We won't trust you easily!" Wang Lei was still alert. "This place is full of dangers. We don't want to succumb to someone of unknown identity!"

"I admit that I shouldn't have worried you, but I had no choice." Alyssa frowned slightly, her expression solemn, "I just want to save her, not threaten her."

"Save her? What evidence do you have?" Li Qiang's voice was still cold, but the uneasiness in his heart had quietly climbed up like a vine.

Alyssa's expression changed slightly, and then she took out a photo from her arms. Although the photo was blurry, the image of a young girl could be seen in it.

"This person is her." Alyssa handed the photo to Li Qiang, "She has no ill intentions and is not your enemy."

The guards looked at each other in bewilderment. Li Qiang's heart tightened as he stared intently at the photo. The handsome face made him feel vaguely familiar.

"How can we trust you?" Wang Lei still had doubts in his heart, "Everything you did might even be a conspiracy!"

"I don't have time to prove anything." Alyssa sighed heavily, her tone hurried, "I just hope you won't hesitate any longer. The longer you stay, the greater the danger."

At this moment, there was another loud noise from behind the door. All the guards felt nervous and filled with panic.

“Hurry, we don’t have much time!” Alyssa’s expression became more and more nervous, “Follow me!”

Li Qiang looked at Alyssa and saw a firmness in her eyes. He could feel her urgency.

"Let's go!" Li Qiang shouted decisively. As a guard, he had to make a decision. "Follow her!"
