Chapter 27 Train Mystery (6) - Spontaneous Combustion

Officer Sato still couldn't find Officer Ishida, so Officer Megure kept Officer Takagi and escorted her. He took the woman away with his men and notified the police in Nagoya to look for the person's transaction partner.

After all the tasks were arranged, Officer Megure left with peace of mind. Before leaving, he reminded: "Officer Sato, please take care of Officer Takagi."

Officer Takagi touched his neck and smiled at Officer Sato.

Officer Sato silently pulled him to car No. 6 and asked him to watch Kato first. She herself went to car No. 4 first.

……

In carriage number four, Maori Kogoro listened to Officer Sato's thanks. He rubbed his sleepy head awkwardly, and it took him a while to react before he laughed triumphantly: "Ha...hahaha! That's right...it was me, I found it, hahaha..."

Conan stood aside, laughing helplessly.

After Officer Sato left, Maori Kogoro lowered his body, tapped Conan on the head with his hand, and said, "Next time if there is such a big thing, you must tell me first!"

"Yeah!" Conan covered his head which didn't hurt at all, and nodded repeatedly in gratitude.

……

When the train slowly stopped, in carriage number six, Kato Saeko smiled, and Kuwahara Yumi beside her was completely relieved. She looked at Kato and thanked him.

The two were silent for a while, and then they saw Officer Sato drag Officer Takagi in. Officer Sato nodded to Kato and said, "Let Officer Takagi watch you. I'll be here in a minute."

Then she left.

"Kuwahara Yumi" smiled awkwardly with Officer Takagi, then lowered their heads and left, returning to carriage No. 5.

Kato Saeko was handcuffed and remained silent.

……

Kogoro Mori's family was late for their wedding, but fortunately there were no casualties on the Shinkansen and the bomb was safely dismantled.

The train started again. Conan and the children had experienced a big event and they all became quiet. Conan squinted his eyes and began to doze off.

When Mao Lilan went out to find Conan just now, she saw the arrested woman. She remembered that she was the person sitting with the two men in black.

She looked at this with a hazy feeling. She felt like something was very close to her, about to burst.

Dad has been sleeping here and has hardly ever left his seat, so everything Officer Sato said was done by this child.

Conan, why does this child know about the bomb?

Why was he so sure that the bomb was with that woman?

Why did he always want to follow those two men in black? Just like... just like Shinichi.

Mao Lilan carefully recalled what happened today:

The dad asked the boy why his parents didn't call.

Sister Li An’s answer was that Aunt Yukiko said they couldn’t use electronic devices.

She and Sister Li An went to the dining car, and when they came back they found Conan sticking chewing gum under the seat of the man in black.

Chewing gum... Ayumi put the chewing gum into the ashtray. She also praised their children.

After a while, Conan suddenly shouted "Ashes!", and then changed it to "Ashes eight sixty-four".

During the time they spent together, she discovered that he was a very smart child and it was impossible for him to memorize the multiplication table incorrectly.

Conan saw the two men in black leaving and tried to chase after them, but was caught by her.

Then he ran away and she didn't find him, and when she came back, the train had stopped.

So… that ball of gum might have some purpose.

Mao Lilan stood up, walked to the seat of the man in black, and took out the chewing gum wrapped in toilet paper from the ashtray. It felt a little dirty.

She wrapped it with another layer of toilet paper and squeezed it, and found a small hard object inside. She opened it and saw that it was a small black part. She thought about it, took out the remaining candy wrapper that Li An gave her, wrapped the small black part inside, and put it in her pocket. Then, she put the gum back into the ashtray.

She sat back in her seat and cleared her mind.

After getting off the car, Uncle Maori took his daughter and a group of children to the wedding scene. Although it was late, the newlyweds were not dissatisfied with it. They attended the subsequent banquet and had a pleasant day.

……

"We've arrived at Kyoto Station! We've arrived at Kyoto Station! Passengers who want to get off..."

"Let's go, get out of the car." Officer Sato said to Kato.

Kato Saeko nodded and got out of the car with the two police officers.

Although Officer Sato's attitude towards her softened a lot, she still refused to say a word during the second half of the train.

They walked out of the station, and a police officer was standing there. He came over and led them to the police car. When he saw this face, Officer Sato was very surprised.

"Officer Ishida?"

Officer Ishida received a mission to pick someone up. When he saw Officer Sato showing him a surprised expression, he asked in confusion as he walked over: "It's me, I'm Ishida, what's wrong with Officer Sato?"

Officer Sato stared at him, sensing something was wrong.

While she was on her way, she tried calling Officer Ishida again, but still no one answered.

The person standing outside Kyoto Station now is Officer Ishida, so who was that person on the train before?

"Officer Ishida, you weren't on the train?"

"Officer Sato, you are joking. I have been waiting here the whole time. I have never boarded the train, have I?"

Officer Sato looked at Ishida with a puzzled look on his face, and his anxiety gradually grew.

Kato Saeko suddenly cried out in pain and covered her abdomen in pain. Then, a smell of smoke came.

Officer Sato, Officer Takagi, and Officer Ishida turned their heads, their eyes widened in disbelief.

"Kato!"

"How is this going……"

"Go find water!"

Two minutes later, the wind started to blow, and the traces of her existence were blown away by the wind.

Only a pair of handcuffs were left there, with black marks from the fire.

Kato died, ending his life in a particularly brilliant and terrifying flame.

The flames started from within her body and quickly spread throughout her body, burning her completely to ashes.

Officer Sato looked at the crowd gradually gathering around her, she raised her hand and called the police station.

……

"Kuwahara Yumi" got off the train at Kyoto Station and was walking out with the crowd when she heard a commotion not far away.

She vaguely heard someone shouting for help or something like that, and the girl said she could come and see the show, so she saw this scene.

Kato Saeko covered her abdomen as flames started to burn from her abdomen and back, quickly spreading throughout her body. She turned into ashes before she could even say a word.

Is she okay? "Sangyuan Yumi" became worried.

More and more people are watching.

"Kuwabara Yumi" was about to leave for the address she left behind, when suddenly someone raised his hand and waved it in front of her face, and a slight force tore off a layer of mask on her face.

A strange voice came from my ear: "Saeko? What's wrong with you? Did I scare you?"

"Kuwahara Yumi" trembled all over, then covered her face in fear.

She saw through her fingers that a strange girl was looking at her worriedly.

She realized belatedly that she had called "Saeko" instead of "Saeko".

"Come back to your senses! I've been looking for you for a long time! Let's go, I'll take you to Kyoto for a good stroll!" the girl said happily, then she looked up and pointed to the sky, "Ah! Look, there was a pigeon just over there! Its eyes are so beautiful!"

"Ah...it flew away!"

"Kuwahara Yumi" breathed a sigh of relief, put down her hand hesitantly, and nodded: "What a pity... Let's go then."
