There was a barely perceptible tremor in his voice and a forced smile.

Sang Yue looked at Chen Shu's tear-stained face, feeling mixed emotions that eventually turned into a heavy sigh.

He nodded, indicating that he was willing to send Chen Shu back.

After getting Sang Yue's consent, Chen Shuo threw back the quilt and got out of bed, silently picked up his cell phone and the bag on the ground, and walked to Sang Yue.

"Let's go. After this is over, I will do my best to repay you." There was a hint of determination and gratitude in her words.

At this moment, Sang Yue suddenly stretched out his arms and hugged Chen Shu tightly. His warm chest gave her a sense of comfort and strength.

Chen Shu was stunned for a moment, then he stretched out his arms and gently wrapped them around Sang Yue's waist, but soon let go. "Don't let me worry, contact me if you have any problems, okay?" Sang Yue whispered.

"...Okay, Sang Yue, thank you." Chen Shu responded softly, reached out to wipe the tears from his face, took a step back slightly, and kept a proper distance from Sang Yue.

The two people's eyes met in the air for a moment, as if there were thousands of words unspoken.

Although it normally takes at least an hour to get from the Sang family to Fu Chaoge's villa, Chen Shuo felt as if it was just a blink of an eye, and the car had stopped steadily in front of the Fu family villa.

She sat in the car, staring through the window at the luxurious villa, her fingers biting her lips unconsciously.

"Thank you for sending me back." Chen Shu finally spoke, with a barely perceptible tremor in his voice.

She turned to look at Sang Yue who was sitting in the driver's seat, her eyes full of gratitude, then she gently pushed open the door and got out.

Sang Yue looked at Chen Shu silently, a complex emotion flashed in his eyes, and then he got out of the car.

"Mr. Chen, if you have any problem, remember to contact me." He whispered, his tone full of concern.

"Okay, thank you for your help today." Chen Shuo forced a smile in response to Sang Yue's concern.

"It was the same yesterday. You don't have to be so polite." There was an imperceptible tenderness in Sang Yue's words, as if he wanted to narrow the distance between the two of them.

However, at this moment, a cold voice suddenly broke the silence, causing Chen Shu's body to freeze instantly, and he didn't even have the courage to turn his head.

"What's up? You two seemed to be having a great time last night. Did my phone call ruin your fun?"

There was obvious anger in Fu Chaoge's voice, as if even the air around him had frozen.

Chen Shu felt a chill coming from behind, and then a big hand was placed on her shoulder and pulled her over.

She endured the pain and tried to stay calm, but a layer of fine beads of sweat had already seeped out of her forehead.

"Fu Chaoge, what nonsense are you talking about?" Seeing this, Sang Yue immediately stepped forward and glared at Fu Chaoge angrily, with dissatisfaction written all over his handsome face.

Chen Shu clenched her fists tightly, her nails almost digging into her palms. She tried hard to control her emotions and not let her tears fall.

She looked up at Sang Yue, forced a smile, and said softly, "I'm very happy, Sang Yue, you go back first."

However, Fu Chaoge did not seem to intend to let her go. He increased the strength of his hands, causing Chen Shu to feel unbearable pain.

His eyes were filled with anger, as if they were going to devour her.

"I won't see Sang Juxing off. After all, I have something to discuss with my wife." Fu Chaoge's voice was cold and resolute, which instantly made Chen Shuo's heart sink to the bottom.

"Chen Shuo!" Sang Yue shouted anxiously and wanted to chase after him, but was stopped outside the door by the villa's housekeeper.

He could only watch the two men disappear from his sight, his fists clenched tightly, his heart filled with worry and anxiety.

Sang Yue knew that behind Chen Shu's smile lay deep sorrow and secrets.

He recalled the pain on her face when she received Fu Chaoge's call last night, and became more certain that she was under tremendous pressure at the moment.

He secretly vowed to do his best to help her and protect her.

Chen Shuo did not notice Sang Yue's inner worry at the moment. She was held tightly in Fu Chaoge's arms and almost dragged into the bedroom.

The moment the door slammed shut, they were the only two left in the bedroom.

Chen Shuo turned his back to Fu Chaoge and took two difficult steps. His eyes were already filled with tears, crystal clear, as if they would fall at any time.

"What's with the photos on the Internet? Why didn't you go home last night?" Fu Chaoge's voice suddenly exploded in her ears. He pulled Chen Shu closer to him, his deep eyes staring at her, as if he wanted to see through her thoughts.

Chen Shuo kept his head down and refused to look him in the eye, which angered Fu Chaoge even more.

He grabbed her chin roughly and forced her to look up and meet his eyes.

When he saw the tears in Chen Shu's eyes, his movements paused involuntarily, but were immediately overwhelmed by anger.

"Are you feeling wronged? Then tell me quickly. Where did you go last night? Why didn't you answer the phone? Why didn't you come home all night?" Fu Chaoge's voice was low and cold, and every word seemed to be squeezed out from between his teeth.

He recalled his anxiety and uneasiness throughout the night, and the trace of pity that had just arisen in his heart was instantly swallowed up by raging rage.

He wanted to teach the woman in front of him a lesson, but reason told him that he still needed to hear her explanation.

However, the answer stated made him completely lose his patience.

"I came back with Sang Yue this morning. Doesn't that explain everything? What's the point of you asking these questions again?" Her voice was soft but it was firm and unquestionable.

Fu Chaoge's anger was ignited again, and he increased the strength of his hands, almost crushing Chen Shu's jaw.

"Chen Shuo, I'll give you one last chance!" His voice was low and dangerous.

Chen Shu felt a sharp pain in her jaw, but she didn't even frown. She just gave a cold and mocking smile.

"I'm telling the truth, why do you have to deceive yourself?"

Before he finished his words, a crisp "pop" sound echoed in the bedroom.

Chen Shu fell to the ground, covering her rapidly swollen face with her hands, shock and pain intertwined in her eyes.

Her long hair fell down in disarray, obscuring her expression and leaving only a dead silence.

Fu Chaoge stared at his hands in a daze. He took a step forward but froze in place, as if restrained by an invisible force.

"Shuo Chen, tell me the truth, what happened last night?" His voice was low and urgent.

Chen Shuo fell to the ground with his eyes closed. After a long time, the buzzing in his ears gradually subsided.

She forced herself to open her eyes, her eyes were red, but she tried hard not to let the tears fall, and struggled to stand up.
