Rebirth of the Return of Chu

Chapter 85: The Assassin of Changle Temple

The letter says

"My daughter Chu'er, if you see this letter, I would have left you to protect your mother, so don't be too sad.

Your father entrusts you to your uncle. You must listen to him and grow up well by his side. I believe he has enough ability to protect you.

If there is something strange about your father's death, don't check the cause of his death. The things behind it are not something you can change. Remember your father's words."

Mu Chu held the letter and fell into deep thought. What ability did the Wang family have to be able to control the imperial power and even make his father afraid of it?

Just as he was thinking about it, the carriage suddenly stopped. A bloody sword pierced into the carriage and stabbed Mu Chu in the back of the head, almost killing him.

The accompanying shadow guards immediately got into a fight with the people outside, and all that could be heard in the carriage was the sound of swords clashing. Xiao Tao and Ginkgo worked in tacit cooperation, one in front and one behind, to block Mu Chu.

Mu Chu whispered: "You two, lie down, this will hurt you."

The two of them still didn't move, firmly protecting Mu Chu. Mu Chu had no choice but to force them to lie down together, and then took out two bottles of medicine: "Take this, each of you take one pill."

The two took it, opened it without any further ado, poured out the pills and swallowed them.

The three of them were waiting quietly in the carriage. Although Mu Chu had been practicing his master's boxing skills over the years, it was only for the purpose of strengthening his body. He had never participated in an actual combat and did not dare to go out rashly.

Although the hidden guards were all highly skilled in martial arts, they were no match for the enemy's large numbers. Soon a man in black came to the front of the carriage and lifted the curtain. Mu Chu picked up a handful of medicine powder and sprinkled it out. The man fell to the ground as he swung his sword.

Ginkgo and Xiaotao looked at Mu Chu in surprise, especially Ginkgo who had never seen Mu Chu use poison, and was instantly filled with admiration.

There were more and more people in black, and the hidden guards were gradually outnumbered. Mu Chu's medicine powder was almost used up. Mu Chu touched his bracelet, slowly unscrewed it, and took out the poison needle.

"You two stay away from me. This needle is poisonous. Hide behind me later and don't touch this needle by accident."

As he was speaking, a man in black rushed over and stabbed him with a sword. Mu Chu instinctively dodged and stretched out his hand to stab the man's arm. The man's arm felt pain and he tried hard to change direction and stab Mu Chu.

Xiao Tao, who was beside him, pounced on Mu Chu and the sword pierced Xiao Tao's arm. Blood splattered and the man in black also fell beside the carriage.

Mu Chu shouted anxiously: "Xiao Tao, Xiao Tao, how are you? Where are you hurt? Let me see."

Xiaotao struggled to get up: "Hiss~ Miss, I'm fine, he just hurt my arm."

Mu Chu then checked Xiao Tao's arm: "It's just a flesh wound, it should be fine, I'll bandage it for you when we get back."

Ginkgo next to him picked up the assassin's sword and stabbed it directly into the assassin's chest: "I'll teach you not to hurt the lady."

After drawing the sword, Ginkgo's hands were still shaking.

Another wave of assassins attacked. Mu Chu picked up the poison needle and got ready for defense. However, he saw the assassins fall down one by one before they even reached the carriage.

Looking closely, all of those people had arrows stuck in their chests.

Mu Chu looked to the back of the carriage and saw the eldest prince Li Wenyu riding a horse, and Xiao Se, with several guards, rushing towards this side.

When they arrived at the carriage, the guards joined the battle and the assassins kept retreating. Li Wenyu stopped his horse in front of the carriage and jumped off.

"Miss Qin, are you okay?" There was a hint of worry in his tone.

Mu Chu was still frightened: "I'm fine."

Li Wenyu finally breathed a sigh of relief and shouted to Xiao Se: "Leave him alive."

Xiao Se: "Yes, Your Highness."

Li Wenyu turned around and looked at the three embarrassed masters and servants: "I'll send you back first, and leave this to Xiao Se."

Mu Chu nodded: "Okay, Xiaotao is injured, I want to go back and treat her."
