"Mr. Iwai, this work was indeed written by me."

Yuan Ye spoke in a neither humble nor arrogant manner, his eyes full of confidence as he spoke. Of course, this confidence came from the top calligraphy level given to him by the system.

Su Xiwu knew that Iwai Yuichi didn't quite believe it, which was normal, but he believed that Iwai Yuichi would surprise Yuan Ye in a short while.

He smiled and said:

"Shi Kai, just paint on the spot and let Mr. Iwai see your level. Otherwise, Mr. Iwai will think I'm lying to him."

Iwai Yuichi smiled slightly and asked:

“Which font are you best at?”

"I know a little bit about regular script, running script, cursive script, official script, and seal script."

Yuan Ye said modestly.

"Okay, how about you write a cursive script on the spot?"

Iwai Yuichi is best at cursive script. He knows that cursive script shows one's skills the most but is also the most difficult. Being good at regular script does not necessarily mean one is good at cursive script. So he wants to test Yuan Ye to see how good his cursive script skills are.

"Okay, I'll show you how to do it, then."

Yuan Ye knew what Iwai Yuichi meant and wanted to test him with cursive script. Since he could write in any font, cursive script was no problem at all.

"Then come to my study."

After saying this, Yuichi Iwai walked towards a door in the large office. The door was closed. Iwai Yuichi opened the door and saw his study inside.

Yuan Ye and Su Xiwu followed Iwai Yuichi into the study.

The study is very large and decorated in an antique style. The antique shelves are filled with various antiques in his collection, and there are many calligraphy and paintings hanging on the walls. There is a large desk in the middle, and the four treasures of the study are placed next to the desk. One of them is a pen holder made of sandalwood and is hung with various brushes.

There was a large safe in the corner of the study that caught Yuan Ye's attention. The safe was embedded in the wall.

Yuan Ye thought that besides Iwai Yuichi's treasure, there must be a lot of secrets hidden here.

The three men walked to the desk, on which there was a work of cursive calligraphy, a poem by Xin Qiji, "Poetry of Breaking the Formation, a Poem Written for Chen Tongfu to Send to Him".

When drunk, he turned on the lamp to watch the sword, and dreamed back to blow the horns. Eight hundred li points burned under his command, fifty strings turned over, and the battlefield fell into the autumn.

Ma Fei's Lu Feikui, his bow like a thunderbolt. However, the monarch did things in the world and won his last name. Poor white happened!

Judging from the signature at the back, it was written by Iwai Yuichi. Yuan Ye thought that it was probably Iwai Yuichi lamenting that his career was not yet completed, and that he was getting old and his hair had already turned white.

Isn't his so-called mission to invade the whole of China and establish a country ruled by Japanese?

Yuan Ye sneered in his heart. Xin Qiji is a national hero of our China. He devoted his life to resisting foreign invasions and recovering lost territory. It is really ironic that Iwai Yuichi wrote this poem to express his mood.

However, from the perspective of calligraphy alone, it is indeed a good work. It can be seen that Iwai Yuichi has a deep study of Huaisu's cursive script and has quite a bit of its charm. However, he also has the same problem as Su Xiwu. His planning and layout are a bit deliberate, and he has not yet reached the state of writing according to his heart, doing whatever he wants, and being able to control his writing freely.

Su Xiwu took a look and praised:

"Brother Iwai, I didn't expect that after not seeing you for so long, your calligraphy skills have improved. This is an excellent piece of work."

"No, no, it's just a spur of the moment graffiti. I don't think it's worthy of your approval."

Iwai Yuichi said this modestly, but he was very happy in his heart. This work took him a lot of time and thought, and he thought it was his best work in the past few years.

Yuan Ye thought that Su Xiwu's compliments seemed to be quite appreciated by Iwai Yuichi, so he should also express his appreciation. Of course, he couldn't tell the truth, so he could only flatter him a little, otherwise it would be unwise to do so.

Yuan Ye also praised sincerely:

"Mr. Iwai's work has the charm of Huaisu, the master of cursive script, but it is also unique and not confined to the ancients. It has his own ingenuity. It is really a masterpiece."

Yuan Ye's flattery made Iwai Yuichi happy again. It seemed that everyone agreed that it was good and it was indeed what everyone wanted.

It was not easy for this young man to realize that he learned from Huaisu. He was even more curious about the young man's true level.

He smiled and said:

"Mr. Shi Kai, I am overly flattered. Now let me admire your masterpiece!"

"Okay, then I'll show off my skills in front of you."

Yuan Ye took a long-haired goat-hair brush from the pen holder, dipped it in ink, calmed his mind, thought for a moment, and then began to write.

With one stroke, it looks like a horse running free from its reins, leaping into the sky and leaving in a cloud of dust.

It is also like a flying dragon, moving and tumbling across the sky, coming from nothingness and returning to nothingness.

Yuan Ye seemed to be in a state of near madness, and in an instant, a piece of calligraphy appeared on the paper.

Yuan Ye then took a deep breath and returned to his previous calm state. He put the brush on the brush holder and said modestly:

"I'm sorry for my poor performance. Please correct me if I find any shortcomings."

Iwai Yuichi and Su Xiwu had been stunned by Yuan Ye's momentum just now. They finally came to their senses and looked at Yuan Ye's work, which was a poem by Su Shi, "Nian Nujiao: Nostalgia for the Past at Chibi":

The great river flows eastward, the waves wash away all the heroes of the ages. To the west of the old fortress, people say: The Red Cliff of Zhou Lang in the Three Kingdoms. The rocks collapse, the waves break the shore, and the snow piles up. The mountains and rivers are picturesque, and there are so many heroes at that time.

I recall the days of Gongjin, when Xiaoqiao was just married, he was handsome and heroic. With a feather fan and a silk scarf, he wiped out the invaders in a casual conversation. I am lost in my thoughts of my homeland, and the sentimental people should laugh at me for my early gray hair. The world is like a dream, I will pour a cup of wine to the moon on the river.

The reason why Yuan Ye wrote this poem is that it also expresses the feeling of being talented but not appreciated, having unfulfilled achievements and being a failure. It echoes the poem "Poem of Breaking the Formation, a Poem Written for Chen Tongfu" by Xin Qiji written by Iwai Yuichi, and will definitely resonate with Iwai Yuichi.

These more than one hundred characters break the conventional layout methods of being flat, square, and having vertical rows and vertical columns. Between characters and lines, there are staggered up and down, left and right, and large and small characters are arranged in a risky manner. The arrangement of changes in density in the layout is just right.

Moreover, the writing is continuous, with the brush moving up and down, left and right, up and down, and swinging with fast and fast, light and heavy, like a rhythmic musical melody, very dynamic.

The whole work is within the rules and regulations, with strange changes and dynamic spirit, which is truly the ultimate expression of the art of cursive calligraphy.

Iwai Yuichi and Su Xiwu were simply stunned, and were so absorbed in the work that they didn't speak for a long time. They stared at it intently, not moving away for even a second.

Finally, Iwai Yuichi raised his head and said excitedly:

“This is the best calligraphy work I have ever seen in my life, bar none.

You are so young, yet you have achieved such accomplishments, reaching the pinnacle of perfection. You are truly a calligraphy genius!"
