The author of this comment was Han Dang. Yuan Ye remembered that he had once reported on the killing of sixteen Japanese agents by Han Dang and praised him highly. He was a very patriotic journalist.

This review was extremely sarcastic and critical of Wang Jing's surrender and treason, and at the end there was a poem "A Poem to Wang Jing":

At that time, "the people sang songs in Yanshi with generosity",

Zeng envies “being a prisoner of Chu with ease”.

I regret that I have not "drawn the knife into a piece of steel",

In the end, I feel ashamed for not living up to my youth.

Obviously, this poem quoted the suicide poem written by Wang Jingwei in the Qing prison:

Singing generously in Yanshi,

Be a prisoner of Chu calmly.

Draw the knife into a sharp blade,

Live up to your youth!

Han Dang only added eight words to the poem, which exposed Wang Jingwei's ugly side. The comparison between the before and after is truly amazing.

Yuan Ye couldn't help but sigh, thinking that Wang Jingwei was once a staunch revolutionary.

In 1910, Wang Jingwei was arrested and imprisoned for plotting to assassinate the regent of the Qing Dynasty and was sentenced to life imprisonment. While in prison, Wang Jingwei wrote the above-mentioned popular suicide poem in order to express his determination to die and sacrifice his life for the country.

The patriotic enthusiasm expressed in this poem infected many revolutionary patriots and it became widely circulated for a time. At that time, Wang Jingwei was a young talent with his country in his heart and a heroic spirit.

Unexpectedly, just over 20 years later, Wang Jingwei stood in opposition to the country and the people.

Now, in order to escape the pursuit of the Military Control Commission, Wang Jing came to Shanghai under the protection of the Japanese. He has openly put on a layer of disguise, and is not afraid to sell out his country for fame and fortune, begging for mercy from the Japanese, and covering up his treasonous activities in the name of "peace".

Wang Jingwei, who was reborn from the brink of death, was still full of vigor and vitality, but he no longer had any regard for his country.

The suicide poem he wrote has become a joke, or perhaps he himself has forgotten it completely!

While Yuan Ye was sighing, he also felt a little worried about Han Dang's personal safety. He wondered what Wang Jingwei would think when he saw this comment scolding him. Would he be angry and embarrassed?

Yuan Ye thought again and thought, it shouldn’t be the case. He is such a big shot, he should have some tolerance, right?

Even if he was angry, he wouldn't be so angry as to want to kill Han Dang.

After eating the wontons, Yuan Ye walked towards the Su Mansion and soon arrived outside the door.

The gate of the mansion was closed. Yuan Ye knocked on the door. After a while, the small door opened. It was Butler Li who opened the door again.

When Butler Li saw Yuan Ye, he was obviously much more enthusiastic than last night, and said with a smile on his face:

"Oh, it's Secretary Yuan. Please come in. The gentleman is waiting for you."

Yuan Ye followed Butler Li to the living room on the first floor of the mansion. Butler Li asked Yuan Ye to sit down for a while and went upstairs to tell Su Xiwu.

Su Xiwu was reading a newspaper in the study. He had the habit of reading the newspaper every morning, and he would ask his servants to buy newspapers. He would often not buy newspapers from one newspaper company, but from multiple newspaper companies.

So there is often a thick stack of newspapers, and Su Xiwu reads very quickly. Of course, he has to read slowly, as he usually picks out the important points.

He also saw the news about Wang Jingwei's coming to Shanghai published in the newspaper, which also proved that Yuan Ye's information was accurate.

Many newspapers published articles slamming Wang Jingwei, mainly those in the concessions. Most of these newspapers were anti-Japanese, such as the Sino-US Daily, the Great American Evening News, Wenhui Daily, Shenbao, and Xinwen Bao, all of which published many abusive articles.

Su Xiwu was not surprised. He knew the tendencies of these newspapers and he read them to understand the direction of public opinion.

However, the news that Wang Jingwei was coming to Shanghai was posted so quickly that Su Xiwu felt a sense of urgency and wanted to meet Wang Jingwei as soon as possible.

He was ready, with a suitcase filled with gold bars and US dollars quietly lying beside him.

Butler Li came upstairs to tell him that Yuan Ye had arrived, and he came down quickly, with Butler Li following behind him carrying a suitcase.

When Yuan Ye saw Su Xiwu coming down, he hurried to greet him. Su Xiwu smiled and said:

"Shi Kai, here I come.

It's almost time, there's no need to wait until nine o'clock, let's set off now."

Yuan Ye knew that the original schedule was to set out at nine o'clock, but it was not yet eight-thirty. Su Xiwu was in such a hurry to see Wang Jingwei that he must have read the morning newspaper.

I was still hesitant last night, but today I can’t wait.

Yuan Ye didn't think there was anything strange about it. He knew that his teacher and people like Fu Quan'an and Zhang Shicheng were essentially the same kind of people.

The relentless pursuit of power is like a moth to a flame, with one person after another rushing toward it and no end in sight.

Yuan Ye Ji A famous person once said that power is the best aphrodisiac, which is absolutely true.

After Su Xiwu finished speaking, he asked the butler to hand the suitcase to Yuan Ye. Yuan Ye took it and held it in his hand. It felt heavy.

I thought that Su Xiwu might have invested a lot of money this time.

However, he hopes that Su Xiwu can become the mayor again. Someone has to be the mayor, which is better than letting others do it.

As long as Fu Quan'an dies, there is a great possibility that Su Xiwu will become the mayor.
