Rebirth: The Fourth Lady Wants to Lie Down

Chapter 245: Quiet Zen Retreat

As the echo of the last chanting gradually dissipated in the Great Hall, Yi Ya slowly opened her eyes. The tranquility and peace in her heart were like the warm spring sun, warm and lasting.

She walked out of the hall with light steps. The sunlight shone through the sparse clouds, dappled on her body, adding a touch of otherworldly temperament to her.

After passing through several winding corridors, Yi Ya finally found a young master watering flowers and plants in a quiet courtyard. She stepped forward and said softly, "Master, I would like to stay in your temple for a while. Is it convenient?"

Upon hearing this, the young master put down the kettle in his hand, turned around, and said with a gentle smile: "Amitabha, it is very good that the donor has such a wish. We often have believers coming to our temple to practice. It just so happens that there is a vacant room in the backyard, which can be arranged for the donor to live in."

After hearing this, Yi Ya felt a surge of warmth in her heart and quickly thanked him: "Thank you, Master. That's great. I have a maid named Bai Zhi by my side. Could you please arrange something for her as well?"

The young master smiled and nodded: "Don't worry, I will make proper arrangements. Please wait a moment, I will let Miss Baizhi go with me to clean up the wing room."

As he spoke, the young master walked out of the courtyard, ready to call Bai Zhi. Bai Zhi had already noticed the movement here, and when she saw the young master waving, she immediately walked to Yi Ya, her eyes full of worry: "Fu Jin, I..."

Yi Ya gently held Bai Zhi's hand and gently interrupted her: "Bai Zhi, follow the master and clean up the room so that we can practice in peace. Don't worry about me, I will go to the Guanyin Hall in the back. You can find me there after you have cleaned up."

Bai Zhi looked at Yi Ya's determined eyes, and her worries were slightly reduced, but she was still a little reluctant. Yi Ya saw this and whispered a few words of comfort again. Bai Zhi nodded and reluctantly followed the young master away.

Bai Zhi's footsteps gradually faded away. Yi Ya gently lifted her skirt and slowly walked up the stone steps paved with bluestone. The sunlight shone through the sparse clouds and sprinkled on the stone steps, and each step seemed to be coated with a thin layer of golden light. Her mood gradually calmed down with this peaceful scene, as if all the troubles were gone with the wind.

After passing through a bamboo forest, Yi Ya arrived at the Guanyin Temple in the backyard.

The door of the temple opened slightly, and a faint scent of sandalwood wafted into her nose, interweaving with the fresh air around her, making her feel relaxed and happy. She gently pushed open the door of the temple and stepped into this sacred place.

The light in the hall is soft, and in the center is a statue of the compassionate Guanyin Bodhisattva. The Bodhisattva has a peaceful face, a faint smile on the corner of her mouth, and her eyes reveal endless compassion and wisdom, as if she can see through all the sufferings in the world and give endless comfort and hope.

Yi Ya slowly walked to the Bodhisattva statue and knelt on the soft cushion. She gently stroked the cold ground with both hands, feeling the slight coolness coming from her fingertips. This coolness seemed to penetrate her body and reach the depths of her soul, bringing an indescribable tranquility and coolness.

Closing her eyes, Yi Ya took a deep breath and began to recite the scriptures silently. Every word and every sentence was like a spring flowing from her heart, washing away the dust and distracting thoughts in her heart.

As the scriptures echoed, she seemed to be in a vast universe, achieving a subtle harmony with the heaven and earth, the Bodhisattvas, and the world.

At this moment, all the fatigue and anxiety disappeared, replaced by an unprecedented ease and comfort. She felt the mercy and protection from the Bodhisattva, as if a beam of warm light was shining on her, leading her to the other side of her soul.

When the scripture was finished, Yi Ya slowly opened her eyes, with a light of gratitude and tranquility in them. She stood up, bowed deeply to the statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva, and silently said in her heart: "Thank you for the Bodhisattva's mercy and protection. I hope I can use this heart to save myself and others."

After the worship, Yiya's mind seemed to be washed by a spring, becoming unusually clear and peaceful. She slowly walked out of the main hall and began to stroll in the temple, taking each step very lightly, as if she was afraid of disturbing this rare tranquility.

The sun shines through the sparse clouds, sprinkling on the ancient bluestone road, adding a bit of warmth and vitality to this ancient temple. Yi Ya walks slowly along the path, and wherever she looks, there are traces of time and the sedimentation of history.

She gently stroked the mottled wall beside her. The rough texture from her fingertips made her sigh: "Every brick and tile carries so many stories from the past."

Her voice is soft and full of emotion, as if she is having a conversation across time and space with these silent buildings.

Continuing forward, Yiya came to a quiet little garden. Here, every blade of grass and tree seemed so vibrant and green. She stopped, closed her eyes, took a deep breath of fresh air, and felt the breath of nature echoing in her chest.

"In this troubled world, it is so rare to have such a pure land where people can find peace of mind." Yi Ya murmured to herself, her voice full of cherishment and gratitude for this tranquility.

She opened her eyes and looked into the distance, only to see mountains surrounded by clouds and mist, like an elegant ink painting. At this moment, she seemed to forget the disturbance in the backyard, the hustle and bustle of the world, and just wanted to immerse herself in this tranquility and beauty.

"Perhaps, this is what the Buddhists call 'the farther the mind is, the farther the place is'." Yi Ya pondered secretly in her heart, and a faint smile unconsciously appeared on the corner of her mouth.

She knew that she had found her spiritual home, and no matter how many storms there were in the future, they would not be able to shake her inner determination and peace.
