Chapter 13 Wave Missiles and Poison Attacks

Naoki and Korne's Lucario had fought no less than ten battles, and they knew each other well. Both sides had probably tried all the tactics they could think of, and later they simply agreed to use Lucario's best wave missile to decide the outcome.

"Lucario, wave missile!"

The energy balls condensed by the two waves condensed in the hands of the two Lucarios. Every time at this time, Naoki would inevitably think of the so-called wave hero, the humanoid Pokémon who could shoot wave missiles with his hands. If possible, who wouldn't want to have this kind of superpower?

When the two wave missiles collided, there was no violent explosion. Instead, they neutralized each other like acid and alkali. With a hissing sound, both of them eventually returned to nothingness.

"It's a tie again," said Kornie.

"Then the second one will decide the outcome! Come on, Ralph!" Naoki put Lucario back into the Poké Ball and took out a pink healing ball.

"Ah! Xiaozhi, you are so cunning!" Korni said coquettishly.

Naoki knew that Korne only had one arm left, so he sent out the psychic-type and fairy-type Larulas, which was simply an act of deliberately taking advantage of her.

"As the heir of the gym, you should have learned poison, evil, and rock-attribute skills in your arm strength, right?"

Naoki directly exposed Korne's disguise. Since the gym stipulates the attributes of the Pokémon used by the gym owner, in order to prevent being defeated too easily by the challenger using attribute restraint, most gym owners choose some Pokémon with dual attributes. For example, Miss Violet's Yo-Yo and Rainwing are used to jointly defend the fire attribute that restrains the insect attribute. Another method is to let the Pokémon learn skills that can restrain the attributes of its own weaknesses. For example, if it is weak to fighting and flying, it can learn rock-type skills to deal with it.

As far as Naoki knows, Pokémon like Armstrong can learn skills like Rockslide and Poison Attack. With Lalthale's body, it would probably collapse after taking two poison attacks. However, the strength of Psychic-type Pokémon in reality is much higher than that in the game. For example, Lalthale has learned teleportation, and it is almost impossible to hit it with close-range physical attacks. Unless a Fighting-type Pokémon has a huge level advantage, it can be said that there is almost no chance of winning when facing a Psychic-type Pokémon.

After all, it seems that Naoki got the upper hand.

"Go ahead, Armstrong!" Korni pouted and didn't comment. She would never admit that she had Armstrong trained in poison attack in order to deal with Naoki's Larulas.

"Wrist strength, bodybuilding!"

"Larulas, use meditation!"

"Wrist strength, rush forward, use poison attack!"

"Larulas, telekinesis!"

After adding a period of special attack, the telekinesis abruptly stopped the wrist force's steps, and the blue energy lifted the wrist force and threw it out.

"Larulas, pursue the victory, the voice of enchantment!"

"Wrist Strength, use Dig!" Wrist Strength drilled into the ground to avoid Larulas' attack.

"Larulas, shadow clone!"

Larus created a clone to dodge the digging attack, and used telekinesis on the brachiator that appeared.

"Wrist strength, hold on! Use Resurrection!"

A full-powered resurrection, even with four times the resistance, Larus was still severely damaged due to his pitiful physical defense and HP.

"Larulas, use telekinesis!"

Larus used his last bit of telekinesis to successfully knock out the wrist warrior, but he also used up his last bit of strength and fell down.

"It's actually a draw." Naoki took back Lalulas and said with some sigh. He didn't expect that in that situation, he could use wrist strength to hold on and quickly follow up with a resurrection attack. In fact, he had an attribute advantage but it was only a draw. He should be considered a loser.

"Let's go to the Pokémon Center first!" Kornie seemed very satisfied with the ending.

The two ran to the Pokémon Center and asked Miss Joy to help heal the Pokémon. Because the Ancient Wood Town was going to host the Grand Competition, the number of people at the Pokémon Center was four or five times more than usual. Many of them were coordinating trainers, but a larger number were trainers who came to join in the fun. Rather than playing on the field themselves, most people preferred to watch from below.

Some of them were more innocent, they probably thought there were too many people here, and wanted to see if there were any suitable opponents to have a Pokémon battle with them. In such a short period of time, Naoki and Korne had already met five people who wanted to have a battle with them. Maybe they thought the two kids were easy to bully, or maybe they just didn't like the two kids being in pairs, or maybe it was both. In short, they were all rejected by the two, and the reason was simple and direct: the Pokémon was being treated, so they couldn't fight.

However, even so, there was still a stubborn guy who insisted on waiting for the two Pokémon to finish their treatment before having a Pokémon battle.

Naoki came up to Kornie and asked quietly, "Do you know him?"

Kornie shook her head.

Naoki didn't know him either, but he had reason to suspect that this trainer of similar age who called himself Xiaoli might be a fan or secret admirer of Kornie. When he approached Kornie just now, this guy's eyes were clearly about to burst into flames.

"Naoki, Kornie, your Pokémon have been treated."

"Lalu!"

Larulas ran out of the Poké Ball on his own initiative and threw himself into Naoki's arms.

"Okay, it's normal to win and lose, and I won't blame you." Naoki rubbed Larulas' head.

"Lalulas, are you a little too clingy to Naoki?" Korni couldn't stand it any longer. Lalulas turned his head away, pretending not to hear.

"Okay, come and fight with me!" Xiaoli on the side couldn't wait any longer.

No? Who are you, buddy? Can't you read the atmosphere? Naoki was speechless. Seeing that he was also a novice trainer who had just received a badge, Naoki felt that he had to show him the dark side of Pokémon battles.

"Let's go to the battle area behind the Pokémon Center."

There were a lot of people behind the Pokémon Center, and the two took some time to find a vacant space and then talked about the rules of the battle.

The battle is a formal three-on-three battle, and Pokémon can be changed freely until all three Pokémon on one side lose their ability to fight or admit defeat, and Korne will be the referee.

Before the battle started, some trainers started to gather around to watch the fun.

"Game start!"

"Go ahead, Makuhita!"

"Come on, Tutu Dog!"
