Chapter 2 Pokémon Research Institute

Naoki's first partner was a Riolu, which was hatched from a Pokémon egg given by his grandfather. Naoki thought that this might be because he was leveling up Riolu before his rebirth. This might be fate. In addition to Riolu, Naoki has two other Pokémon. One was hatched from a Pokémon egg given to him by an old friend of his grandfather during the battle against the castle. It is also a dog-type Pokémon. In theory, it can learn the skills of all Pokémon. It is one of the most notorious Pokémon in the previous life Pokémon battle, Tutu.

The last one is the Ralph that Naoki caught near White Sand City when he was studying at the White Sand City Pokémon Trainer School. This Ralph is not with Naoki at the moment, but in the research institute of Naoki's father. Ralph has fairy-type abilities, and has been helping Naoki's father with his research on fairy-type Pokémon during this time.

Before his rebirth, Naoki once thought that the children in the Pokémon world had a very carefree childhood without homework. But in fact, according to the relevant regulations of the Pokémon League, children in this world also have compulsory education, starting from the age of four to nine, a total of six years. Children in this world must learn various basic subjects including mathematics and Chinese, as well as learn Pokémon knowledge unique to this world.

Only students who graduate from the Pokémon Trainer School can receive Pokémon at the age of ten and become a Pokémon Trainer, thus obtaining a Trainer Card similar to an ID card. Without a Trainer Card, even if you have Pokémon, you will not be recognized by the Pokémon League. Although the League will not take any action against such "illegal households", if you do not have a Trainer Card from the Pokémon League, the infrastructure open to trainers in the city cannot be used at will. Non-trainers who want to treat Pokémon in the Pokémon Center must pay, and Poké Balls and other products in the Pokémon Store will never be sold to people other than trainers.

Naoki didn't understand the deeper things. He was not cut out for politics, and there was nothing to complain about his family environment. He felt that he was a very lucky person. At least this start was much better than that of the protagonist in the Pokémon game.

After arriving in Miare City from Gumu Town, Naoki skillfully stopped a taxi and asked the driver to take him to Dr. Blatano's Pokémon Research Institute. Naoki was confident that he would get lost in Miare City if he walked. This is the largest city in the Kalos region. Even in the game, it is like a maze, not to mention in reality, so Naoki would rather spend more money to take a taxi.

The taxi drove through the city for a while before stopping on the side of the road. The driver took out a small plate for payment and handed it to Naoki, saying, "Two hundred Alliance coins."

After paying the money, Naoki jumped out of the car and walked into the Pokémon Research Institute. After greeting the receptionist at the door, Naoki took the elevator to the third floor.

"Huh? Naoki, why are you here?" The girl at the door noticed Naoki.

"Sister Gina." Naoki greeted the girl. The girl named Gina was one of Dr. Blatano's assistants, and Naoki and her were old acquaintances.

"Oh, I remember now, you are also old enough to receive your initial Pokémon." Gina patted her forehead and answered herself.

"But you came at the wrong time. The last three initial Pokémon were just sent to Chaoxiang Town two days ago, and the research institute currently doesn't have the Frog you've always wanted." Dexiou, who was partnering with Gina, came out carrying a box.

Behind Dexio was the young-looking Dr. Blatano. Dr. Blatano scratched his messy hair and said apologetically, "There are only these three Pokémon in the institute right now. They are Pokémon sent from other regions for research. Naoki, if you don't mind, you can choose one of these three as your starter Pokémon. If you want Frog, you may have to wait a little longer."

"What are these three Pokémon?" Naoki was a little stunned when he heard that there was no Frog, but he quickly thought of the plot in the original game. If he guessed correctly, the three Pokémon in the box should be the three Pokémon in the Kanto region, namely Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. The final evolutions of these three Pokémon have gained the ability to super evolve in the xy version. Among them, Charizard, a super popular Pokémon nicknamed Junichi Masuda's father by players, has two super evolved forms in x and y versions.

"These are Pokémon sent from the Kanto region. They are Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. They are very rare Pokémon in the Kalos region." Dr. Blatano introduced, and at the same time opened the box and released the three Pokémon from the Poké Balls.

Three Pokémon that were both strange and familiar appeared in front of Naoki. This was the first time Naoki saw these three Pokémon in this life, but in his previous life, he was quite familiar with these three Pokémon, especially Bulbasaur and Charmander. Naoki had formed a team with them and fought against them online.

When Naoki's eyes fell on the three Pokémon, numbers similar to game data appeared on the Pokémon. This is the so-called benefit for time travelers. Naoki has a panel similar to the game menu. When switching to the Pokémon item, he can directly see the various data of the Pokémon, including ability value, personality, characteristics, individual value, effort value and the skills learned by the Pokémon. It's as if Naoki's eyes are integrated with various value detectors.

In addition to Pokémon, this panel also has several other functions. The first one is the Pokédex, which is just like the one in the game. It can automatically collect information about Pokémon that Naoki has seen and captured. It doesn't have much use for Naoki, and its effect is no different from the Pokémon Pokédex in the hands of other trainers.

The second item is Pokémon. As mentioned before, the Pokémon option in the game menu has a much more abnormal effect than that in the game. It can be called a plug-in. After all, if you can directly know the data of Pokémon in a Pokémon battle, many things will become simplified.

The third item is a backpack, a function that is not very useful. You have to know that the technology tree in the Pokémon world is ridiculously skewed, and the development of space technology is very complete. Devon Company has already developed a space backpack, and the price is very affordable. The only advantage of this backpack on the panel is that Naoki can carry one less backpack.

The fourth function is not available in the game. It occupies two of the original settings and save items in the game. It is called Tasks. This function will release some tasks from time to time, and completing the tasks will reward some Pokémon-related props.

The fifth function is the Trainer Card, and since Naoki doesn't have one yet, it is grey and unselectable.
