Chapter 23 Stone Forest Town and Evolution Stone
It's not too late to think about Eevee's evolution now. Naoki doesn't have an evolution stone on him, but his destination is one of the most famous evolution stone producing areas in the Kalos region. Shilin Town may not have other things, but it certainly has all kinds of stones, such as the most basic Fire Stone, Thunder Stone, and Water Stone. You can definitely find them in the market.
Naoki has decided to buy a Water Stone to evolve Eevee into Vaporeon. Without the invincible Water-drawing Slugmon, he can only use the ordinary Water-storing Vaporeon. The two characteristics are very different. The Water-drawing Slugmon has a lower racial value than Vaporeon, but it is respected as the Kyogre Killer, while Vaporeon is nothing.
On the way from Haruka City to Shilin Town, Naoki did not see any members of Team Flare. Most of the people here were trainers and tourists who traveled here from all over the place, as well as some weirdos like relic maniacs and fossil maniacs who liked to study all kinds of stones. There were unexpectedly few wild Pokémon. Naoki had only seen this Eevee that had come up to him.
Naoki arrived at Shilin Town without any obstruction. After asking an old man on the roadside where the nearby market was, Naoki went straight there.
Not long after, Naoki exchanged the hard stone he dug out from the Shining Cave for a water stone of very good quality from a digger.
After arriving at the Pokémon Center, Naoki asked for a room and released Eevee.
"Eevee, do you want to evolve into Vaporeon?"
"Ibrahimovic?"
Naoki took out the Water Stone. After hesitating for a moment, Eevee stretched out its little paw and touched the Water Stone.
The Water Stone was absorbed by Eevee, the light of evolution flashed, and Eevee successfully evolved into Vaporeon.
"By the way, you are actually a girl?" Naoki looked at the Pokémon panel in the menu bar to confirm the values after Vaporeon's evolution, only to find that the Eevee he caught actually had the ♀ symbol.
Although Pokémon like Eevee look cute, the male to female ratio is indeed seven to one. Maybe this is what they mean by "if it looks this cute, it must be a boy?"
"Eevee!" After Vaporeon adapted to its new form, it shouted happily and threw itself into Naoki's arms to act coquettishly. Its personality is similar to that of Kirliam.
Just as Naoki was thinking this, Kirlia had already run out of the Poké Ball and threw herself into Naoki's arms, stretching out her hand to try to push Vaporeon away.
Naoki had a headache. When Totoro and Riolu were young, they also liked to compete for each other's favor. After growing up, they became more shy and didn't like to act like a spoiled child anymore. He didn't expect that he would have to experience this kind of thing again.
"Stop making trouble, both of you. Get some rest. We're going to set off for the Mirror Cave soon." Naoki separated the two fighting Pokémon and patted them on the head to make them return to their Poké Balls obediently.
Naoki did not plan to pass through the Mirror Cave quickly, but stayed in the Mirror Cave for a few more days. First, it would take a lot of time to find a suitable seed iron ball, and second, Naoki planned to conduct special training in this area for a period of time to make all his Pokémon reach level 30 or above.
Kirlia and Charmeleon are not far from level 30, but Vaporeon is a little behind, only level 16. However, there should be a lot of Rock and Ground-attribute Pokémon in the Mirror Cave, so Water-attribute Pokémon should be able to level up quickly.
After lunch, Naoki came to the outside of the Mirror Cave. There were several wild pomelo trees growing on the hillside, so there were quite a lot of wild Pokémon nearby, which gave Naoki the opportunity to train Pokémon. Naoki pulled out all the Pokémon and gave an energy cube as a condition for a sparring match, allowing the nearby wild Pokémon to fight against his Pokémon.
Most wild Pokémon cannot resist the temptation of energy cubes. It is worthwhile for them to eat an energy cube after a battle. After all, fighting for food is a normal part of life in the wild for wild Pokémon. And after the battle with Naoki's Pokémon, Naoki will be responsible for the treatment, so there is no need to worry about the battle.
For two days in a row, Naoki ran back and forth between the Pokémon Center and the outskirts of the Mirror Cave, leading a life that went back and forth between the two points. Naoki's Pokémon also gained a lot of combat experience and their levels increased a lot.
Lucario's level surpassed that of Tutu, reaching the highest level in the team at 39. Tutu's level increased less, reaching level 37. Charmeleon and Chirulian both reached level 29, the latter was only one level away from evolving, and Charmeleon was not far from evolving into Charizard. Vaporeon's level increased the most, reaching level 26. After two days of training, Vaporeon learned a lot of new moves, and his personality became much more stable, no longer as jumpy as before.
On the third day, Naoki stopped this training and prepared to enter the Mirror Cave. As for the wild Pokémon outside the Mirror Cave, they did not show any strange reactions after learning that Naoki was leaving, and returned to their normal lives. There are relatively few Pokémon like Eevee that actively come to the trainer and ask to be captured.
Turning our attention back to Naoki, he has now entered the Mirror Cave. The reason why this cave is called the Mirror Cave is very simple. Many of the walls here are as smooth as mirrors, and there are crystal pillars of various colors around. Due to the refraction and reflection of light, it is easy for people to get lost in this huge cave.
Naoki brought a week's worth of food with him before he came in, and he would not leave until he caught the seed iron ball. Naoki did not need to be afraid of getting lost, because even if he got lost, Kirlia could use teleportation to take him back to the outside of the cave.
The most numerous Pokémon in the Mirror Cave are still our old friends, Geodude and Zubat, followed by two rock-type Pokémon, Stoneball and Diamondback. The remaining ones are Bells, Ovum, and the occasional passing Monini. Those who are luckier may encounter powerful wild Pokémon such as Wall-Doll, Goran, and Soul-Snatching Eye. The remaining ones are the target of Naoki's trip, Iron Ball, and the rare Rolling Bat compared to the Zubat. In addition to these Pokémon, the remaining ones are probably Pokémon that ran in from outside. There are very few of them, and generally speaking, you won't encounter them.
The Seed Ball that Naoki is looking for is different from ordinary Pokémon. It usually does not live on the ground, but likes to hang on the top of the cave like the Rolling Bat. It takes some time to find it.
Naoki asked Vaporeon and Kirlia to follow him. The former was responsible for driving away the Pokémon that were causing trouble, while the latter helped to find the trace of the Seed Iron Ball.
