Chapter 25 Conversation with Pokémon

After finishing the chores in the camp, Naoki and the Pokémon sat together to eat dinner. It was inconvenient to make a fire in the cave, so Naoki's dinner was bread brought in from outside and a large bottle of Moo Moo Milk. The Pokémon's dinner was, as usual, energy blocks prepared in advance.

Everyone welcomed Seed Ball, who was infected by the warm atmosphere and finally stopped looking expressionless. Perhaps he was not used to so many people, Seed Ball shyly responded to other Pokémon. After greeting each other, even if they knew each other, the friendship between Pokémon was much simpler and purer than that between people. As long as they were not natural enemies, they could probably become friends. If two Pokémon were Pokémon of the same trainer, even mortal enemies like Stoat and Snake could live in peace.

During the chat after dinner, Naoki tactfully asked everyone about their dreams, and all the Pokémon fell into deep thought.

"I want to stay with Naoki forever!" Kirlia was the first to speak. Probably any Pokémon that doesn't hate its trainer has a similar dream.

"Tutu said he wants to travel around the world painting landscapes." Kirlia translated for the second Tutu who spoke.

"Going around the world to paint the scenery? That's really Tutu's style! Aren't we going to visit different parts of the world now? After we've visited the Kalos region, we'll go to other places, like the Hoenn region or the Unova region? Don't you all like to eat the local specialties, Kamahen Senbei and Feiyun ice cream?"

All the Pokémon nodded in unison. All the Pokémon in Naoki's team were foodies and had no resistance to such delicious snacks.

"Lucario said he wants to become stronger and his current goal is to defeat his brother head-on." Kirlia continued to translate for Lucario.

"Don't worry, it will be there soon. We will arrive in Sala City." Naoki said with a smile.

The brother Lucario is talking about is the Lucario in Korne's hand. When they arrive in Sala City, Naoki will definitely fight with Korne. Even if Naoki does not take the initiative to find Korne, the latter will come to him.

"What about you?" Naoki looked at the other three Pokémon.

"Charmeleon said he didn't know," said Kirlia.

The Charmeleon stretched out his claws and scratched his head.

"Then take your time. As long as we keep traveling, you should be able to find something you want to do or something you like." Naoki nodded.

Charmeleon is younger than other Pokémon, and he just came out of the Pokémon Research Institute, so it's normal that he doesn't have any favorite things.

"Seed Iron Ball's dream is to eat well and sleep well every day." Kirlia glanced at Seed Iron Ball and made sure that the other party was not talking nonsense.

"Well, it's a pretty good dream! I also hope that everyone can eat well, sleep well, and be happy every day." Naoki didn't think there was anything wrong with this dream. For wild Pokémon, such days are happy days.

"Okay, Vaporeon doesn't have any dreams, so we can all take a rest." Kirlia moved towards Naoki and hugged Naoki's right hand.

"Eevee! Eevee!" Vaporeon protested loudly, and it was obvious that Kirlia did not translate for her.

"You two stop making trouble. Can't you just get along well?" Naoki reached out and held down the two Pokémon to prevent them from fighting.

"Okay, let's go to bed. We will be preparing to go deeper tomorrow."

The route to the Mirror Cave is quite complicated. Naoki has never been here before. Fortunately, he bought a simple map from a mountaineering uncle before coming here. If he wants to go through the Mirror Cave to Sala City, he needs to go deeper. If he does not consider other factors, it will take half a day to walk. If he encounters more Pokémon on the way, Naoki will probably have to stay in the cave for another day.

They had to travel early tomorrow morning, so Naoki asked Kirlia and Vaporeon to apologize to each other and then went to bed early. Although the two Pokémon didn't like each other, they stopped making trouble under Naoki's authority. As for what they were thinking, only they knew.

The next morning, after the Mirror Cave became slightly brighter, Naoki set out to continue walking towards the depths.

On the way, Naoki met two Soul-Eyes that were hunting Diamondback. This was not the first time that Naoki witnessed the death of a Pokémon. This is the norm in the slightly dark world of Pokémon, just like carnivores hunting herbivores. It is the law of nature. In order not to interfere with the lives of wild Pokémon, Naoki did not take action.

Like humans, Pokémon can also die of old age and be killed. If a Pokémon's stamina reaches zero and it falls into a "dying" state, if it continues to be attacked, its vitality will be consumed, which is the real health bar. If the health bar is gone, it is really dead. Generally speaking, Pokémon under the control of Pokémon trainers are unlikely to be killed, but wild Pokémon are different. Once they are defeated by their natural enemies, the only outcome left for them is death.

In fact, there are implicit mentions of this aspect in the animation and games. For example, the Toucan will prey on the Weevil, and bird-type Pokémon such as Pidgeot, Spearow, and Fletch will prey on insect-type Pokémon such as Caterpillar and Hornet. Pokémon such as Haunted Eye that feed on minerals and gems will naturally prey on Diamondback.

However, when these two bewitching eyes saw Naoki, they attacked him without hesitation, forcing Naoki to fight back. Kirlia had to use a little more strength, probably because Naoki was simply in a bad mood.

After defeating the two Haunted Eyes, Kirlia gained the last bit of experience, reached level 30, and successfully evolved into Gardevoir. The evolved Gardevoir was much taller, already a head taller than Naoki, which resulted in Naoki being unable to break free when it suddenly hugged him, and was not released until Gardevoir had hugged him enough.

"Thank you, Gardevoir. I know you're trying to divert my attention, but I'm not that fragile."

After all, Naoki is the one who takes care of the orchard, and he has killed quite a few insect Pokémon, so he is not a good guy. In addition, he has a darker plot similar to the Pokémon special in his mind, so the death of some Pokémon that have nothing to do with him will not cause any harm to Naoki.

"No, I just want to hug Naoki." Gardevoir smiled playfully.

"Stop messing around and let's go." Naoki looked at Gardevoir helplessly. He didn't know how much truth there was in his words. However, it was sometimes difficult to resist when Pokémon was too close to him. Naoki didn't know what to say and could only sigh helplessly.
