Chapter 29: Take a boat to Haiyi City

According to the agreement with Kornie, Naoki stayed in the Training Tower for one night and accompanied her in training the next day.

Naoki admires the gym trainers in the Pokémon League. They have to fight Pokémon almost every day, and often they have to lose to others on purpose. This is impossible without a strong heart. This also requires gym trainers to have a physique far beyond that of ordinary people. When Pokémon are training, trainers also have to train with Pokémon.

After two days of training, Naoki said goodbye to Korne and prepared to leave for Seawing City. Korne did not try to keep him this time, and the two agreed to become stronger the next time they met and have another Pokémon battle.

There is a sea between Sala City and Haiyi City. Vaporeon is not big enough to carry Naoki out to sea, so Naoki can only take a boat from the port of Sala City.

If he had no choice, Naoki would never take a boat. As anyone who knows about the Pokémon world knows, ships are either sinking or on the way to sinking. Although Naoki doesn't think he is that unlucky, he still prepared a life jacket in his backpack in advance, so that in the worst case scenario, at least he can let Ibrahimovic get ashore by himself.

It turned out that Naoki was just thinking too much. The small boat arrived safely at the port of Seawing City without any Gyarados attack or anything like that.

Haiyi City is the largest port city in Carlos. After getting off the ship, you can see ships everywhere and a towering lighthouse not far away.

Naoki walked towards the lighthouse. If he walked a short distance south from there, he would reach Haiyi City.

Naoki has already planned his trip to Haiyi City this time. There are mainly two things: one is to challenge the grass-attribute gym in Haiyi City, and the other is to visit the Cave of the Poseidon in the northwest of Haiyi City.

Naoki doesn't know if the latter exists in reality, but in the game, after the protagonist clears the level, he can come here to meet the three sacred birds, namely Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres. Naoki doesn't want to capture them, but mainly wants to see what the strength of the mythical beasts is like in the world he lives in.

In the game, the legendary Pokémon is just a Pokémon with higher racial stats than ordinary Pokémon, and it is not impossible to defeat them. But in the animation, the legendary Pokémon is a bit outrageous. When ordinary Pokémon face the upper level god, there is no chance of winning at all.

Naoki plans to challenge the gym first, as the latter is more illusory and there is no need to force it.

When he arrived at the Haiyi City Gym, Naoki was informed that the gym owner, Mr. Fu, had gone out to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly built train in Haiyi City. It was said that a Pokémon battle competition was also held there, and the winners could get free tickets and generous rewards. At the same time, Naoki also learned that the registration for the competition had ended, and if he rushed over now, he would probably only be able to watch.

It was a bit regrettable that there were no free tickets. Naoki had originally planned to take the bullet train to Miare City after finishing his things here, but watching the game was also a good pastime. Naoki trotted in the direction pointed by the gym gatekeeper.

When Naoki arrived at the station, the game had entered the final decisive stage. Both sides of the game were teenagers in their teens, who looked like they had been traveling for two or three years. The Pokémon of both sides were respectively the final form of the three starter Pokémon of the Unova region, Glaive, and the evolved form of the Coyote, the prototype of the famous saying "wild dogs" that were so numerous that they were like stray dogs on the roadside.

The levels of both sides are over 50, and these two Pokémon have already reached the strength of gym leader-level Pokémon. Naoki was somewhat glad that he arrived late and did not take the field, otherwise he would have been beaten up by these two guys.

Naoki learned the rules of the competition from a passerby. Each player has a Pokémon, and the competition lasts one-on-one until the champion emerges. It seems that these two Pokémon are probably the trump cards of these two people. It is not uncommon for a trainer who has traveled for two or three years to have a trump Pokémon of the early 50s.

Turning our attention back to the competition field, the battle between the two sides has almost reached a fever pitch. The Greatsword Ghost Sword danced once and then used the Water Tail attack, while the Big Wolfhound used a Long Howl and then continuously used Thunder Fang attacks.

As a result, the Great Sword Demon's low health triggered the torrent and defeated the Great Wolfhound to win the game. The reward for the game was a free ticket and a mysterious water drop that increased the damage of water-attribute moves.

"Naoki!"

Just as Naoki finished watching the ribbon-cutting ceremony and was about to challenge the gym, someone in the crowd suddenly called his name. Naoki turned his head subconsciously, and was knocked away by the person who rushed over.

Now, I can guess who it is without even looking. The person who came is a girl with breasts as big as a flat chest. Her name is Mimi. She is one of Naoki's father's assistants. She is already sixteen years old but still looks reckless. The most important thing is that this girl's strength is comparable to that of a humanoid monster. Naoki has been knocked away by her several times.

Naoki got up from the ground, looked at Mimi with resentment, and said, "Sister Mimi, why are you here?"

"Ahaha, sorry, sorry!" Mimi walked over with a silly smile on her face.

"I went to the Alola region a while ago and investigated the fairy-attribute Pokémon there. I just came back yesterday. I was originally planning to take a bus back to Miare City, but I happened to run into the ribbon-cutting ceremony."

"Alola region? Sister Mimi, have you seen any Pokémon you haven't seen before?"

Mimi nodded excitedly and said, "Yes! I met a lot of Pokémon I have never seen before. The Pokémon Center there also uses a fairy-type Pokémon called Flower Therapy Ring to help with treatment. And there are also legendary Pokémon with fairy attributes there! I just haven't seen them."

"What about you, Naoki? Have you already gone on your trip? Do you want to go back to Miare City with me?"

Naoki shook his head and said, "No, Sister Mimi, you go back first. I have some things to do here, so I will go back in a few days."

"Is that so? Okay then."

It took some time to talk to Mimi. Mr. Fu seemed to have left, just about ten minutes late. There were already so many people in front of Naoki that it would probably take most of the day just to queue up.

"It seems there is no chance today. Let's come again tomorrow." Naoki was a little helpless. He didn't want to waste too much time on queuing, so he could only do other things first.

Naoki went to the market and bought a fishing rod and bait for fishing Pokémon in the sea. According to the store owner, this kind of fishing rod can even withstand the pull of an angry Gyarados, and can also amplify the user's strength dozens of times, even a Howler whale can be pulled up. It can only be said that this is worthy of the Pokémon world, even the fishing rod is black technology.
