Chapter 546 Discovery

Crocodile's voice was low and slow, and every word seemed to carry weight, hitting Buggy's heart.

Especially, his eyes were fixed on Bucky's face.

It was as if one could see through that exaggerated smile and see his true thoughts deep in his heart.

Looking at Crocodile's expression, Buggy's laughter gradually became a little dry, and his dancing movements seemed a little stiff.

He felt that Crocodile's gaze was like a sharp knife, peeling off his carefully disguised shell bit by bit.

But he doesn't want to lose the CEO position. After all, it's very comfortable to be a hands-off boss.

So even though a trace of cold sweat seeped out of Buggy's forehead, he still had that exaggerated smile on his face.

"Hahaha! Crocodile, are you confused today?

Why do you keep saying such incomprehensible things? " Bucky smiled and wiped the sweat off his forehead with his hand.

"What do you mean by checks and balances, what do you mean by winning over? I don't understand!

I have always been lucky, and I just happened to get a bargain every time!"

Crocodile did not respond, but took a deep puff of his cigar and slowly exhaled the smoke.

The smoke swirled between the two people, as if adding a hazy barrier to the conversation.

"Good luck?" Crocodile chuckled, with a hint of sarcasm in his tone.

"Bucky, do you think I'm going to believe that?

You may be able to fool others, but you can't fool me.

Now think back, every step you take may seem random, but it is actually carefully designed.

You let everyone think you are just an insignificant clown, but in fact, you are the real manipulator of this game."

“Uh…” Bucky’s smile finally faltered.

His eyes flickered for a moment, and then he forced a smile and said, "Hey, Crocodile, you're going too far!

I don't have the energy to control anything!

I just… just…”

"Just what?" Crocodile interrupted him with a hint of aggressiveness in his tone.

“Just happened to make everyone let down their guard against you?

Just so everyone happens to think you're harmless?

Fortunately, you can get benefits from every major event?

Bucky, your acting skills are indeed good, but unfortunately, you can’t hide it from me now!

I don't like lying, I want your real opinion!

Because I, Crocodile, will never listen to a clown.

Tell me, are you a clown?

“Heh…” The corners of Bucky’s mouth twitched slightly, and the smile on his face finally disappeared completely.

He lowered his head and was silent for a moment, then slowly raised his head with a hint of coldness in his eyes.

"Crocodile, what do you want to say?"

Bucky's voice became deeper, no longer as exaggerated and funny as before, but instead revealed a sense of calmness and composure.

Crocodile raised his eyebrows slightly, seeming satisfied with Buggy's reaction.

He straightened up, removed the cigar from his lips, and flicked the ash.

"What I want to say is, Buggy, you've been hiding it too deeply." Crocodile's voice was low and slow.

“Your ambition, your strength, and even your wisdom, are far beyond anyone’s imagination.

You make everyone underestimate you, including me."

Buggy did not respond immediately, but just looked at Crocodile quietly, with a hint of complexity in his eyes.

After a moment, he suddenly laughed, but this time the laughter was no longer exaggerated, but rather a bit helpless.

"Crocodile, you're right. I did hide a lot." Buggy's voice was calm and frank.

"But you know what? In this world, sometimes hiding yourself is the best way to survive.

Especially in this pirate world full of ambition and betrayal."

Crocodile narrowed his eyes slightly, seeming surprised by Buggy's answer.

He said nothing, just quietly waiting for Bucky to continue.

"Do you think I want to be a manipulator?" Bucky smiled bitterly and shook his head.

“No, I just want to survive, that’s all.

But in this world, if you want to survive, you must be smarter and more cunning than others.

I just... chose what worked best for me.”

Crocodile was silent for a moment, then nodded slowly: "Perhaps you are right.

But Bucky, is your ambition really just to survive?

Or do you want more?

For example...if you read it every time as a casual joke."

Bucky didn't answer immediately. He just raised his head and looked through the gaps in the beams at the endless night sky in the distance.

There was a hint of depth in his eyes, as if he was thinking about something.

“Who knows?” Bucky said softly, with a hint of self-mockery in his tone

“Maybe one day, even I won’t be able to figure out what I really want.”

Crocodile looked at Buggy, with a complicated look in his eyes.

He suddenly felt that the clown in front of him might be more elusive than he had imagined.

"Bucky, you're such an interesting guy." Crocodile finally said, with a hint of emotion in his tone.

"Perhaps, I should re-evaluate you."

Buggy turned his head and looked at Crocodile, with that exaggerated smile on his face again: "Hahaha! Crocodile, you finally got it!

But don't think too much, I'm not interested in playing any mind games with you!"

Crocodile chuckled and shook his head: "Whatever you say, Buggy.

I warn you, though, don't overdo it.

Otherwise, one day, you will play with fire and get burned.

Checks and balances cannot possibly maintain balance.”

Bucky's smile faltered for a moment, but quickly returned to normal.

He waved his hand and said nonchalantly: "Don't worry, I'm a lucky guy!

Playing with fire is no problem at all!"

Crocodile didn't say anything else, just looked at Buggy deeply, then turned and left.

His footsteps gradually faded away and finally disappeared into the darkness.

Bucky stood there, the smile on his face gradually disappearing. He lowered his head and looked at his hands, a complex emotion flashing in his eyes.

"Playing with fire, getting burned?" Bucky murmured softly, with a hint of self-mockery in his tone.

"Maybe... But in this world, sometimes, not playing with fire is the greatest danger."
