Rebirth Mission

Chapter 1 Second Life

The walls and floor were dark grey, and the room was bare without any decoration. There were no windows, no furniture, and even no lights. It was cramped and dark.

The ground was very damp, with dark brown marks spreading from the middle to the surrounding areas, and the air was filled with a strong smell of disinfectant and blood.

In the middle of the room, a young girl was lying on an operating table.

The naked body was covered with bruises, the skin was tightly attached to the bones, and the body was bony. The blood vessels were clearly visible, extending to the upper arms and forearms, and ending abruptly at the wrists.

The same defect is also seen below the calf.

The girl had sunken cheekbones, dark circles under her eyes, and bloodshot eyes. Even with the shadowless light from above shining on her, her pupils did not change at all, and were as dark as a pool of stagnant water.

The people on both sides of the operating table were talking, laughing, and even touching the girl from time to time.

Footsteps were heard and several people came in from outside, holding low-temperature boxes in their hands.

"Are these enough?"

"That's enough. Although this woman has been tortured for several years, she is still young and most of her organs can be used."

One of the men walked closer and looked at the girl: "Why is she so quiet? Is she under anesthesia?"

A man sneered, "The anesthetic is more expensive than hers. She must have accepted her fate. Tie her up quickly. Don't move around in pain and injure her other organs."

Two or three men used restraints to tie the girl's neck, waist and broken limbs tightly.

A man randomly rubbed disinfectant alcohol on the girl's body, and then used a scalpel to cut open the girl's chest.

The pain of the cutting stimulated her nerves, and the girl's eyes became clear for a moment.

But that was all. He didn't have any other reaction until he felt the blood vessels connected to his heart being cut.

My pupils began to dilate, and everything in front of me gradually became dark.

----

"Sixth Miss, please wake up. The master and others are waiting for you to eat."

"Miss Sixth?"

Leng Yujing opened her eyes and sat up suddenly.

The room is warmly decorated and fully furnished. The gauze curtains beside the floor-to-ceiling windows flutter slowly in the wind. The bright sunlight shines on the balcony and extends to the edge of the carpet under the bed. There is a wide double bed with soft and silky sheets under the palms.

palm?

Leng Yujing looked down at her hands, moved her fingers, then lifted the quilt. The ice silk nightgown covered her knees, extending her slender calves. She twisted her ankles and breathed a sigh of relief at the sight of her feet being barely visible and intact.

"Miss Sixth?"

Leng Yujing then looked up at the source of the sound. It was Xiaoshui, one of the people hired by the family. She was pretty and cute, and not very old.

"You go out first, I'll be downstairs soon."

Xiao Shui left the room and closed the door.

Leng Yujing covered her heart, feeling the beating rhythm inside, and took a deep breath.

I got out of bed, walked into the cloakroom, and looked at myself in the floor-length mirror.

Her long, slightly curly hair fell to her waist, smooth and shiny, with delicate facial features and a childish face.

How many times has this happened?

I died three times, each time in a different way.

Especially last time.

They were sold to the black market abroad, where they suffered both physical and mental torture, and were eventually disemboweled and their organs removed.

If the heart-wrenching pain was not still fresh in my memory, I would probably have thought it was a dream.

After several years of torture and humiliation, his nerves had long been numb. When he was finally lying on the operating table, he was even very happy, the kind of happiness that came from finally being free.

The sharp scalpel inserted into the body was icy cold.

It cuts through the skin layer by layer, piercing the heart and bones.

I don’t know why I didn’t scream out loud at that time, or even react at all.

Maybe I'm numb, from the nerves to the sense of pain, everything is numb.

Thinking back to the past life, I ended up in this state because of the schemes of my closest blood relatives.

He clasped his wrists, tightening them little by little, until his knuckles turned white, and tried to control his trembling arms.

The tightly clenched back teeth caused the cheeks to be tense, and the frequency of the deep breathing caused the shoulders to rise and fall.

After calming down the raging anger in my heart for a long time, I found one of the few pants in the closet and put them on, a casual short-sleeved shirt, and tied up my long hair into a bun.

Going downstairs into the restaurant, the rectangular dining table was full of people.

The main seats were occupied by Leng Hongwen and Lan Shu, and opposite them were the three sons of the Leng family. The youngest son of the Leng family sat at the first seat, leaving two empty seats.

Hearing the sound, several people looked over, with expressions of disappointment and resistance on their faces.

They cared a lot about their sister Leng Yujing, but they couldn't say they liked her very much, simply because Leng Yujing had been naughty and rebellious since she was a child and had done too many bad things and pranks.

For example, he secretly replaced the contract that the eldest brother was going to use for a meeting, causing the project cooperation to fail; he deleted the academic paper of the second brother, affecting his assessment score; he replaced the handcuffs of the third brother, almost letting the prisoner who had just been arrested escape; he smashed the game console of the fourth brother...

There are countless such things. I won’t list them all, but even one pair of hands might not be able to count them all from one person.

We named her "Jing" in the hope that she would not be disturbed by external factors and stick to her original nature and intention.

But later, as she got older, everyone just hoped that she would calm down and not get into trouble or act naughty.

Compared with Leng Yujing, her twin sister Leng Yuan has been well-behaved and sensible since childhood, and is also loved by her family and elders.

They have wondered more than once why there is such a big gap between twins?

Lan Shu smiled gently: "You're awake, come and sit down, your sister will be back soon, we will eat together."

In the whole family, except for her mother Lan Shu, who treats Leng Yujing as gently as always, everyone else has some grudge against her.

"I got it, Mom." He agreed and pulled out his own dining chair and sat down.

The fourth child, Leng Zhengrui, was playing with his phone when he asked casually, "You're wearing pants today? Where are you going to get into trouble again?"

The eldest brother, Leng Gongze, wore a black shirt with a light grey tie and a jet black suit vest. He looked like a business elite. He glared at him and said, “Fourth brother!”

Leng Zhengrui shrugged and continued playing his own game.

The second brother, Leng Shangxu, pushed up his gold-rimmed glasses with chains and asked, "Are you feeling unwell?"

Leng Yujing rarely wears pants throughout the year, and her entire closet is filled with skirts. She would only wear pants for a few days when the weather was too cold or she had a cold.

Although his sister is naughty and rebellious, he is still a blood relative after all, and he still cares about her health. Especially as a doctor, he pays special attention to the health of his family members.

Seeing that she didn't respond, Leng Shangxu reached out to feel her pulse, but unexpectedly Leng Yujing directly retracted her hand.

Their prejudice and distrust towards her, even though they were blood relatives, made Leng Yujing instinctively resist.

"I am fine."

Everyone frowned when they heard her distant tone. No matter how harshly she criticized or how fiercely she argued, they had never seen her with such an attitude.

Leng Shangxu's hands froze on the dining table, and he looked her up and down in confusion.

Leng Hongwen, as the father and the head of the Leng family, is serious and old-fashioned. He can't stand Leng Yujing's attitude: "Jing'er, your second brother cares about you, how come you don't know any manners!"

Leng Yujing turned her head to look at him, her eyes calm and without any emotion. She did not show any grievance or unwillingness from being scolded in the past, and she did not even say a word of rebuttal.

Leng Hongwen had seen a lot of storms, but he didn't expect to be stared at by his little daughter in this way. He couldn't help but be stunned for a moment.

Leng Yujing just glanced at me and turned her head away: [So what? Anyway, I have always been like this in your impression. ]

The Leng family's attention was once again focused on Leng Yujing. What did they hear just now?

She actually openly talked back to her father?

Leng Hongwen had just come back to his senses from Leng Yujing's gaze when he heard her voice again. He wanted to continue scolding her, but hesitated.

His eyes were always on Leng Yujing. He didn't see her open her mouth at all, but how could he hear any sound?

That voice belonged to Leng Yujing, there was no way he could have heard it wrong.

Not only did he think so, but several other people also thought so. They had heard this voice for 18 years, but she didn't move her mouth at all. Where did the voice come from?

"Jing'er, did you just... um!"

Leng Hongwen wanted to confirm whether she had spoken just now, but his heart suddenly felt like it was grabbed by someone and tightened.
