The next day, Sera, who was in better physical condition, woke up first. Looking at Bennett who was still sleeping soundly, Sera raised the corners of her mouth, put on her clothes, and walked out of the tent with a smile on her face.

"You actually became his lover."

Kenny had been waiting outside the tent for a long time. He knew that Sierra would not accept him, but he couldn't understand why Sierra would go to Bennett.

"Yeah." Sera's straightforwardness made Kenny even more confused.

"You obviously have better options."

“He’s just the best.”

"I don't understand."

“No one needs you to understand.”

Kenny looked at Sera's red hair. The color was no longer as bright as he remembered. After so many years, he had already given up. He lowered his eyes and whispered, "Then I wish you happiness."

If his voice hadn't trembled, his final turn must have been very cool.

The breeze blew by, and the military camp was exceptionally quiet today.

Black armor, black sword, Kenny always wears the same outfit. He likes the military camp. Here he doesn't need to wear tight dresses, no one teaches him noble principles, he doesn't need to see his sister's worried face every day, and he doesn't need to see his mother crying in front of the portrait. The cold military camp only makes Kenny cold.

Sera watched Kenny leave, humming a little tune as she went to find the cook.

Feeling suffocated, Bennett shook his head and jumped up from the sleeping bag in a daze. Sera next to him smiled, but she didn't have time to take her hand back. It must be her fault.

"It's time for breakfast, open your mouth, ah..."

Sera forked the cut steak in front of Bennett. Confused and puzzled, Bennett opened his mouth and bit off the steak. The delicious sauce hit his nerves, and after a shock, Bennett quickly snatched the plate.

"I'd better do it myself. It's weird."

Sera also picked up her own plate and started eating voraciously. She was not a noble and did not need any manners.

Bennett likes watching Sera eat, which always makes him feel hungry. He also learned from Sera to stuff meat into his mouth in big mouthfuls, and he felt satisfied instantly.

After dinner, Bennett lay back in his sleeping bag. Sera didn't say anything to him. After handing the plate to the cook, she returned to the tent to maintain her weapons.

"How long will it take to set out?"

"Leave the day after tomorrow."

Bennett stood up to look for clothes and Sera threw the pants to him.

"Let's go see Mom and Dad."

Sera handed the last coat to Bennett and said blankly, "Why do you suddenly want to see Uncle Kent?"

"Still calling me uncle? Call me mom and dad now."

Bennett hugged the stunned Sierra and stood on tiptoe to whisper in her ear: "Let's go home."

The green lake water was rippling in the wind, and mandarin ducks were diving in and out of the water in pairs. Under a huge parasol by the lake, an old couple was lying on lounge chairs, enjoying their wonderful life after retirement. Of course, there was only one old person, and the other could still be called a woman.

Kent heard the footsteps getting closer and closer, and stood up to see who was coming. It was Bennett and Sera holding hands.

"Dad, Mom." (Both men and women)

Kent and his mother were stunned, and it took them a while to come back to their senses.

The mother smiled. She knew what Sera was thinking and she could accept this result. Although Aimee was engaged to Bennett, she was not a member of the Kent family and would never be. Although Sera would not marry Bennett, she was a member of the family, as she had been in the past and would be from now on.

The mother rushed over excitedly and hugged Sera, then kissed her little son, and said with a smile: "I've been waiting for this."

Kent rubbed his brow and said, "Does Aimee know about you two?"

Sera and Bennett looked at each other, and Bennett spoke up: "I'll go explain it to Aimee."

Kent actually doesn't like Bennett's scumbag behavior. He himself doesn't have a lover, but this is his own child, and the man is not the one who suffers, so forget it.

"You must treat them both well. If I find out that one of them is wronged, you will be fine."

"That's enough, if you hadn't wanted to send Sera to the military camp, why would there be so many problems?"

The mother was the first one who couldn't stand it anymore. She supported Sera and she liked her very much. Although she used to be a servant of the lord's wife, she didn't like the aristocratic ways at all.

"What do you know? I'm doing this for Sera's own good. Only when you have the ability yourself can you be truly capable."

Kent knew that the point was not whether Sera went to the military camp or not, but that Bennett's talent as a mage was too strong. As long as he chose the mage, he would be with Aimee, and the current result for the two was the best.

Bennett and Sera could only tremble as they watched their quarreling parents. In fact, they both felt very guilty when they came. Fortunately, their parents didn't mind Sera's intervention at all. Her mother was even very happy, and Bennett felt relieved.

"Sierra, have lunch at home today."

"Okay."

However, in the end the family did not go home, but grilled fish directly by the lake. Kent brought enough seasonings and wine when he came, his mother also brought homemade snacks, Sera shot a few wild ducks, Bennett's spell made ignition convenient and quick, and the time passed happily in laughter.

After retirement, Kent aged much faster, he lost his fighting spirit and his body began to fail. The lunch was enjoyable, but it also made him feel exhausted and he needed to rest.

The mother covered Kent with a thin blanket and sat beside him in a daze. The last time she came, she was as lively as a child. It was only a few days ago, but this time she was a little hunched.

The mother looked up and smiled at Bennett and Sera, waving her hand to signal them that they could leave.

The two of them also waved their hands and quietly left the pure land of retired couples.

On the way back, both of them were silent. Although their parents accepted Sera, their parents' old age made Bennett and Sera particularly worried.

"They must have something to do."

Sera nodded in agreement.

"So what do they do?"

“The question is what does the father or mother want to do?”

The couple usually don't have any hobbies. Their greatest joy is watching Bennett grow up little by little. Sera rubbed Bennett's frown and said, "Ask him next time we meet."

"That's all."

Dongying is deserted today. As they are about to go to war, most of the soldiers are not in the barracks. Those with families make arrangements for them, while those without families go to pubs to drink and look for women. They have spent all the money they saved in the barracks. Before leaving, they have made plans to never come back.

Bennett and Sera returned to Sera's tent. Bennett liked this small tent now. The sleeping bag was more comfortable than his small bed.

Bennett opened the spell book and began to study the spell. Sera placed a cup of coffee next to Bennett and went to maintain her weapon.

In the evening, a soldier called out from outside the tent: "Captain Sera, is the Master Mage here with you?"

Bennett stood up and walked out.

"Master Mage, Captain Kenny is looking for you."

"understood."

"Sera, I'm going to go see what's going on."

"Go ahead and bring back dinner."

"Ok."

Kenny's tent was much bigger than Sera's. It was several tents connected together. Bennett lifted the curtain and found that Kenny was not the only one inside.

"I brought you clothes, dear."

Aimee's smile was a little stiff, she already knew about Sera's situation. Kenny obviously didn't want to get involved in this matter, he was checking the army's supply account book on the middle table.

Bennett felt a tight grip in his heart as he looked at Amy's smiling face which was uglier than crying.

"Aimee, let's go for a walk."
