At the end of March, Wei Jin went to New York as planned and met Lin Yingci for coffee downstairs of her apartment. The afternoon sun was particularly bright. She wore a simple black suspender skirt and her hair was casually tied up - she also cut her bangs, but she still had a mature and sexy style;

Lin Yingci cut her hair shorter, with slightly curled ends, just reaching her shoulders. She wore a black Chanel sleeveless vest dress and black short boots, looking relaxed and casual, yet very elegant.

"I feel much more comfortable and relaxed when I'm alone," she said, stirring her coffee casually, "and I can relax without being tense."

"I don't understand you guys," Wei Jin couldn't help but light a cigarette and looked at her carefully, "You've lost a lot of weight,"

"I'm not used to the food here," she made up an excuse.

"In fact, many things are more clear to bystanders," Wei Jin put down the hand holding the cigarette, "You may not understand, but we can see it clearly."

"What do you understand?" Lin Yingci still smiled, her tone very gentle, "What happened between me and Lin Jingran?"

"You mentioned it," Wei Jin quickly answered, "I didn't mention him."

"Why do you..." Lin Yingci frowned in confusion, "You always stand with him. I always feel that he is more important to you than me."

"Nothing like that," Wei Jin put out his cigarette, his eyes evasive, "He helped me before."

"Okay," Lin Yingci smiled and shook her head again, "Let's not dwell on this."

"Everyone in the world knows that he loves you," Wei Jin took two sips of coffee, "but you don't know."

"Wei Jin, some things," she paused, the smile on her face gone, "can only last forever if you give them up,"

"Why don't you just stay together?" She lit another cigarette. "Lin Jingran feels so lost without you."

"There will be others," she said, taking a sip of coffee slowly, "and the light will come back."

"Is it really because of Qin Sisi?" Wei Jin was still puzzled.

"No, it's because..." Lin Yingci slowly raised her head and looked into the distance, "His world is getting bigger and bigger, but I still like to stay in that small study room."

"What study room?" Wei Jin didn't understand. "Which study room?"

"Don't talk about him," she said, her face suddenly darkening, "Let's talk about us, your first store."

She smiled and leaned closer to her and continued to ask, "When will it open?"

"At the end of the month," Wei Jin quickly replied, but was interrupted by her just as he was about to say something.

"Have you decided on the guests for the ribbon-cutting ceremony?" Lin Yingci smiled and looked at her tenderly.

"It's settled, Youyang," Wei Jin didn't ask any more questions, just asked, "Will you come back?"

"No," she shook her head. "Shanghai..." She paused, and finally said, "Shanghai belongs to them."

"They're not together," Wei Jin couldn't help but blurt out, but Lin Yingci frowned, "Don't talk about them," she stood up again, "Do you want to go to class with me?"

Wei Jin also stood up and put on his coat: "Let's go."

Li Shu was admitted to Columbia University's graduate school of journalism. Her parents were delighted, but she was the only one who felt sad. That day, she went to visit Chen Jingwei alone.

"Journalism is my passion and my dream. I am really, really happy to have been admitted."

The two sat in the garden and chatted. Chen Jingwei listened to her story carefully.

"Grandpa, you helped me so much before," she said in a serious tone, "I am really, really grateful."

"It's okay, it's okay," Chen Jingwei waved his hands repeatedly, "Going abroad is of course a good thing."

"Yes," Li Shu also nodded, "I cherish this opportunity very much,"

"After you finish your postgraduate studies, if you want, you can still take the civil service exam," Chen Jingwei smiled. "It all depends on your own wishes."

"Well," Li Shu lowered her head, "I don't know what I would think at that time. Now I just want to go to school." She raised her head again, her eyes full of longing, "I want to see what world-class journalism is like."

"Very good," Chen Jingwei smiled and pushed his glasses, "Only by keeping your original aspiration in mind can you achieve your goal."
