Reborn Daughter: The Young Lady Wants to Make a Trouble
Chapter 334 Worth Watching
Li Xueyue's throat was a little dry when she finished speaking. She didn't expect that he had observed her to this extent. He knew her childhood, yet he continued to ask sensitive questions, forcing her fears to surface in her mind.
Everything she wanted to bury resurfaced—her inability to trust, to open up, to tell anyone anything.
It was not until he stepped forward to touch the other tear that Li Xueyue realized that a tear had already flowed out. Before long, the rain turned into a storm. The tears fell drop by drop.
"What should I do to you?" he whispered, hugging her without hesitation.
His arms were around her again, one at the back of her head and the other at her shoulders.
"You bottled all your emotions until the glass broke, leaving behind a mess of crying." Yu Zhen muttered. "I knew it would be like this."
Li Xueyue dug her fingers into his robe and balled up the silk in her hands. She hated his accuracy. She hated that he affected her in a way that no one else could.
Li Xueyue knew she was a crybaby, but she had never admitted it. Everything was suppressed: her frustration, fear, and pain - all of it. Not because she wanted to, but because she couldn't help it.
It's too difficult to tell everything.
"You said it yourself," Yu Zhen said. "Communication is very important in a relationship. However, you give me nothing but expect me to give you everything in return."
Although the words were harsh, the voice was soft, gentle even, as if he was comforting her rather than scolding her.
Li Xueyue didn't understand how he could have such great patience.
Was this whole argument his doing? Was he purposely starting it to make her snap? To get all her pent-up emotions out so she would have a new bottle to put it all in?
"I'm sorry," she admitted suddenly.
Li Xueyue felt his body trembling, and he let out a humorless laugh, cold and heartless. This was in stark contrast to his enthusiastic behavior.
He doted on her, but his kindness had its limits.
Li Xueyue never wanted to see that limit. She was afraid that one day he would no longer care about her.
What if he got tired of their bickering and decided to find someone more agreeable?
Li Xueyue put her arms around him and hugged him tightly. She felt the hand that was patting the back of her head stop.
His body was still, as if he was questioning everything. As if the tables had turned and he was the one who was hesitating about love.
"I'm scared," she whispered.
"what?"
"To expose my thoughts. I was afraid they would judge, afraid they would leave, afraid they wouldn't care. I didn't want to burden anyone else with my feelings, especially when everyone has their own troubles to worry about," she said.
“If everyone suppressed their emotions, we’d all go crazy.”
Li Xueyue blinked. What did he mean?
“It’s human nature to rant and vent our frustrations. The anger we pent up will come out of our mouths. We don’t have room for it all. We make friends for a reason – to share our problems, to share our lives. Have a great time in life.”
Li Xueyue's shoulders slumped. "But I don't have any friends..."
"Then what am I? A potato?" He snorted.
Li Xueyue raised her head suddenly. She was startled by his joke and forced a smile from the corner of her mouth. He looked down at her, smiled bitterly, and frowned.
“Yuzhen, I will listen to your problem,” she said. “If you listen to me.”
Yu-Jen gave her a pointed look. “That’s all I wanted from this argument.”
Li Xueyue nodded with a sullen face. "I didn't mean to quarrel with you."
"I don't mean to be so mean, Sunshine."
Li Xueyue bit her lower lip. "So...are we even?"
Yu Zhen chuckled. How could he say no when she stared at him with those big, sparkling eyes? She looked too promising for him to say no to her—but he couldn’t.
"Of course we're even."

When Li Xueyue walked out of Yu Zhen's private study, she felt like a burden had been lifted off her shoulders. She hadn't expected their conversation to end like this.
"Don't come here wearing such thin clothes next time. What if you catch a cold?" He naggled beside her.
Li Xueyue was surprised that he didn't keep his hands on her - this time. She turned her head to observe him. She wondered if his favorite color was black, because he always wore dark clothes, which also highlighted his facial features.
This makes him even more intimidating. Add to that the look in his eyes that he always has - brooding and unhappy - and it's no wonder that many people avoid him. They're just too afraid to offend him.
"Have you looked long enough?" Yu Zhen asked. He looked down at her.
"What a pity, there's nothing to see." Li Xueyue said coldly.
"Look, the sunshine." Yu Zhen said while patting her nose.
"When?"
"Your nose has grown longer because of your lies."
Yu Zhen looked at her dissatisfied eyes and smiled bitterly. She wrinkled her nose and turned her chin away.
"Is that why your nose is so big?" she asked.
"I don't have a big nose." Yu Zhen said expressionlessly.
Li Xueyue snorted. "I bet you picked your nose as a child. That would explain your unusually large nostrils."
She stared at him, sniggering at his annoyed expression. He glared at her and motioned for her to keep laughing.
Li Xueyue had to admit. She was lying. His nose was well-shaped, prominent, and good-looking. It matched his angular facial features perfectly.
His face was angular, as if it had been carved from a block of marble. A statue of a man can attract many admirers just by his appearance.
“The hole could probably hold a brush,” she added.
"I know there's still a hole to fill." Yu Zhen muttered.
Li Xueyue looked at him with her mouth wide open. "Why do you always make such vulgar remarks?"
"I mean the hole in your idiot brain." Yu Zhen said thoughtfully.
Li Xueyue wanted to wipe off the arrogant smile on his face. He really enjoyed teasing her.
"Sunshine, what are you thinking about?" he teased. "Dirty stuff again? I wouldn't be surprised."
"Maybe if you stop making puns, I won't say any more." Li Xueyue said expressionlessly.
"So you admitted it."
Li Xueyue stared at the floor. 'Great, great. Now he will tease you about this for the rest of his life!'
She was grateful when they suddenly stopped walking. They had finally reached the front door of her room that led to her bedroom.
Li Xueyue was startled. He suddenly grabbed her chin and forced her to look at him. Her voice was choked in her throat. His face was close to hers, and his lips were only a little distance away from hers.
Didn't he care about the gazes of the audience, the servants staring shyly at the floor, and the guards pretending to be deaf and dumb?
Yu Zhen leaned his face closer, his lips brushing against her ear. "Don't worry, Yangguang. Soon, all of your dirty fantasies will come true. And when they do, it will be worth the wait."
