Black Myth! Wukong kills gods and Buddhas!
Chapter 22: Palace of Hell 1
Wukong, with angry eyes and shining golden hoop, went into the netherworld alone, vowing to seek justice. The ten kings of hell lined up to wait for him, the wind howled, and ghosts loomed.
Wukong said, "I am the Great Sage Equaling Heaven, why do you imprison the souls of my brothers?" King Yama sneered, "The evil monkey is rampant and goes against the will of heaven. He deserves to be put to death!" Wukong was furious and swung his stick to hit him. Wherever the golden light went, the ghost soldiers scattered.
The King of Qin Guang in the First Hall held the Book of Life and Death in his hand, intending to decide the life and death of Wukong. Wukong appeared in front of him in a flash, and with one blow of his stick, the Book of Life and Death tore apart. The King of Hell was terrified and retreated three steps.
Next he went to the second hall, the King of Chujiang, who was in charge of the punishment hell, and set up a mountain of knives and a sea of fire. Wukong laughed loudly, "It's just a mere punishment, what's the point of mentioning it?" He jumped into the sea of fire, swept the golden hoop across, the mountain of knives collapsed, and the sea of fire was extinguished.
The third hall is the Emperor Song, who presides over the Black Rope Hell, where the evil spirits are imprisoned. Wukong swings his golden hoop, and the black ropes are cut. The evil spirits are freed and cheer in unison.
The fourth hall, the Five Senses King, has a great hell with ice and fire, which are tormenting each other. Wukong uses his divine power to melt the ice, extinguish the fire, and the hell becomes empty.
The fifth hall is King Yama, also known as Bao Lao, who is impartial and holds the power of the King of Fengdu. Wukong angrily rebuked: "How dare you claim to be king when you break the law?" King Yama was furious and ordered the ghosts to attack. Wukong danced with his golden hoop tightly, and the ghosts fell to the ground one after another, wailing.
The sixth palace is the Biancheng King, who is in charge of the Great Screaming Hell and the City of Wrongful Death. Wukong said, "What is the fault of those who died wrongfully? How could you bear it?" The Biancheng King was speechless, but saw that Wukong's golden hoop opened the gate of the City of Wrongful Death and the wronged souls were able to be reborn.
The seventh hall is ruled by the King of Mount Tai, who presides over the hell of scorching heat, where the fire is blazing and never extinguished. Wukong uses his magical powers to summon water from the East China Sea, which pours down, extinguishing the fire and making the hell cool.
The eighth palace, the City King, set up the Equal Hell, where he used the Karma Mirror to look at people and determine their punishment. Wukong laughed and said, "Good and evil will be rewarded, why do we need the Karma Mirror?" He smashed the Karma Mirror with a stick, and the Equal Hell disappeared.
The ninth hall, the King of Equality, rules the Avici Hell, which is the endless hell where there is no escape. Wukong was furious and his golden hoop turned into thousands of stick shadows. The Avici Hell collapsed and the prisoners escaped.
Finally, he arrived at the tenth hall, the Wheel-Turning King, who was in charge of life and death in the human world, and saved people through all kinds of good deeds. Wukong said, "Life and death are all fixed. You are changing it without permission, which is intolerable to heaven!" The Wheel-Turning King was terrified and wanted to escape. Wukong flashed and was already on his back, knocking him off the wheel-turning platform with a stick.
All ten Yama Kings were defeated, and the underworld was shaken. Wukong stood on the Naihe Bridge and declared loudly: "From now on, the underworld will be orderly and fair. If there is injustice, I will come again!" After that, he flew away, leaving behind the devastated underworld and the shocked ghosts and gods.
Since then, Wukong's name has spread throughout the three realms, and all living beings in the netherworld know his power. Wukong also got what he wanted, saved his brothers' souls, and returned to the world of the living. His heroic deeds have been passed down through the ages and become an immortal legend.
Wukong returned to the Water Curtain Cave in the Flower-Fruit Mountain, and the monkeys cheered and welcomed him back. Wukong sat on a stone chair, his face solemn, but he was thinking secretly in his heart.
“Although the underworld is at peace, the source of chaos in the three realms is still there. I need to go one step further to ensure peace in the world.” Wukong swore in his heart, determined to continue practicing and protect this world at a higher level.
So, Wukong practiced in seclusion day and night. His cultivation became more and more advanced, and his magical powers were vast, which was no longer comparable to the past. Auspicious clouds and auspicious air were swirling around the Flower and Fruit Mountain, attracting countless immortal birds and beasts to gather here.
A few years later, Wukong came out of retreat, full of energy and with a sharp gaze. He knew that the real challenge was still ahead. In the Three Realms, demons were rampant, and immortals and Buddhas were not completely pure. Only with absolute power can we deter evil and uphold justice.
Wukong held the golden cudgel in his hand and soared into the sky, heading straight for the ninth heaven. He wanted to make his voice heard and announce his existence to the high heaven. He wanted all the immortals and Buddhas to know that the Great Sage Equaling Heaven, Sun Wukong, was someone who should not be underestimated!
In the heaven, the Jade Emperor was shocked upon hearing the news and ordered all the immortals to fight. However, Wukong was so powerful that no one could stop him. He marched forward like a broken bamboo and headed straight for the Lingxiao Palace. Seeing this, the Jade Emperor had to come out in person to talk to Wukong.
"Evil Monkey Wukong, why do you keep breaking the Heavenly Rules? If you don't surrender today, I will make sure your soul flies to pieces!" the Jade Emperor shouted angrily.
Wukong sneered and said, "Old Jade Emperor, do you know the sufferings of the world? You immortals and Buddhas are so high up, have you ever cared about the sufferings of the people? I came here today not to surrender, but to seek justice!"
After saying this, Wukong swung his stick and struck, with golden light flashing, directly approaching the Jade Emperor. The immortals were horrified and came to help. However, in front of Wukong's earth-shattering magical power, everything was in vain.
When the two sides were fighting fiercely, a Buddhist chant was suddenly heard. The Tathagata Buddha appeared in the clouds, holding a golden lotus throne and smiling.
"Wukong, although you have supernatural powers, you cannot escape cause and effect. Put down your butcher knife and become a Buddha right away. Follow me to the west to obtain the scriptures and save all living beings." Tathagata Buddha said gently.
Wukong was stunned when he heard this, then he laughed and said, "Old Tathagata, don't try to fool me. Although I am a demon monkey, I know the difference between good and evil. I have my own plans for the journey to the West, so please leave!"
However, the Buddha did not back down. He waved his sleeves lightly, and the sky and earth suddenly changed color. The golden lotus throne turned into thousands of golden lights, surrounding Wukong. Wukong struggled hard but to no avail. In the end, he was taken away by the golden light and disappeared into the sky.
From then on, Wukong embarked on a journey to the west to obtain the scriptures. After going through 81 trials and tribulations, he finally obtained the scriptures and returned to save all living beings, becoming a legend. His heroic deeds of causing chaos in the netherworld and challenging the heavens also remained in people's memory forever and became an immortal legend.
Although Wukong was taken away by the Buddha, his unyielding spirit and pride never faded. On his journey to the West, he faced various trials and temptations, but every time, he used his wisdom and strength to overcome the dangers and protect the safety of his master and fellow apprentices.
During the journey to obtain the scriptures, Wukong gradually understood the profound meaning of the Buddha. He realized that true power lies not only in personal cultivation and supernatural powers, but also in compassion and understanding for all living beings. He began to learn to face all challenges with a more peaceful attitude, resolve grievances with wisdom, and influence all living beings with compassion.
As time went by, Wukong's cultivation and state of mind reached unprecedented heights. He was no longer the evil monkey who only knew how to solve problems with violence, but became a true wise man and the embodiment of compassion. His reputation also spread throughout the three realms, and he became a hero and idol in the hearts of countless creatures.
Finally one day, Wukong returned to the Tang Dynasty with his master and fellow apprentices. They handed over the scriptures to Emperor Taizong of Tang, Li Shimin, bringing endless wisdom and welfare to the world. Wukong also completed his mission and became one of the heroes of the journey to the West.
However, for Wukong, his spiritual practice is not over yet. He knows that there are still many creatures in this world who need his help and rescue. So he chooses to stay in the human world and continue to use his power to protect this land and the creatures on this land.
From then on, Wukong often appeared in various places on earth. He might be an ordinary monk, teaching Buddhism and wisdom, or a divine monkey, saving those in trouble. No matter what form he appeared in, he was always the Monkey King Sun Wukong, who was always full of justice and compassion.
The legends and stories about him have remained in people's hearts forever and become an immortal legend. Whenever night falls and the stars shine, people always look up at the sky and silently recite the name in their hearts - Sun Wukong.
