Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Chapter 109 Cat, Mouse and Dog

On the way back to Ravenclaw Tower, Anriel saw an unexpected person——

Someone who, under normal circumstances, should not be in Ravenclaw Tower.

It's Hermione.

But immediately, Anriel understood why Hermione came to Ravenclaw Tower:

"Anriel, Buckbeak lost the case."

Hermione's brows were tightly knitted, and there was not much sadness on her face. Instead, there was a sense of hostility and a lot of dissatisfaction.

"They came directly with the executioner to hear the appeal - no, perhaps it would be more appropriate to say the verdict."

Anriel nodded and asked her:

"So what do you think?"

Only then did Hermione show some compassion on her face.

She only hesitated and said:

"Well... although I'm reluctant, Buckbeak's execution... is almost a foregone conclusion... I think the more important thing now is to comfort Hagrid."

"Well said." Anriel praised her.

"Buckbeak will be executed at sunset... Why? Do you want me to go with you?"

This is indeed possible - now students cannot leave the school castle without being accompanied by a professor, and they were led by professors when they went to Hogsmeade before.

"I... um, yes... I think this incident may be a very big blow to Hagrid, he needs someone to comfort him..."

Hermione showed a trace of confusion on her face.

"But... maybe... this setback can make him give up a little bit of his... uh... interest in raising these huge and terrifying creatures?"

Indeed, hippogriffs are not dangerous to educated people, or to people who are polite to them.

But no matter what, this thing is huge and has a ferocious appearance...

And most of the things Hagrid likes, when described with these two words, are generally very appropriate.

It is true that Hermione is Hagrid's good friend, but she is also a normal human being with an average receptive ability.

If executing Buckbeak could make Hagrid a little more... "normal", Hermione really couldn't tell whether this was a good thing or a bad thing?

"Okay, I'll go."

Anriel nodded in agreement. This time the scene was a little bloody, and he didn't want to take Luna with him...

Dinner will be served soon. Tell Luna later.

But Anriel remembered that Dumbledore would also come to visit Hagrid, nominally to see Buckbeak off.

......

Hermione wasn't the only one going to Hagrid's hut.

After dinner, Anriel stood at the gate of the castle.

He sensed three souls running towards him in a line, but there was nothing in sight.

Considering the current abstract relationship between Ron and Hermione, Harry stood in the middle, and the two people on both sides seemed to not know each other.

"It looks like everyone is here, let's go."

In the eyes of others who didn't know the details, Anriel walked out of the castle alone and went towards Hagrid's hut.

None of the three children who followed behind felt that it was unreasonable that Anriel knew they were coming wearing invisibility cloaks.

Since he is Anriel, this is as it should be.

"Tuk-tuk-tuk-"

Anriel knocked on the door of Hagrid's hut.

The door opened.

Hagrid's eyes were red.

"Oh... Anriel, oh... come in... come in and sit..."

"Wait a minute, Hagrid, don't close the door yet."

Angel raised his hand to stop Hagrid so that Harry and the other two could enter the house.

Hermione was the first to lift the invisibility cloak, and the sudden appearance of three children scared Hagrid.

"You...ah, you shouldn't have come..."

Hagrid sounded self-blaming, as if he was troubled by the fact that he had not protected Buckbeak.

"No, it's not your fault, Hagrid."

Hermione said softly, shaking her head.

"You've done a great job."

Ron cursed Malfoy in a low voice, it was hard to hear but it sounded dirty.

Harry didn't know what to say - everyone had already said what needed to be said to comfort and what needed to be said to scold, so he simply picked up the teapot and poured tea for them.

Anriel walked quietly to a basket.

He opened the basket--

“Squeak, squeak, squeak—!”

Ron was stunned when he heard the familiar, sharp sound of a mouse.

It was not until Anriel grabbed the mouse's tail and lifted Peter, or rather Banban, up from the ground that he exclaimed:

"Ban-Ban!"

He rushed to Anriel, took the mouse and held it in his palm.

Then the mouse ran away...

Are you kidding? Anyone would run away.

Ron never tired of catching mice, and then looked left and right, fearing that his precious mouse would be hurt.

Anriel curled his lips.

The closer you are to him now, the more disgusted you will feel later.

However, there were four people and a beast in the room except himself, and no one except Hermione and the beast could understand this sentence, so Anriel did not say it.

Anriel stared at the mouse for a while without saying anything.

He was more concerned about how Pettigrew suddenly appeared in the school and then disappeared suddenly...

When Anriel recalled his thoughts at that time, he really regretted why he didn't point his wand at the rat and ask directly...

Perhaps there was a mysterious force from the East that stopped him.

Anyway, when Anriel and the trio left, everything went on as usual, except that there was no plot of Ron and Hermione getting back together. Everything was normal.

When Dumbledore accompanied McNeill and Fudge to Hagrid's hut, the four of them had just reached the halfway point of the mountain. Anriel turned back and looked out into the distance -

From this angle, you can clearly see the scene of the eagle's head falling to the ground with blood spurting out.

He was dead, there was no possibility of rescue.

......

“Squeak, squeak, squeak—!!”

Suddenly, the mouse in Ron's pocket started screaming wildly.

The cry was heart-wrenching, yet had a kind of desperate beauty.

"Ouch!"

Ron cried out in pain, and it sounded like Wormtail had bitten his hand.

"Ban-Ban!"

A black shadow rushed out, and the invisibility cloak was lifted off. Ron covered his bleeding hand with a painful look on his face and looked in the direction where Pettigrew had escaped.

Then, the next second, an animal rushed out from the hedge next to it.

But this time...

Not Crookshanks.
