Chapter 156 Stop! Who are you?
Knox's face was grim. He tried his best to resist, but Lin Nan's attack was too fierce. In the end, his body gradually disintegrated in the blue light, and the lake returned to calm.
Lin Nan panted heavily, feeling that his energy was almost exhausted. He knew that although this battle was hard won, it did not completely solve the problem. He had to move forward to protect the stability of the timeline.
Back at Kamar-Taj, Lin Nan got a short break. He knew that every battle would make him stronger, but it would also bring more challenges. Dr. Strange praised his performance and reminded him that the road ahead was still full of dangers.
"Lin Nan, you have proven your strength, but we cannot take it lightly." Strange said solemnly, "There are still many unknown threats waiting for us."
Lin Nan nodded, he felt the responsibility on his shoulders. He knew that he had to stay vigilant at all times to cope with future challenges.
In the following time, Lin Nan, Dr. Strange and other wizards continued to study the timeline repair work. They found that there were some particularly critical nodes that needed special attention, because these nodes connected multiple timelines, and once damaged, it would bring great chaos.
"These nodes are the key to the entire time network." Strange pointed to several marks on the star map, "We must ensure their safety."
Lin Nan nodded: "I understand, I will protect these nodes myself."
Strange looked at him with a smile: "I believe you can do it."
Lin Nan took a deep breath, clenched the ring, and was determined to move forward. He knew that this would be a long and difficult battle, but he was ready.
The second node was located in a desolate desert. Lin Nan crossed endless sand dunes and came to an ancient ruin. The stone walls of the ruins were engraved with mysterious runes, as if telling ancient legends.
Lin Nan felt uneasy, he knew that there was some powerful force hidden in this relic. He walked into the relic carefully, feeling the chill and gloom in the air.
"Lin Nan, you're finally here." A hoarse and low voice came from the depths of the ruins.
Lin Nan looked in the direction of the sound vigilantly and found an old man in a gray robe standing in front of a stone platform, holding a staff in both hands, with deep wisdom in his eyes.
"Who are you?" Lin Nan asked, his body instinctively entering a combat state.
"I am one of the guardians of time, Zel." The gray-robed old man said lightly, his voice full of vicissitudes and indifference.
"Why do you want to destroy the balance of time?" Lin Nan asked, his heart filled with anger and determination.
"Balance? That's just your wishful thinking." Zel sneered, "The true power of time is far beyond your imagination."
"I won't let you succeed!" Lin Nan said firmly. He felt the ring in his body responding to his determination, flashing a dazzling blue light.
"Then let me see your strength." Zel raised his staff, and the runes on the stone platform suddenly emitted a strong light, and a powerful energy wave surged in the ruins.
Lin Nan quickly raised the ring, and a blue energy shield formed around him, blocking the incoming energy waves. He felt the pressure on the shield increasing, but he gritted his teeth and held on.
"You simply cannot understand the true power of time." Zel said coldly, his figure suddenly disappeared on the stone platform, and the next second, he appeared behind Lin Nan, with a strong energy wave heading straight for Lin Nan.
Lin Nan quickly dodged sideways and struck back, sending a blue energy wave straight toward Zel. Zel was agile and dodged easily while counterattacking. He put his hands together, muttering something, and waves of energy gushed out from his fingertips, heading straight for Lin Nan.
The two men fought fiercely in the ruins, and energy fluctuations continued to explode in the air, causing ripples. Lin Nan gradually felt his physical strength being consumed, but he knew he could not retreat.
"You are strong, but this is far from enough." Zel's voice came from all directions, as if mocking Lin Nan's weakness.
Lin Nan gritted his teeth, concentrated all his strength, and raised the energy of the ring to the extreme. A strong blue light gushed out from the ring, illuminating the entire ruins. Zel was repelled by this powerful force, and his face changed slightly.
"This is the real power." Lin Nan roared and rushed towards Zel, the blue light piercing towards him like a sharp sword.
Zel was hit by this force, his body began to tremble, and a trace of pain appeared on his face: "You...actually..."
Lin Nan did not give him a chance and continued to increase his strength. The blue light became stronger and stronger, and finally completely engulfed Zel.
Lin Nan stood in the courtyard of Kamar-Taj, her heart full of mixed emotions. Her determination to travel back here was clear: to single-handedly reverse those unreasonable timelines and make them develop according to her wishes. This process was destined to be difficult, but her belief was unwavering.
As night fell, Kamar-Taj looked particularly mysterious under the starlight. Lin Nan decided not to wait any longer and to act. She quietly walked along those familiar paths, trying not to attract attention. Suddenly, she felt a cold wind blowing, accompanied by a stern rebuke.
"Stop! Who are you?"
Lin Nan turned around and faced a group of Kamar-Taj soldiers who had obviously noticed her presence. The leading soldier held a spear and had a sharp eye like an eagle.
"I'm Lin Nan, I mean no harm." She tried to explain, but the other party obviously didn't intend to listen.
"We will determine your intentions ourselves," the captain of the soldiers said coldly, and then waved his hand for the others to surround her.
Lin Nan knew that negotiation was futile and that only fighting could get her out. She reacted quickly, and the ring in her hand shone with a blue light, sending an energy wave that pushed the approaching soldiers back a few steps.
"She uses magic! Be careful!" the captain shouted, and the soldiers immediately adjusted their formation, with their spears pointed at Lin Nan.
Lin Nan concentrated her energy and raised her left hand slightly. A blue energy shield formed in front of her, blocking the oncoming spear. At the same time, her right hand quickly drew a graceful arc, and an energy blade shot out from her fingertips, hitting a soldier's shield and knocking him back several meters.
"Surround her! Don't let her escape!" the captain ordered, and the soldiers quickly dispersed and tried to approach from all directions.
A glimmer of calmness flashed across Lin Nan's eyes. She knew she had to fight quickly. She suddenly jumped to the left and avoided a wave of attacks.
