Naruto: My Eye Technique is Infinite
Chapter 127 Warmth before the War
Tianshui and Mito stood at the edge of the Tokiwa Forest. The setting sun stretched their shadows very long. Tianshui's eyes became serious, and his usual cynical look was gone. He looked directly at Mito and said in a deep voice: "Mito, I promise you."
Mito was slightly moved when she heard this, but before she could react, Tianshui's tone suddenly changed and returned to that relaxed and teasing tone: "However, since I have done such a great contribution in destroying Team Rocket, don't you have to give me some reward?"
Mito looked up at Tianshui, with a helpless look in her eyes. This guy always talks nonsense at the most tense moment. She thought to herself: This bad guy only knows how to take advantage of the situation. If I don't give him a little sweet taste, what if he doesn't work hard?
"You want a reward?" Mito raised the corner of his mouth slightly, revealing a sly smile, "Then how about letting you eat my special secret meal for a whole month?"
Tianshui was stunned for a moment, as if he had not expected Mito to agree so readily. He opened his mouth, wanting to say something but was speechless for a moment. He secretly complained in his heart: I tried my best to help you, but in the end you actually want to "repay" me like this? Is this considered shooting yourself in the foot?
Tianshui quickly put on a righteous look, as if what he just said was just a joke: "Mito, what I just said was just a joke. Helping those poor Pokémon is my unshirkable responsibility as a trainer. How can I ask for any reward?"
Mito was touched and amused when she saw his righteous face. This guy, he said nice things, but who knows what he was thinking? However, she still said seriously: "No, the reward should be given. It must be very hard for you to destroy Team Rocket, I can't let you work in vain."
Seeing her persistence, Tianshui sighed inwardly: I have overacted and have done more harm than good. He quickly continued to pretend, "Mito, I have already said that this is my unshirkable responsibility. How can I accept such a reward? Isn't this something I feel ashamed of?"
Mito looked at Tianshui's serious expression, and a bit of disappointment appeared in her eyes. She originally thought that she could do something for Tianshui in this way, but now it seems that the chance is slim.
Seeing Mito's depressed look, Tianshui's heart softened immediately, thinking: Forget it, just coax her. So he slowly said: "How about this, Mito, you keep this reward for now. Take it out when there is a suitable opportunity in the future."
Mito's eyes lit up when he heard that: "Really? That's great!"
Tianshui looked at her happy expression and thought to himself: This so-called 'right opportunity' may never come again in this lifetime.
Tianshui smiled and looked at Beedrill and Pidgeot beside him: "Beedrill, Pidgeot, we are home now, do you want to go back and visit first? I will give you a day off, just come back before dinner."
Beedrill and Pidgeot looked at Tianshui, feeling extremely excited. They recalled the past days and were filled with gratitude. So, they chirped happily, said hello to Tianshui, and flew hurriedly to their familiar home.
Mito saw the two Pokémon flying away and asked in confusion: "Tianshui, why did Beedrill and Pidgeot suddenly fly away? What happened?"
Tianshui smiled and explained, "I captured Beedrill and Pidgeot in Viridian Forest. Now that they are passing by here, I will let them go home to have a look."
After listening to this, Mito nodded thoughtfully: "Well... In this case, my Charizard should also go home to take a look. Charizard, we are back to the Viridian Forest again, do you want to go home to take a look?"
When Charizard heard Mito's suggestion, a glimmer of excitement flashed in its eyes. It looked up into the distance, as if recalling something, then cried happily and spread its wings to fly into the depths of the forest.
Tianshui stood there, quietly watching the figure of the fire-breathing dragon go away, with the corners of his mouth slightly raised, revealing a gentle smile. His eyes were shining with satisfaction and happiness, as if at this moment, all the troubles were thrown into the sky.
"It would be wonderful if time could stay at this beautiful moment forever." Mito's voice came softly, like a whisper in the wind, with a hint of sadness. Her eyes followed the departure of Charizard, revealing her nostalgia for the good times.
Tianshui heard Mito's words and slowly turned his head to meet her eyes. His eyes revealed a firm tenderness, as if he was going to tell her something important. "There will be such a day," he whispered, his voice low and firm, as if he was making a vow that could not be broken.
A small smile broke out on Mito's face, she knew that Amami was just trying to comfort her but she still felt a warm feeling inside.
She turned her head and continued to watch the setting sun gradually sinking into the horizon. The orange-red afterglow dyed the entire sky into a brilliant color, like a beautiful painting.
Tianshui felt the tranquility in the air, but he also knew that this tranquility was just a brief calm before the storm. He stood up gently, patted Mito beside him, and said gently but firmly: "We should cook."
Mito came back to her senses and followed Tianshui to the kitchen. She looked at Tianshui's busy figure and felt a little excited. She quietly walked forward, picked up the Garuda knife, and wanted to help prepare the ingredients.
Tianshui saw this, and a hint of helplessness and doting flashed in his eyes. He gently held Mito's hand and tenderly took the Garuda knife from her hand. "You should wait outside, I'll cook." His words were gentle but unyielding, with a reassuring firmness.
Mito pouted in dissatisfaction, but she also knew what Tianshui meant. She sighed softly, turned around and walked out of the kitchen, leaving Tianshui alone to work.
Tianshui closed the kitchen door and breathed a sigh of relief. He hummed a little tune and began to prepare dinner skillfully. Outside the window, the forest was gradually shrouded in night, but Tianshui's mind was still focused on the ingredients in front of him.
Soon after, the elves who were released to visit their relatives returned one after another. Pidgeot, Charizard, and Beedrill flew back one after another, covered in dust. Tianshui gently stroked their heads and said in a gentle voice, "You've worked hard. Eat something first."
He distributed the carefully prepared energy cubes to them and carefully reminded Charizard: "Remember to save the ones for Blastoise and Bulbasaur."
Soon after, Tianshui came out of the kitchen with plates of delicious food and invited Mito to the table. The two sat at the table, enjoying the quiet moment. Although there were occasional short silences, they understood each other tacitly and had a perfect understanding.
This quiet night seems to be the last calm before the storm.
However, somewhere outside the Viridian Forest, the tense atmosphere was like a taut string. Sakaki sat in his dark office, his fingers gently stroking the cat boss in his arms, his eyes cold.
"Boss, the plan has failed..." Sakaki's secretary Manori stood in front of him, his voice low and respectful.
"That boy named Tianshui not only possesses a powerful spirit, but his personal combat power is also first-rate. Amado and Kozaburo were powerless in front of him and were subdued by him almost instantly."
Sakaki's hand paused slightly, stroking the cat for a moment. His eyes still did not move away from the cat boss, but his voice was low and full of unquestionable majesty: "Is this all the information you have?"
Mana trembled slightly, feeling the invisible pressure from Sakaki. She suppressed her inner tension and said anxiously, "Yes, boss. But we will continue to investigate and will definitely dig out more information."
Sakaki raised his head slightly, finally taking his eyes off the cat boss, and said lightly: "No need to investigate further. Now, gather people immediately and let them hide in Tokiwa City. I have a feeling that the peace there will be broken soon."
Mana nodded and turned to leave. In her heart, she was secretly guessing Sakaki's intentions, and a trace of disdain flashed between her eyebrows. She didn't think Tianshui had the ability to challenge the power of Team Rocket, but she also knew that her duty was to obey rather than question.
Sakaki's thoughts had already drifted far away. He knew that the storm in Viridian City was about to break out, and the real battle had just begun.
