Douluo Continent: Dragon Shadow Rebirth

Chapter 364 The Secret of the Ancient Ruins

Under the guidance of the forest guardian, Qin Feng and his companions stepped into an ancient site hidden deep in the forest. This site has a history of thousands of years, and legend has it that it contains the ultimate secrets of soul power and nature. As they go deeper into it, one mystery after another gradually surfaces.

The moment they stepped into the gate of the ruins, Qin Feng and his companions immediately felt a strange energy flowing in the air. The architectural style inside the ruins was completely different from any building they had seen in the academy before. The stone walls were engraved with mysterious runes, as if telling a long-forgotten history.

"These runes seem to be somewhat similar to the ones we saw in the academy's library." Ye Li carefully observed the symbols on the wall, frowning slightly, "But these runes are more complicated."

"Yes, they look more like some kind of ancient magic circle." Wang Yue said softly.

"Everyone be careful, everything here may be hidden with mechanisms and traps." Qin Feng reminded, "We'd better be careful."

They walked along a long corridor, with many broken murals on the walls on both sides. The characters in the paintings seemed to be performing some kind of ancient ritual, with solemn and mysterious expressions on their faces. Qin Feng carefully observed these murals and found that they seemed to be telling a story, but the pictures were blurred.

"These paintings should record the history of this site," Zhang Meng speculated, "but it's a pity that it's been so long that many parts can't be seen clearly."

"Maybe we can find more clues ahead." Chu Tian said.

They continued walking forward and soon came to a spacious hall. In the center of the hall stood a huge statue of an ancient wizard wearing a crown and holding a huge staff in his hand, as if casting some powerful magic.

"Who is this wizard? He looks like the owner of this place." Wang Yue asked curiously.

"I guess this may be the site of an ancient soul master kingdom." Ye Li guessed, "This wizard may have been the king at that time."

"No matter what, there must be something important hidden here." Qin Feng said firmly, "Everyone, look for it separately to see if there are any clues."

Around the statue, they found several stone platforms, each with a different rune on it. The runes glowed faintly, as if waiting to be activated.

"These stone platforms look like some kind of mechanism." Ye Li walked forward and studied the runes carefully. "Perhaps we need to activate them in a specific order."

"You mean these runes are the key to open the next door?" Zhang Meng asked.

"It's possible." Ye Li nodded, "But we have to be careful. If the order is wrong, it may trigger the trap."

"Then how do we know the correct order?" Chu Tian frowned, "These runes seem to have nothing to do with each other."

Qin Feng thought about it, walked to the statue, and carefully observed the statue's posture and the staff in its hand. Suddenly, he noticed that there were several small symbols on the top of the staff, which were the same as the runes on the stone platform.

"I think I know what to do." Qin Feng said, "Look here, the symbol on the top of the staff is the same as the rune on the stone platform. Maybe this is a reminder of the order of activation."

"Great, Qin Feng!" Ye Li said excitedly, "Then let's try it according to the order on the staff."

According to Qin Feng's speculation, they pressed the runes on the stone platform one by one. As the last rune was pressed, the statue in the center of the hall suddenly began to move slowly, and its staff pointed to the other end of the hall.

"Look! A door appears there!" Wang Yue exclaimed.

Sure enough, in the direction the statue pointed, a hidden stone door appeared on the wall, with the same ancient runes carved on it.

"It seems we succeeded." Qin Feng said with a smile, "Let's go in and take a look."

After entering the stone door, they found themselves in a new hall. This hall was smaller than the previous one, but more magnificent. The walls were inlaid with various gems and gold foils, and the ground was covered with soft red carpets.

"This place looks like some kind of treasure house." Zhang Meng exclaimed, "I wonder what kind of treasures are here."

"Don't forget, we are not here to look for treasure." Ye Li reminded, "We are looking for the secrets of soul power and nature."

"Yes, everything here may be a test." Qin Feng nodded, "Everyone be careful and don't touch anything."

They walked along the red carpet in the center of the hall to the end and found a stone platform with a heavy book on it. The cover of the book shone with golden light and was engraved with an ancient family emblem.

"What is this?" Chu Tian asked curiously.

"It looks like an ancient magic book." Wang Yue guessed, "It may record some important knowledge."

Qin Feng walked forward cautiously and reached for the book. However, when his fingers just touched the book, the whole hall suddenly began to shake violently, and the gems on the wall emitted a dazzling light.

"Back off!" Ye Li shouted.

Everyone quickly retreated, only to see the ground around the stone platform suddenly crack open, and a burst of black smoke gushed out. In the smoke, a huge monster gradually emerged. It had the body of a cow, the wings of an eagle, the tail of a snake, and was covered with black scales. It looked extremely ferocious.

"Oh no! We triggered something!" Chu Tian said nervously.

"This must be the monster guarding this place." Qin Feng drew out the Dragon Shadow Sword, "Everyone be careful, we have to deal with it!"

The monster let out a deafening roar and rushed towards them. Qin Feng faced it head-on, wielding the Dragon Shadow Sword, trying to force the monster back. However, the monster's strength was unexpectedly strong, and its tail swung violently, hitting Qin Feng's sword and knocking him back several steps.

"This guy is so strong!" Qin Feng said gritting his teeth.

"We can't fight head-on!" Ye Li shouted. She used her magic wand to release a frost magic, trying to freeze the monster's movements.

Frost surrounded the monster's feet, but it shook it slightly and easily shattered the frost. Then, it spread its wings, flew into the air, and dived towards Ye Li.

"Get out of the way!" Zhang Meng pulled Ye Li away. The monster's sharp claws slid along the ground and almost scratched them.

"We have to find its weakness!" Wang Yue shouted. She summoned the Light Deer and used the halo to provide protection for everyone.

Qin Feng calmly observed the monster's movements and found that its eyes seemed to be particularly sensitive to light. Whenever the halo of the Light Deer approached, its movements would become slightly slower.

"I think its eyes are its weak point!" Qin Feng said loudly, "Ye Li, aim your beam at its eyes!"

Ye Li nodded, concentrated her soul power, and released a strong beam of light, which shot directly into the monster's eyes. The monster screamed in pain from the sudden strong light, and its movements slowed down significantly.

"Now!" Qin Feng took the opportunity to rush forward and slashed at the monster's wings with the Dragon Shadow Sword. The blade flashed with the power of lightning and hit the monster hard.

The monster roared in pain and began to shake. Zhang Meng and Chu Tian were not to be outdone and attacked from both sides. Chu Tian used fire magic to burn its body, while Zhang Meng trapped its tail with a stone wall.

Under their combined attack, the monster finally let out its last wail, fell to the ground, and dissipated in a cloud of black smoke.

"We succeeded!" Wang Yue said excitedly.

"Great!" Ye Li breathed a sigh of relief, "But everything here is too dangerous."

After the monster disappeared, the hall returned to peace, and the books on the stone platform were still shining with golden light.

"I think this book is what we are looking for." Qin Feng walked forward again and picked up the book carefully this time.

When he opened the book, he found that it contained the advanced techniques of "Soul Resonance" and detailed methods on how to combine with the power of nature to enhance soul power.

"This is... the ultimate secret about soul power and nature." Qin Feng's eyes flashed with excitement, "This book can let us learn more."

"That's great! Our trip was not in vain." Ye Li also said excitedly.

"But we must use the knowledge here with caution." Wang Yue warned, "This power may be powerful, but it is also dangerous."

"Yes, we will be careful." Qin Feng nodded in agreement.

They carefully put away the books and prepared to leave this ancient site. However, at the moment they turned to leave, the light appeared again on the walls of the entire hall.

"Why is there another change?" Chu Tian asked nervously.

"Maybe the book triggered other mechanisms." Zhang Meng guessed.

Suddenly, the wall behind the stone platform slowly opened, revealing a staircase leading underground.

"It seems that there are more secrets waiting for us to discover here." Qin Feng said.

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's continue exploring!" Chu Tian said excitedly.

"Yes, now that we are here, let's find out all the secrets here!" Ye Li was also full of curiosity.

"Okay, everyone be careful and let's move on." Qin Feng said.

They walked down the stairs, where they were greeted by deeper secrets and greater challenges.

Deep in the ancient ruins, new adventures and challenges are waiting for Qin Feng and his companions.
