Douluo Continent: Dragon Shadow Rebirth

Chapter 477 The Disappearing Mayor and the Mysterious Postman

On a sunny morning, the clock tower in the city center struck eight, marking the beginning of a new day. However, the citizens were awakened by a confusing news - the mayor was missing! The whole town fell into panic and confusion, especially for the town's reporters, this was undoubtedly a great opportunity to make headlines.

"The mayor is missing? Now we have to get busy." In the newsroom, Maria seemed excited and nervous. "We must find the mayor as soon as possible to make the headlines!"

"Okay, I'll go investigate." Reporter Jack suddenly perked up, "I have a hunch that this missing case isn't that simple."

Jack walked out of the newsroom and came to the mayor's office. He found the office in a mess, with documents scattered all over the floor and chairs dragged aside, as if there had been a small chaos.

"What's going on?" Jack said to himself, "Something must have happened to the mayor here."

He carefully looked around every corner of the office and found a strange letter. There was no address on the envelope, only a mysterious symbol.

"Is this a letter from the mayor?" Jack picked up the envelope in confusion and tore it open impatiently. The contents inside surprised him.

"Dear citizens, I have been forced to leave for a while because I am looking for something very important. Please don't worry, I will give you a satisfactory explanation when I return."

After reading the letter, Jack became even more confused. The letter did not seem to provide any practical clues, but made things even more confusing. He decided to go to Tom, the mayor's assistant, to see if he could get more information from him.

Tom was busy in the office, his desk was piled with various documents and notes.

"Tom, do you know what happened to the mayor recently?" Jack asked anxiously, "Why did he suddenly disappear?"

Tom looked up, his face pale. "I don't know either. The mayor suddenly told me last night that he had an urgent task to deal with and asked me not to disturb him. He said he would be back soon, but now I can't even get through to him on the phone."

"How strange." Jack thought, "Did the mayor leave any unusual clues before he left?"

Tom nodded. "Yes. He left me some strange stamps and letters before he left. I don't know if this has anything to do with his disappearance."

"Stamps and letters?" Jack's interest was piqued. "Let me see!"

Tom handed the letters and stamps to Jack, who found that the patterns on the stamps were very ancient postal symbols, and the postmarks on the letters were also very special.

"These stamps and letters look like some kind of ancient postal method," Jack said to himself, "Maybe the mayor is looking for some important clue."

He decided to investigate the source of these stamps and letters. He came to an old post office and found the owner of the post office, Old Brown.

"Old Brown, have you seen these stamps and letters?" Jack showed the stamps and letters to Old Brown.

Old Brown studied the stamps and letters carefully, his face becoming serious. "These stamps are antique stamps from a long time ago, and the postmarks on them come from a very mysterious place."

"Mysterious place?" Jack asked. "What is it?"

"This is a place called 'Misty Town'." Old Brown explained, "This town disappeared long ago. It is said that there are some very precious treasures and secrets hidden there."

"Misty Town? That sounds interesting." Jack thought, "Maybe the mayor is going there to look for clues."

"It's very likely." Old Brown nodded, "However, the entrance to Misty Town has always been blocked by fog, so it is very difficult to find."

Jack decided to go to Misty Town to find the whereabouts of the mayor. He bought some necessary equipment, took a map, and started his journey.

After several days of hard work, Jack finally arrived at the entrance of Misty Town. The fog was thick and everything around was hazy. Jack took out the map, carefully followed the instructions, and slowly passed through the fog.

When he finally walked out of the fog, he was stunned by the scene in front of him. Although the fog town had become dilapidated, its former glory could still be vaguely seen. There were ancient buildings, deserted streets, and even a few ghostly animals wandering around.

"This place really looks like it's been abandoned for a long time." Jack said to himself, "What will the mayor find here?"

He began to search around the foggy town and finally found a clue in an old post station. The walls of the post station were covered with various old postal tools and letters, and even an old postman's uniform.

"What's going on?" Jack was confused. "Why is the mayor here?"

Just then, Jack heard a deep voice. He turned around and found a ghost in an old postman's uniform standing not far away, smiling at him.

"Who are you?" Jack asked in surprise.

The ghost postman spoke slowly, "I am the guardian of this town, responsible for delivering all undelivered letters to their final destinations. The mayor is here to find an important letter."

"Important letter?" Jack asked doubtfully, "Where is that letter?"

The ghost postman pointed to a hidden corner and said, "The letter is hidden here. It is the key to what the mayor is looking for."

Under the guidance of the ghost postman, Jack found the important letter. On the letter was a very important farewell letter, which mentioned that the mayor had discovered a huge secret and needed to leave to solve it.

"It seems that the mayor really has his secret mission." Jack said to himself, "But why didn't he tell everyone?"

At this moment, the ghost postman's voice became more serious, "The mayor's mission is very important, he must protect this secret from the outside world. Now, you can take the letter back and let the mayor know that we are waiting for him here."

Jack left Misty Town with the letter and handed it to Tom, the mayor's assistant. After reading the letter, Tom looked much more relaxed.

"Thank you, Jack," Tom said gratefully. "The mayor's mission is indeed important, and he needs to protect some sensitive information."

"No problem, I'm glad I could help." Jack said with a smile, "This adventure is really full of surprises."

The mayor finally returns to town, explains his disappearance to the citizens, and thanks Jack and the others for their help.

"We had a wonderful adventure," the mayor said with emotion. "Although it worried everyone at one point, we finally protected an important secret."

The residents of the town breathed a sigh of relief and resumed their peaceful lives, while Jack, with the experience of this adventure, continued his journalism work and strived for more stories.

On this sunny morning, everything in the town seems to be back on track. However, Jack knows that there are still many unsolved mysteries in the world waiting for him to explore.
