People's screams could be heard from afar, and a dark army walked out of the flames, like demons from hell, destroying everything they saw.

The notorious soldiers of the Kru Kingdom, under the will of a group of nobles who are desperate for profit, are bloodthirsty and crazy. They are jackals and evil spirits, but not human beings.

The head of the acrobatic troupe's calves were shaking uncontrollably. His face had long lost all color, and his eyes were filled with panic. He staggered into the tent and said with trembling teeth, "The Kru Kingdom... The Kru Kingdom is attacking!"

His words made most people panic. The lipstick in the dancer's hand fell onto the table. She stood up in a panic, but didn't know where to escape for a moment, and screamed in fear.

The members of the acrobatic troupe stopped drinking and eating, some picked up weapons, while others stood there at a loss as to what to do.

The trainer turned and ran out of the side of the tent. He had to release his companion. That was more important than his own life.

The magician stopped writing and looked up at the head of the circus, then turned to look at Rodsim, who looked pale but forced to remain calm, with something in his eyes.

Totumjika huddled in her father's arms, her fair little hands trembling uncontrollably, tears falling in big drops. The Kingdom of Kru was such a horrible name, their power was known to the world, and so was their cruelty.

The old captain stood up and walked outside the tent. He looked around and saw the smoke rising. He could hear screams coming from all directions. The trainer in the tent released the beasts. He rode on his horse and shouted to the old captain, "Old Jack, this city has been surrounded. The demons are holding a killing contest, and we are the prey.

We need to open a gap in their encirclement, otherwise we will just be strangled by them."

"I understand!" Old Jack turned and walked into the tent. He looked at the head of the circus and said, "Take all the capable people and follow Ma En to break through. This is your only chance to survive."

"Then what are you going to do?" Old Jack's words stunned the head of the circus.

"I'm too old to run!" Old Jack's eyes were calm. He walked forward and kicked the clown who was curled up in the corner of the table. "Bral, if you plan to be an ostrich here forever, then so be it. I heard that those guys really like the sight of a funny guy like you standing on a red-hot iron plate and jumping around."

"I'm not an ostrich!" Blair, who had not yet removed his makeup, looked up and said viciously, but the timidity in his eyes undoubtedly betrayed him.

"Then use your dagger and tell them that we are not lambs to be slaughtered!" As a wandering performer, Old Jack has never been a docile lamb.

Why did those guys who didn't get up early for no profit come to Lesilis? Old Jack didn't care. He walked to the front of the magician with his hands behind his back, and looked back at Totumjika who was curled up in the pianist's arms. "Let's go, these two kids can't follow you!"

The magician looked at Old Jack seriously, the cards in his hand flipped out and disappeared in an instant, and finally he nodded silently.

The pianist heard what old Jack said, looked down at Totemjika who was curled up in his arms, and gently brushed his back with his slender fingers. "Totemjika, do you believe in your father and Grandpa Jack?"

Totemjika looked up blankly. He didn't understand what his father meant, but he still nodded.

"Okay, then follow grandpa and hide for a while and wait for father to pick you up." The pianist smiled. He put all his confidence in this moment. After all, the opponent this time was not those bandits who robbed along the way, but a real legion.

……

As the sun sets, the red clouds in the sky are dyed red, like blood that has dyed the earth red.

A group of soldiers, with their feet stained with mud and blood, carrying long swords dripping with blood, swaggered into the temporary base of the circus. Then they were greeted by a few matches dropped to the ground by the fingertips of a kind-looking old man.

The smell of burning gunpowder made them feel uneasy, but the next moment a blinding light flashed and a horrible explosion sounded in their ears. Before they could feel the burning of the gunpowder, they were shattered into pieces.

Rodsim curled up in the dark underground holding Totumjika, next to him were the food prepared for them by Old Jack and a clock that recorded the time.

“These guys won’t leave anyone alive. They will leave after they have looted everything in this town. You have to hide here for at least five days. Of course, it can be longer, and it’s better to hide longer.

Protect Totumjica, and protect yourself."

"Will Father come back for us?"

"If they live, yes!"

As I recalled the old leader's words, tears blurred my eyes uncontrollably.

The night was a carnival for the devils. The head of the acrobatic troupe who had been beheaded was sent to the grill by them. His muscular body was pierced by iron rods, like a grilled bullfrog.

The dancer was dragged into a dirty toilet where there were many women and handsome men who had suffered the same fate as her. A group of guys who had loosened their belts had already lined up in a long queue.

The clown's ending was predicted by the old leader. He was tied up like a puppet by the monsters and danced on the red iron plate.

The pianist had his calves tied and was dragged through the town to race horses. When the horse race stopped, his skin and flesh had been separated, leaving him a blurry mass of flesh and blood.

The magician was tied to a cross, and the iron chains, like thorns, cut into his flesh and blood. He was exposed to the scorching sun for three days until his blood dried up.

……

Eight days later, Rodsim carefully returned to the ground from underground in the ruins. After making sure there was no danger, he brought Totumjika up.

They walked aimlessly in the ruins. They saw the head of the director of the acrobatic troupe, the dancers with their limbs cut off, the clowns whose faces were disfigured, the magician whose blood had been drained, the pianist's tattered clothes, and they saw hell on earth.

Totumjika was howling in the dark land. Rodsim stood behind him with a cold face. He hugged the boy from the back and said in a gentle tone: "Don't be afraid, your brother is still here. I will take care of you in the future!"

However, just when they thought that there were no survivors in the city, a sloppy figure suddenly broke into their sight, causing Rodsim to instinctively grasp the dagger at his waist.

He was a short, old man with messy hair that was neither short nor long, and he smelled of alcohol from a long distance away.

"Hey, there are still people alive!" The old man said drunkenly, and took a sip of wine. "Hiss, the wine in Kalan Tavern is still so strong. It's a pity that I can't drink the wine brewed by that guy anymore."

Rodsim saw that the other person was a drunkard, and there was some surprise in his eyes. He couldn't understand how such a guy survived.

"What? Are you wondering how I survived, kid?" The old drunkard seemed to know what Rodsim was thinking, and said while shaking his body, "Nothing, I just avoided everyone."

Suddenly, the old drunkard's expression changed, becoming inexplicably serious and solemn, "Want revenge, kid?"

The sudden change of topic made Rodsim and Totumjika completely unable to react. The old drunkard turned around, raised his head, took another sip of wine, and staggered away. "If you want revenge, follow me. I will teach you, as long as you can afford the wine!"

What Rodsim and Totumjika couldn't see was the rage burning in the old man's eyes. "I can't stop them, but I can eat your food, drink your wine, and avenge you. You little brat with the domineering color? You have a strong will!"

The old drunkard muttered to himself. Rodsim looked at his receding back and was about to turn around and leave, but for some reason his legs uncontrollably walked towards the old drunkard.

"I want revenge!"
