Chapter 170: Strange Maze

After issuing a call to a distant place, the dark color of the magic stone turned into pure black.

Wright reacted, took protective measures, picked up the magic stone on the ground and began to test it.

After checking, he found that the Philosopher's Stone had sealed itself off and could not be broken through by conventional means.

Just when Wright made up his mind and was ready to use some unconventional means to forcibly open the Philosopher's Stone.

Suddenly, a strange scene appeared in his mind along the channel through which he had just used magic to strengthen his body.

In a trance, Wright saw that in the dark night, there appeared a huge maze consisting of several meters high and countless green bushes.

A figure dressed in gorgeous clothes stood at the entrance of the maze, waving continuously.

It seemed to be inviting Wright, and also seemed to be tracking his position and approaching him.

And Wright's spirit seemed to be attracted, floating in the air and ready to obey the call.

At this moment, an inexplicable sense of crisis emerged, waking him up from his confusion.

When Wright reacted, countless black mists surged out from his body, wrapping up his entire body and isolating him from the outside world.

At the same time, he used the brain-blocking technique to block the real and illusory scene in his mind.

As Wright took action, the maze that appeared out of nowhere lost its influence.

But that place seemed to have some kind of connection with Wright. He could feel that thing approaching him or attracting him.

Putting aside the doubts in his mind, Wright dealt with the matters at hand first.

The Philosopher's Stone, which now only had negative emotions and was completely useless, was sealed in an alchemical box.

Then he picked up the various alchemical items in the House of Requirement that were knocked down by the torrent of magic power.

……

After cleaning up, Wright retrieved the information on the stone tablet that he had not had time to check because he was trying to extract magic power:

"Baptized by powerful magic, magic power: 8."

After reading the information and feeling the active magic power in his body, Light curled his lips and thought to himself, "I have to adjust the wand again."

Walk out of the Room of Requests to transform it into a library.

Sitting at the table, Wright took out a notebook and began to deduce the scene that had just appeared in his mind.

He could clearly realize that the picture in his mind was definitely not false, it was real and was directed at him.

Then, Wright began to write and draw in his notebook while thinking, and began to verify his guess.

The Philosopher's Stone can send messages to that place, allowing me to connect with it, which means that there is a close relationship between the Philosopher's Stone and the maze.

Add to that the gorgeously dressed figure and the manor-like plant maze.

Wright wrote down his guess in his notebook: "Pure-blood family!!!"

Looking at the highlighted information in the notebook, Wright speculated: "The teacher said that the witch hunt was promoted by the pure-bloods."

"As the raw material for longevity, a powerful source of magic power is the goal of some pure-blood families."

"Then this maze is most likely the testing site for creating the Philosopher's Stone, or it could be the place where pure-blood wizards kill wizards and extract their magic power."

"But no matter which guess is correct, it proves one thing: this maze must be notorious."

Having written this, Wright paused, as if he had thought of something, and quickly wrote down another very important piece of information: "Time".

“If we divide it into four stages: beginning, peak, out of control, and finally calming down.”

"Then this maze was probably formed in the 16th century when the prey movement reached its peak and began to get out of control."

"A pure-blood family, a notorious maze, established in the Middle Ages, and disappeared along with the witch-hunting movement..."

Looking at the clues he had listed, Wright pondered for a moment and added the last condition:

"Like a living creature, it can automatically track its prey."

Looking at the clues in the notebook, Wright breathed a sigh of relief and murmured, "

It’s a pity that the teacher didn’t give me this information, otherwise I wouldn’t have to brainstorm here.”

"Take the magic wand and kill it directly. Let it know how hot the fierce fire is and how sharp the shadowless sword is..."

After sighing, Wright put away his notebook and walked out of the Room of Requirement.

Taking out his pocket watch and checking the time, Wright couldn't help but be a little surprised and said to himself in confusion:

"Why does it feel like so much time has passed, while outside it's only been half a day."

Afterwards, at the urging of the meal reminder, he put aside his doubts and ran to the auditorium to eat happily.

The long table in the auditorium was moved to the wall, with only a relatively smaller long table placed in the middle.

Dumbledore, McGonagall, Snape, Sprout, Flitwick, and Filch were all sitting on one side of the long table.

When Wright arrived at the Great Hall, he saw Dumbledore's conspicuous stuffed lady wizard hat with a large eagle on top.

Harry, Ron, Hermione and three other students were looking at the mysterious Trelawney with nervous faces.

"Am I late?"

Ignoring the charlatan who was making predictions outside the table, Wright walked to the dining table with a chuckle.

After greeting Hermione, he patted Ron who was teasing Scabbers, and sat in the empty seat next to Harry.

"No, we're also waiting for everyone to arrive!" Harry explained to Wright in a low voice.

At this moment, seeing Wright sitting down, Trelawney screamed:

"Principal, there are already thirteen people here. This won't do."

"When there are thirteen people dining together, the first person to leave his seat will die."

As she spoke, she, who had been extremely hesitant, quickened her pace and quickly sat down at the dining table.

After the mysterious Trelawney sat down, Professor McGonagall began to carve up the turkey on the table and asked indifferently, "Do you want some chicken ribs, Sybil?"

As a religious person, Trelawney could naturally sense Professor McGonagall's dislike for her, and replied coldly, "No need!"

Then she looked around and asked, "Is Professor Lupin not here?"

Dumbledore heard this and said with a wandering look, "He was a bit unlucky. He fell ill at Christmas."

"I think you knew this a long time ago! Right, Sibyl?" Professor McGonagall looked at Trelawney, her eyes full of suspicion.

Trelawney responded to Professor McGonagall's suspicious look with a cold look and said calmly:

"Of course I know, but I won't easily show off my all-seeing eyes!"

"Perhaps, this can explain a lot of things!" Professor McGonagall obviously disliked Trelawney's vague arrogance.

……

Even Dumbledore did not dare to easily touch upon the verbal conflict between the two professors.

I pretended not to know and ate in silence with the people at the table.
